Fortune Teller’s Shop

As I started up the game today, Isabelle told me that Katrina has opened up her shop on Main Street. That means my shopping district is now complete!

Isabelle: Did you hear the news? Katrina the fortune-teller has opened a full-time shop on Main Street! So I quickly made my way up there to take a look at it. On the outside, there’s not a whole lot to look at.

The outside of Katrina's fortune-teller shop as seen from Main Street. And the inside looks exactly like the inside of her tent.

Katrina: The stars of Cancer and a wise mayor's guidance have caused me to settle in Forest...Anyway, she told me an aurora knit shirt was the key to unlocking good fortune. But now that her shop is done, I probably won’t use her services very often. Maybe if I have a bad luck day where I’m tripping a lot, I might see what she has to say. But other than that, I doubt I’ll be seeing her much.

When I returned to town, Tabby pinged me. She suggested another public works project, a bell.

Tabby: So, Mayor, I read in this magazine how the bell is all the rage right now.I went to go look at it, only to find that I first needed to attend the ceremony for the opening of Katrina’s shop. Katrina herself showed up; it’s a bit odd seeing her standing up and outdoors.

The completion ceremony for Katrina's shop.I was then able to see the bell project. It’s simple, but it looks nice. I do like the interactive projects, so I might consider putting it in my town eventually.

Bell: 86,000 bells. After that, I started looking for snowballs to make a snowman. I wasn’t trying to make a bingo snowman, so I tried making it smaller. I ended up making a snowboy, but not a perfect one.

Snowboy: Ohhhhh! So close! I was almost a perfect snowboy...Aurora tried telling me she was going to move out on the 22nd, but I put an end to that right away. I soon saw Katie once again, asking to go to another town. I checked for open towns and saw Andrew’s town of Rinto had an open gate. So Katie and I boarded the train…

Katie and I board the train.…and arrived in Rinto.

Katie: OK, I'm gonna go see what Rinto is all about! So long, friend!I said hello to Andrew and his friend Ari.

Jeff, Andrew, and Ari outside of Re-Tail.While there, I sold a couple baskets of perfect peaches. Unfortunately, I realized too late that Rinto is a peach town. Oops.

Anyway, I then returned home to Forest, where Benedict asked me for some furniture. I gave him a fossil I had in my pockets and he gave me his picture again! Ugh! I wish I could get a picture from Big Top, Kidd, Skye, or Teddy instead of the same few animals over and over.

Benedict: It's Benedict's pic! Thank you, lamb! And with that, I wrapped up my day in Forest. See you next time!

SpotPass Home: Aminka from Shigtown

Nintendo sent out a new SpotPass home today; it belongs to Aminka from Shigtown. Her main room is your typical Mario room, but the room on the left is all-gold (similar to my basement). I especially like her gold piggy bank, although it’s debatable whether her throne is better than my golden super toilet.

The gold room in the SpotPass home of Aminka from Shigtown. She also had a nice Zelda room. Unlike most Zelda rooms I’ve seen, she had a mannequin dressed as Link. If you’re wondering why the Triforce is glowing, it’s because I activated it shortly before taking the pic.

A Triforce glows. From the Zelda room in the SpotPass home of Aminka from Shigtown.Aminka from Shigtown also had a rococo room, a princess room, and this arcade/rec room in the basement.

An arcade in the SpotPass home belonging to Aminka from Shigtown. And just to answer the inevitable question, this was a SpotPass home, not StreetPass. So everyone in North America should receive it, assuming SpotPass is turned on correctly.

I then returned to my town and paid Katrina to tell my fortune. Once again, she told me women’s bottoms were the key to getting lucky. Err…being lucky. Something like that. But as I started to leave, she stopped me. This is it! She suggested a fortune teller’s shop as a public works project!

Katrina: It appears the people of Forest strongly desire the guidance of the stars. I can sense it...It costs 340,000 bells, but Isabelle didn’t give me a preview of what it will look like. Unless it looks like a big yellow question mark.

Fortune-Teller's Shop: 340,000 bells.Anyway, I was over by a pond when I heard a noise…splash! Apparently a dung beetle dunked a snowball into the pond!

