Illuminated Tree

I started up the game and saw that my illuminated tree was completed today. It’s not much to see in the daytime, but it’s a different story altogether at night.

My non-illuminated illuminated tree (during the day). While I was out watering my flowers, I spotted Phineas! He gave me the Prof. of Ichthyology badge for catching every type of fish. This is my second gold badge.

I got the Prof. of Ichthyology badge! Everyone agrees I'm a fish specialist!Over at the police station, Copper told me that Crazy Redd was in town. And while I was there, I picked up this coat hanger! So exciting!

Copper: Looks like you've got yourself a coat hanger there. Do you want to keep that item? When I went into Redd’s tent, I was only able to rule out one of his four items. I ended up buying this valiant statue.

Redd: I see! Ya seem to be really close to that valiant statue, yeah?Once the sun went down, I attended the completion ceremony for the illuminated tree. I think it looks really good all lit up.

Celebrating the opening of the illuminated tree at its completion ceremony.Once the ceremony ended, Kidd pinged me. He offered me a neutral painting for 7,056 bells. I took the risk and bought it.

Kidd: So I have a bond with my neutral painting that's strong as titanium. But before I went to check out if it was real or not, I stopped to take a seat on my metal bench. As expected, the illuminated tree is easily visible when sitting. Now I just need some snow!

Enjoying the view of my new illuminated tree from my metal bench.I also added a (different) picture of the illuminated tree to my town page, so feel free to check that out if you’d like.

Up on Main Street, Luna told me that Ryan from Whaleway was my most recent dream visitor. And Blathers had good news for me: The neutral painting from Kidd was real! I donated it and took a look at it; Benedict was also there enjoying the growing art gallery.

Painting title: Basket of Fruit.

Tabby’s Redemption

Freckles the duck was camping over at the campsite today. She’s okay, but I already have a duck in town. Not to mention my town is still full.

Freckles: This trip was SO last minute, but I'm totally glad I listened to that little voice inside my head!Up at T&T Emporium, I bought this Jingle clock. It’s a new addition to the furniture series. And I almost missed it, because a lot of times, I don’t even notice the items hanging on the walls of the store.

Timmy: Ah, a Jingle clock! A fine item, yes?I know Phineas owes me a badge. But even though there weren’t any special visitors in town, there was no sign of him. So I got out my megaphone and started yelling for him. But the only replies I got were Benedict’s “Hey! I’m over here!” and Kapp’n’s clueless “Gar?”

Kapp'n responds with "Gar?" to my megaphone calls for Phineas.I guess I’ll have to wait a while longer. I met Tabby over by the bridge, and she was complaining about how there’s nothing going on and she’s so bored. To quote Harvey Danger, “If you’re bored, then you’re boring.”

Tabby: BOO! There is NOTHING exciting going on right now. How in the world am I supposed to have fun?And by another bridge, I saw my favorite duck Molly. She told me she wants plants for Christmas! Speaking of boring, what would be a more boring present than a plant? Maybe an egg.

Molly: I plan on asking Jingle for some plants this year. I want to learn more about them. After circling around town, I saw Tabby again. But I’m not going to insult her this time, because she just helped me out! She suggested an illuminated tree for a public works project! I was just talking about how I was hoping someone would suggest that two days ago!

Tabby: What would you think of...adding an illuminated tree here? This is what it looks like…when not lit up:

Illuminated tree: 128,000 bells. But of course it will look its best when it is lit up. It will resemble a Christmas tree, which is perfect for this time of year–especially when it’s snowing. I wasn’t sure where to put it, so I walked around town looking for a good spot. Since I wanted it to be visible from my metal bench, I decided on this spot:

The spot I chose for my illuminated tree. It's near my metal bench and fountain.I went up to the post office to withdraw some money from my bank account, and then returned to pay off the project. It will be completed tomorrow.

Isabelle: We've met our collection goal for the illuminated tree project! It should be complete tomorrow! And last but not least, I gave Aurora a new greeting. Ice witch, it is!

Aurora: I'm going to use it all the time. Ice witch, ice witch! And if you haven’t seen my new slideshow of New Leaf pictures taken in November, be sure to check it out.

UPDATE: Just wanted to add that Z-Dude from Z-Vilage was my most recent dream visitor. ThankZ for visiting, Z-Dude!

Every Fish Caught!

Today, Teddy told me he wants clothes from Jingle on Toy Day. Yesterday, he told me he wanted something purple…so I’m guessing he wants purple clothes.

Teddy: Just between you and me, I want Jingle to bring me clothes.I also spoke with Kidd, and he mentioned that people think he and Tabby are cousins.

Kidd: Well, if I understand it right, people think we're cousins somehow. The most interesting part is that he didn’t deny it! Who wouldn’t deny being related to Tabby? Even if it was true! But he said he wants to protect Tabby’s privacy. Wow, I never would have guessed. You should have kept that info to yourself, Kidd.

Kidd: I've gotta protect Tabby's privacy, so I can't tell you anything else about this!Up on Main Street, Luna told me that Melina from Bluebell was my most recent dream visitor. And Gracie has a holiday dress available, in case anyone wants to dress up like a Christmas tree.

Gracie: A festive-tree dress, eh? This item is in pretty high demand. I wonder if you're worthy of it...Speaking of holiday clothes, Beth submitted a Christmas tree sweater and a girls’ Santa dress to the QR Codes page, so be sure to check those out if you want to feel festive.

From my main bridge, I spotted a large shadow in the river. I fished it out, and it was a stringfish. That’s my first one!

I caught a stringfish! My theory really paid off!Katrina was in town, so I paid her 500 bells to tell my fortune. She told me that an official top will be the key to avoiding disaster. I really don’t care about her fortunes that much… At this point, I’m just doing them so I can get her to open up her shop on Main Street. I’m not sure how many more fortunes I need, but I’ll be sure to let you know when it happens.

Katrina the fortune-teller tells me I need an official top to improve my luck.I then did some fishing in the ocean. After a while, I found what I was looking for: an oarfish!

Catching my first ever oarfish! That means I’ve now caught every fish in the game!

I've caught every type of fish!I took both of my new catches and donated them to the museum, but Blathers didn’t say anything about the fish collection being complete! My list (which I filled out after donating each fish) seems to be complete, so I don’t think I’ve missed donating one.

I noticed that the bulletin board on the outside of the museum lists fish and diving catches together, though. So maybe I have to catch all of the diving creatures as well before he considers that collection complete. I should also be getting a new badge from Phineas sometime soon, too.

In case you’re wondering why I was able to complete my fish collection when the loach is only out in the spring (March through May), it’s because I got the game early and started my adventure back in May. For the record, I do not time travel.
