Today was Yuka’s last day in Forest, so I went in to say goodbye to her.
In the top-left corner of Forest, I saw a dig spot. There’s where I had buried Big Top’s time capsule, but the “X” spot wasn’t there the last time I looked. I wasn’t sure if this was something else, or if it meant the time capsule was ready to be unearthed. But I dug it up, and it was indeed the time capsule. It had a letter and an item inside–a vertigo shirt. But I got the feeling I wasn’t supposed to have done that… So I returned to Big Top.
He didn’t seem bothered that I dug it up. However…
Oh. Crap. I definitely wasn’t supposed to open it myself. And elephants never forget. Sorry, Big Top. I hope this hasn’t hurt our friendship permanently. I talked to him again to see if there was an option to give him the vertigo shirt; there wasn’t. However, he offered to give me a garbage pail for it.
Even though I wasn’t in the mood for jokes, I headed over to Club LOL. But that worked out fine, because Shrunk’s jokes aren’t funny. He did however, teach me the laughter emotion. It’s the most useful of all emotions, in my opinion, so I’m glad to have it.
Back in town, Tex offered me a wistful painting! Of course he wanted 7,056 bells for it, but that’s worth it if it’s a real painting!
I took it to the museum and donated it. It was indeed real!
My friend Wendy, who was unable to come to Forest yesterday, was trying out a different router today. So she invited me over, and it worked! While I was there, her friend Jordan came over as well. But then when another visitor came, we disconnected. I again went to Wendy’s town, but this time nobody else came. I met with some of her animals, including Kabuki.
Wendy’s house is right by the cliff overlooking the ocean. She wanted to see me jump off from there into the water, so I did.
And we both showed off our frogs that we caught earlier.
After I was done looking around her town, we headed over to Forest. I opened my gate and Wendy came over, as did Dash. We went into Kicks, and I was having a little too much fun with my sneezing emotion. It makes juicy sneezes!
Next, we headed over to Club LOL for some dancing. Nick also came over to visit, so he joined in too.
At one point, I was jokingly telling K.K. “more steam!” and right on cue, more steam came out.
After we were done, we went to my house for a bit. Dash called me outside. He was trying to pitfall me, but I didn’t fall for it. He did catch a blue Pikmin named Nick, though.
Before long, we went out to the island. Everyone got their rental wet suits on and we went swimming. At one point, Wendy and Dash kept getting stung by jellyfish. It was pretty funny.
And Nick pointed out that he was a blue Pikmin, swimming. (Blue Pikmin are the only ones that don’t drown in water).
Next up, we decided to do some tours (mini-games). First, we did a hide-and-seek tour, which was great for some quick, easy medals. And then we tried the easy hammer tour. Using toy hammers, you have to smack a machine that drives all around.
This was my first time doing this game, and it was pretty fun.
We smacked it 202 times.
And our last event of the night was a dragonfly-catching tour, which Wendy won.
After everyone collected their island catches from the basket and sold what they needed to sell, I ended the party. I definitely had a good time tonight.
When I went into the museum to get my fossils identified, Blathers was deep in thought once again. I asked him what was wrong, and he said it was about his friend Brewster. He said Brewster was a master brewer that didn’t have a place to open up a coffee shop. But he remembered that I was the mayor, and he made sure a cafe was added to the list of available town projects.
Next, I headed over to Club LOL to get another emotion. This time, Shrunk taught me the sneezing emotion. The sneezes you can perform are nice and juicy.
Then, at 8:00, I opened my gate to visitors for the first time. Chris, Taylor, and Peyton came over to visit. We went into Club LOL to do some dancing.
After everyone did a little shopping, we headed over to my house.
As Taylor burned to a crisp, I couldn’t help but point out how annoying it is to have to use the touch screen to type, as opposed to using a USB keyboard in City Folk. It’s so much harder to communicate this way.
And not only that, but the question mark is hidden away on page two of the symbols page. It should be easier to access. Also, I must say I hate how messages are only displayed for about five seconds, as opposed to 30 seconds in City Folk. If someone types a message as you start going through a door, forget about it. It will be gone before you come out the other side.
We then took a trip to the island.
Everyone got rental wet suits so we could all swim. I had to laugh as I witnessed Peyton getting stung by a jellyfish.
We started to do an island tour to catch dragonflies, but we got disconnected as soon as the tour started. So I reopened my gate. Chris and Taylor returned, but Peyton didn’t come back. Instead, Dash came over to visit.
Once again, we headed out to the island for a dragonfly tour. This time, we didn’t get disconnected. But I didn’t do very well, I could hardly find any at all!
After that, we did an easy hide-and-seek tour. On the way, I saw an unusual fruit, so I shook the tree to see what it was. It’s a lychee.
And I spotted a new animal, Ken–an unusual-looking black and purple rooster.
But the hide-and-seek games were very easy and quick. We earned 7 medals each for the easy one and 9 medals each for the regular one. And I just had to take a picture of a windmill I saw while in the game area.
We stopped in Yuka’s house to say goodbye to her. Although she’s not packed yet, so she’ll still be in town tomorrow too.
Chris left around 9:45 and Joey came in to replace him. We went in for a quick dance at Club LOL.
I then ended the party at 10:00. I went over to town hall to see how much the cafe would cost; it’s 298,000 bells. Yikes.
I chose a spot for it (near the center of town) and paid almost half of the amount due.
At this point, I was done in Forest for the night. But I wanted to make a stop at my friend Wendy’s town. But as much as I tried over and over again, I kept getting error message 018-0512. Wendy and I both tried restarting our routers, turned off other Wi-Fi devices, and tried everything we could think of…but still, no luck.
After rearranging my furniture a bit, I went into the back room. I wasn’t expecting a big cake and unlimited juice, but I was hoping for more than this…
Ugh! Four squares by four squares! Again! For the prices Tom Nook charges, he should give you bigger rooms! You definitely get less for your money from Tom Nook in New Leaf. But still, it is nice that the room is an option…’cause at least now I have it.
So I thought I should do something nice for her. You know, as a going-away present.
She never appreciates the little things.
In case you’re wondering what I’m wearing on my head here, it’s a DJ cap.
I was going through the options to see what I could have done. But Cyrus has no patience at all. He’s more unlikable than Phyllis.
You can have the outside modified with a pattern or fabric, or you can have the screen modified. Unfortunately, you can’t customize it with a text message. But you can change the scrolling stars into hearts or leaves instead. I went for the latter. But his projects take half an hour to complete, so I went up to Main Street to kill some time. Today, the museum gift shop had a silver fishing rod!
Celeste told me it’s available because I’ve donated 30 fish to the museum. Next, I headed over to Club LOL. Shrunk taught me the shyness emotion.
I finished up my shopping run, and after enough time had passed, I returned to Re-Tail. My LED display was done. Even though it’s not a text message that scrolls, I must admit the scrolling leaves look pretty good. I’m not sure why he uses Nook’s logo though…aren’t the Nooklings in direct competition with Re-Tail?
I then took a break from playing. But Saturday is traditional K.K. night, so I started the game back up after 8:00 to get a new song. I got to Club LOL and saw Yuka was in there! Whyyyyyyy?
You country music loving animal, you. I wasn’t about to request that song for her; I just told K.K. that I was in a good mood and I let him pick the song. He ended up playing Bubblegum K.K.
It was okay. Until I got home and saw the album cover. Francine?!
I never thought I’d see the day that “Frankengaga” was on an album cover! She and Chrissy are rabbit impersonators! They’re humans wearing bunny suits! Maybe the fake ears can trick K.K., but they don’t fool me!