A tiny melted snowball floating in the pond.I went up to Main Street to reset the snowball, and I also updated my dream town. Luna told me that Garrett from Gville recently enjoyed my dream town. I also made a large withdrawal from my bank account and then returned to town to find two snowballs. I made another bingo snowman and got a new bingo card.

Snowman: Then I, Snowman, shall bestow upon you a bingo card!My four bingo numbers for today were 14, 26, 43, and 48. My new bingo card had all of them! I may try to make a different type of snowman tomorrow, but I didn’t want my existing snowmen to go to waste. (Without a bingo card in my possession, they won’t spin new numbers).

Anyway, I paid off Katrina’s shop and returned to Isabelle at town hall. It will be done tomorrow, and my Main Street will finally be complete!

Isabelle: We've met our collection goal for the Fortune-Teller's Shop project! It should be complete tomorrow!Tabby met me in a darkened alley and tried to sell me an armor suit. With this look on her face, I can totally picture her as a creepy salesman.

Tabby: Hey, master, interested in one of my screamin' deals? I'm selling an armor suit!Chris then came over to get a number punched on his bingo card.

Chris talks to a snowman. When he was done, I asked him if he wanted to shop before I closed the gate. He said yes, but I made my way into T&T Emporium before he did. So once he entered, he saw me just standing there and thought I was the mall Santa. 😀

Chris: Mall Santa.

My First Bingo

I started up the game this evening and saw that some cedar trees now have Christmas lights on them. They looked quite nice.

Christmas lights on the trees in town.As I walked around town, I saw Tabby. She pinged me and suggested a new public works project, a round streetlight. Wow, how many types of streetlights does this game have?

Tabby: So, master. Guess what? I really, really, really, really, really want a round streetlight.
In that case, I won’t get one.

Apparently, it’s a snowball on a stick.

Round streetlight: 39,800 bells.I then went up to Main Street, where Luna told me that Emily from Sheerio was my most recent dream visitor.

The Emporium had K.K. Love Song for sale. Surprisingly, it was actually a song I needed! It was actually the first K.K. song I ever heard in an Animal Crossing game; it was included as my “free gift” on the memory card of the original GameCube game back in 2002.

Anyway, I headed next door to Able Sisters, and they finally had a Santa coat for sale. I bought it up, and I believe this completes my Santa suit.

Mabel: Oh my, you look marvelous! When I returned to town, I talked to Tabby again for some reason.

Tabby: I has big teeth! Do you, like, need me for anything?I went looking for my snowballs to make a snowman. For the first time, I had to push one over a bridge. That’s always nerve-racking, but the ball of snow survived.

Successfully pushing a snowball across a bridge.Because of where the snowballs were, I didn’t want to risk pushing them all the way across town to be with my other snowmen. So I made this one near town hall, and its eyes rolled a 27 for me. It was a number I needed, and it put me only one hole away from a bingo.

Snowman: Splendid! You're one number away from a bingo!I then returned to my other snowmen over by the plaza. One of them had passed away overnight, so only three of them remained. The first one gave me a 26, which I needed. It put me one hole away in two different directions. The next snowman gave me a 37…BINGO!

Snowman: BINGOOOOO!I scored it diagonally. Here is my winning bingo card:

My first winning bingo card.As a reward, he gave me a ski rack. I’m not sure what I was expecting…

Snowman: This time, the prize is a ski rack!Apparently, the snowman took my winning bingo card when he gave me the ski rack. Because when I talked to the remaining snowman, he wouldn’t roll a new number for me because I didn’t have a bingo card. So I’ll have to make another bingo snowman tomorrow to get a new card. Anyway, this is what the ski rack looks like:

My new ski rack. It’s an okay item, but it sure took an awful lot of work to get it.

Rolf told me he was going to move out on the 19th. I made him stay. Why is it always the animals I like that want to move out? Ugh.

Rolf: It's about time I moved on! I'll be leaving on the 19th of this very month!Skye (the human) came over to punch a bingo card and to get signatures for a petition. When she was done, I wrapped up my game for the night. See you all next time, and good luck with your snowmen!
