I was browsing through the information at the train station and found this little tidbit about best friends:
So by using theΒ best friend feature, you can control who can come in your town. Although most of the time I open my gate, I’ll be allowing anyone on my roster, this allows me to plan private parties as well. This is a great feature to have!
Anyway, I got my beautiful statue in the mail from Crazy Redd. Turns out, it’s real! So the art section of my museum finally has something in it!
While on Main Street, I headed into Club LOL to give Shrunk a snack. I gave him three peaches, and he taught me the sadness emotion. Sadness was not a rare emotion in City Folk, so I’m not so sure about my theory now (about multiple fruit getting rare emotions). Oh well. At any rate, sadness is a good emotion to have.
I then stopped in the post office to check for new DLC.
That’s right, the first DLC item is now available–a rainbow screen! Don’t worry, it’ll still be available when the game comes out later this month.
But before heading home to look at the rainbow screen, I finished my shopping run. As expected, T&T Mart is being remodeled. So that means no fortune cookies today. Aww, and I was hungry too…
But that’s not the only construction on Main Street today! Something new is going up next to the Able Sisters. I think it’s going to be Kicks, the shoe shop.
I then returned home. Let’s take a look at that rainbow screen!
It’s somewhat transparent for a screen, so you might not want to go behind it to change your clothes. But the rainbow screen looks nice, and it goes good with my wallpaper.
I headed over to the camp site and saw that Molly’s tent is gone. She’s supposed to be moving into Forest, so I think I’ll be seeing her again before too long.
And speaking of moving animals, I went to visit Gabi…for the last time. Today is her last day in town. How sad……… jk π π π π π
After finding three fossils, I went to the museum to have them identified. But oddly, Blathers was using the thought emotion. There was an option to ask him what was wrong, so I did. He said that even though the museum is starting to fill up, it’s still not getting the attendance he was hoping for. So he wants to use the second floor of the museum (which currently isn’t being used) for an exhibit where the residents of Forest can display their own collections!
He said he already talked to Isabelle, and it will now be one of the options for a new community project. I think I will indeed make this the next project.
I was about done playing for the afternoon, when I realized I hadn’t spoken to my favorite villager, Aurora! So I went to her house and found that she was sick!
I just need to buy her some medicine. But wait! I can’t! The little Nooklings’ store is closed today! Uh-oh! Now the question is, should I hope she’s still sick tomorrow so I can buy her medicine so she doesn’t think I ignored her?Β That sounds awful, I know! Hopefully she will forgive me.
There is one other thing that I found peculiar today. When I first started up the game and came out of my house, my character was doing an emotion–it looked like he was sweating. Is that because it’s considered summer now and I don’t have an air conditioner? Or does it mean something else? Update: It means I was wearing long sleeves in summer.
Later on, I remembered that it was (traditional) K.K. night, so I went to Club LOL to get a new song. This time, I was able to request a song and I chose K.K. Faire.
After that, I tried out a tip I got from TheAnimaldude55. He told me that when you’re on the boat to the island, if you click the touch screen a few times, Kapp’n will stop his song and just get straight to the island. It’s a helpful time saver, although Kapp’n does seem to get a bit offended.

And while on the island, I caught my first regular shark.
And just a general note about this blog. If you ever want to bookmark or link to a specific day’s blog entry, use the dated link at the end of the blog entry. If you want to look through other days’ entries, use the calendar in the sidebar.
Have a good weekend everyone!
I also saw Big Top, and he asked me if he smelled good. Uh, I guess so? He said it was because he was using a shampoo that smells like cheesecake. At any rate, he was happy.
Then today, I got a letter in the mail from Gulliver. Even though he was mostly talking about Hollywood, the gift he sent me had nothing to do with movies. It was the Statue of Liberty. It’s nice to see Lady Liberty back in Animal Crossing, after skipping City Folk.
And on the bulletin board, Timmy and Tommy posted a notice that the T&T Mart will be closed for remodeling tomorrow.
And the campsite didn’t sit unused for very long after all! There was a summer camper in a tent there today! I must say the tents looked better on GameCube though.
The camper inside was a cute duck named Molly inside.
She asked if I wanted her to move into Forest, and I told her yes. So she suggested we play a game to decide. If I got her question correct, she would move in. If I got it wrong, she would take the peaches in my pocket instead.
Her question involved her using emotions. She said in a certain game, if you knock things down, you’ll feel like this…and then she did a happy emotion. And if you miss, you’ll feel like this…and she did a sad emotion. The correct answer was clearly bowling, so she’s going to be moving in! She’ll soon be a villager instead of just a camper. π
Shortly after leaving her tent, I saw yet another tent in town! But this one was Crazy Redd’s. I inspected his four pieces of art (two paintings and two statues). I felt like the paintings were fakes, but I wasn’t sure which statue was the correct one. Ultimately, I decided on the beautiful statue.
I’ll find out tomorrow if I made the right choice or not.
After digging up four fossils, I went to Main Street for my shopping run. T&T Mart had a cheese wall for sale, and I bought it.
I then headed over to Re-Tail to sell some stuff and I got quite a surprise when I walked in the door. Cyrus, the blue alpaca who had been asleep all month, was finally awake!
He asked if I was bothering his wife. Wife? I thought Reese was his mother! She talked about him as if he was a kid. Oh well. I had him all wrong. In fact, he’s a pretty big jerk. A jealous, threatening jerk.
But he isn’t completely useless; he can customize furniture for you. He can change paint colors, redo upholstery, and put patterns onto furniture. I had a cabin low table in my pockets, so I thought I’d put him to work on putting a JVGS pattern onto it. Basically, I just wanted to test it out.
I had to wait half an hour for him to finish the job (knowing him, he probably needed time to nap). But when I returned, I got the table back and this is how it looks:
After going back outside, I ran into Fuchsia. I hadn’t talked to her yet today, so I said hello. She asked me for a fresh peach to eat, so I found her one. In return, she gave me a brown pot from her pot stash…Β That was an interesting choice of words.
With that, I finished my night in Forest.
Basically, a star falls down, hits you in the head, and bounces off.
Back outside, Big Top asked me if I liked his outfit. I said it was cool, and that made his day. He said he was going to eat some french toast to celebrate. Can I have some?
I then stopped to take a look at my town tree. It’s getting big.
Next, I made sure to attend the ceremony celebrating the opening of the campsite. Yay!
But there’s a bit of a problem with the campsite–I don’t know how to use it! It’s fenced off and I can’t go inside!
Down on the beach, I ran into Gulliver once again. Wow, this sure is infinitely easier than stalking his UFO in City Folk! Anyway, he was talking about a hurricane. No really, he was.
He then gave me the easiest quiz question ever.
I got the question correct of course, and he told me he’ll be sending me a gift from the USA soon.
After going back up the ramp, I ran into Big Top again. He asked me to catch a river fish for him, so I went and caught a black bass. I gave it to him, and he thanked me with a flame shirt. In the picture below, he doesn’t really have a halo–he’s just standing with his head right below the moon.
Right after that, I heard a balloon present! I got my slingshot out and shot it down! It contained a balloon table, which I put on the second floor of my house. I hope it doesn’t pop. π
And in T&T Mart, I saw a DJ’s turntable.
I bought it and put it in my house. I was finally able to play my song from last Saturday, K.K. Flamenco.
Look, I’m DJ
That wrapped up my night in Forest, but that’s not all I have for you. I made a video today–it’s a quick tour of Main Street and the shops that are there. It’s not the final result of whatΒ the shopping district will look like, since I still don’t have all the shops yet and others still have upgrades yet to come. But it gives a look at what it’ll look like about 4 weeks into the game:
