A few days ago, I planted a mango from the island next to my house. When I started up the game today, I noticed that the mango tree is now full-grown and bearing fruit.
When I talked to Rory, he asked me to bury a time capsule for him.
I buried it in the northwest corner of town, just one spot to the right of where I buried Big Top’s time capsule early on in the game. I don’t know the details of when these will be unearthed, but I hope the presence of Rory’s time capsule doesn’t mean he’s going to be stuck in Forest for a long time.
After stopping at town hall, I attended the (delayed) celebration for the second floor of the museum. And when I say delayed, it was only delayed because I didn’t stop in town hall yesterday (even though I could have).
I got my solemn painting in the mail from Crazy Redd, so I took it to the museum. My gamble yesterday paid off! It’s a real painting! So I went in to see it; the museum provides some details about the paintings now, such as the title, artist, year, and so on.
While I was in the museum, I decided to go on and “rent” an exhibit room. For now, I think I’ll just put my balloon furniture in it.
Next, I stopped in Club LOL. Shrunk taught me the anger emotion. That’s another good one to have.
In Super T&T, I decided to take a look at the catalog. This month’s DLC, the rainbow screen, is indeed available to be ordered.
Even though DLC could also be ordered in City Folk, it’s good to know that it works the same way in New Leaf as well. But as I browsed through the catalog, I spotted some other good news. For one thing, items are now listed alphabetically! Even though it should be a no-brainer, previous games didn’t do it this way, and it was hard to find a certain item if you didn’t know where it was listed. I’m glad they finally got it right.
But that’s not the only improvement. There’s now a search feature! So if you search for the word “cheese,” for example, it will list any item that has the word cheese in it: Cheese floor, cheese wallpaper, etc. Very helpful.
Once I was done in the supermarket, I headed to the far end of Main Street. The construction is gone, and Kicks is now complete!

Kicks, the shoe shop, is ran by Kicks, the skunk.
He sells shoes and socks in his store. I became his first customer by buying these cleats.
After that, I took some medicine to Aurora, who is still sick. She flipped for it.
And last but not least, I went to visit my newest neighbor, Molly the duck!
She lives a bit south of my house, but still in the northwest part of town…along with me, Aurora, and Big Top. Definitely the cool part of town. Forest is slowly improving in terms of villagers. I still would like to get rid of Yuka, Katt, and Rory, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.
That’s all for tonight, but thank you for reading my blog. Are you all getting excited for the game? Just a few more days to go!
And at Club LOL, Shrunk taught me the happiness emotion.
One good thing about the emotions is that you’re able to rearrange the icons in your list. So you’ll be able to move your favorites to the top of the list. I have some good ones so far, but I really need laughter. That one is crucial for online play.
I also spotted Crazy Redd’s tent again! He sure seems to visit pretty often! Why can’t I see Saharah this often? I haven’t even seen her since I got my house!
After that, I searched around town to find my fossils and the money rock. Once I did, I went up to the museum. The second floor is now complete and I got to meet Celeste.
She was telling me that the personal exhibit rooms can be decorated just as you would decorate your own house.
I really have no idea what I would do with one. It sounds like it’s just like having an extra room, although it would be like a home-away-from-home. And there’s a rental fee of 10,000 bells, although she didn’t mention how long I get to keep the room. So I didn’t hand over the money just yet. Maybe if knew what to put in there…
Also, the second floor has a gift shop. I bought myself a silver shovel!
I then left the museum and headed over to the other shops on Main Street. Super T&T didn’t have much I wanted, other than the fortune cookies. One of them gave me another Midna’s Mask. So I checked out the Able Sisters, and they had an unusual pair of glasses for sale.
Funny glasses? They might be funny when they’re just sitting there… but once they’re on my face, they’re nothing short of terrifying!
And with that, I wrapped up my night in Forest. Check back tomorrow for more!
Just outside my house, I spotted two rocks next to each other. Each day, there will be a a rock that isn’t normally there. I like to think of it as a fake rock. When you hit it with your shovel, the rock shatters to reveal a gem. This one contained an amethyst, which is worth 2,000 bells.
I saw my next-door neighbor Big Top, who reminded me that Aurora is sick.
So I headed up to Main Street so that I could buy her some medicine. While there, I saw the new supermarket, Super T&T.
Timmy informed me that this store has a place for items that can be hung on walls. Nice! Today’s wall item was an astro clock. A digital clock for your house that hangs on your wall? Pretty cool!
As for the other shop in progress, it was still under construction for a second day. So I headed back to town and gave Aurora her medicine.
After going outside, I spotted an animal I wasn’t expecting. It was Phineas! I didn’t even recognize him without his balloons. In New Leaf, he apparently hands out badges that mark certain achievements. He gave me the Fish Maniac badge, which shows that I’ve caught many types of fish. I’m not sure if there’s any real point to it or not, but I’ll take it.
In the river, I spotted a bug that kept going underwater. It was a tricky little bugger, but after a few minutes of trying, I finally caught it. It’s a diving beetle.
When I was over by the town tree, Katt asked to come over to my house right away.
I reluctantly agreed, so I led the way home. Once inside, she would comment on some items (namely my metal guitar), but never asked to buy anything. After a few minutes, I was tired of her creeping around my house, so I went out the door to end her visit.
Back outside, I ran into Fuchsia. She asked if I should get some sleep soon. It was only 5:00 pm! This isn’t the first time she has acted like it was later than it really was. Sorry, girlfriend, this is a Night Owl town now. Get used to it.
After collecting my fossils for the day, I headed back up to Main Street. All of my fossils were ones the museum already had. That’s fine, because it means more bells for me. I went into Club LOL and gave Shrunk three peaches, and he taught me the curiosity (question mark) emotion. That’s one of my favorites, so it’s good to have.
When I went into Re-Tail, Yuka was in there, looking at the mango I had put up for sale. She asked me if the price was fair. I’m the one selling it, so what do you think I’m going to say?
Next stop? The island! I took the boat over, and the shop there finally had the black wet suit I wanted! Sweet!
But I also did some fishing while I was there. I caught my first Napoleonfish!
When I was done, I returned to town and put my wet suit on. Time to swim! In the northeast part of town, I have a small, private beach! You can only get to it by swimming in the ocean, and only people with wet suits can swim.
I swam the whole length of the ocean. I even snuck up on Kapp’n!
When I was done playing in the water, I sold the rest of my fish. And I had enough to pay off the museum renovation! It will be done tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by, and please check back tomorrow for another update!
