I got to witness my first meteor shower in Animal Crossing: New Leaf tonight. The shooting stars are brighter and stand out more than they did in previous games. They look really nice.
Big Top was out walking around, and he asked me for a piece of fruit. I found a peach for him and he gobbled it down.
He gave me an aqua polka tee to thank me. A bit later, I spotted Gulliver on the beach.
And just like last time, he went a bit overboard with the puns.

Anyway, his clues indicated he was on his way to the Netherlands. So he will send me a gift from there soon.
I was on my way to Main Street when the railroad crossing signaled the train was about to cross. So I had to wait for the train to go by before I could pass through.
In Nook Homes, I talked to Lyle; he confirmed that basements are not judged with the rest of your house in New Leaf.
And over in T&T Mart, my fortune cookies were good for a Blue Falcon and a 1-up mushroom.
Then I decided to try something out. I had one fossil (amber), two peaches, and a zebra turkeyfish in my pockets. I wanted to compare the prices of T&T Mart and Re-Tail. Timmy offered me 1,440 bells for those items. I then took them to Re-Tail, where Reese offered me 1,800 bells for those same items! So I’m going to avoid selling things to the little Nooklets from now on. Unless Re-Tail is closed and I need money, of course.
Anyway, I returned home to take a look at my Blue Falcon.
By now, my battery light on my 3DS was flashing red, meaning my battery was about to die out. So I stopped playing at this point.
Nintendo has released a third video in their Animal Crossing New Leaf series, Inside the Treehouse. This time, they talk about what it’s like when you first move into town. Check it out if you’d like:
UPDATE: I started up the game again tonight to see how much more money I needed to donate for the Dream Suite. Since I was just a few thousand bells away, I did some fishing for a while. I also saw Harry walking around outside.
I just smiled, nodded, and slowly walked away. After a couple trips back to Re-Tail, I had enough money! I went to the train station and gave Lloid the donation. I then returned to town hall, where Isabelle confirmed that the Dream Suite would be done tomorrow!
And with that, I’m off to bed. Check back tomorrow for more!
Then Fuchsia told me that flowers will bloom if you talk to them. If you say so, Fuchsia.
I then headed up to the shopping district. T&T Mart had a compass for sale; I guess it’s a regular item now after being a Gulliver item in City Folk.
And I noticed a new item that was for a sale–a modern wood TV. Oh, is there such a thing?
And at the Able Sisters, I saw that the ridiculously-priced royal crown is back. Only 1.2 million bells, what a steal! 😛
Back in town, Gabi asked me to catch a butterfly for her. When I returned, she complained about seeing me too much! Listen, scatterbrain, I’m not very fond of you either!
But I gave her the common butterfly and she gave me a vertigo tee.
While shaking a few trees, I found a spider. It’s always good to catch something new for the museum.
I then decided I needed to earn some money. I haven’t gone to the island for a few days, so I headed there tonight. Before going out on the beach, I took one tour: the easy balloon-hunt tour.
You have five minutes to shoot down as many balloons as you can. Regular balloons are worth one point, and bunny balloons are worth three points. The balloons show up on the map, which is helpful. However, the wind frequently changes direction, so you really have to run around to chase them down.
I ended up with 37 points, which was good enough for a silver Tortimer award and four medals.
After that, I went out on the beach to do some fishing, bug-catching, swimming, and diving. I caught several new fish, including this ocean sunfish.
I don’t think I mentioned this before, but there is a basket you can fill up on the island. Anything you take from the island (fish, bugs, fruit, etc.) can be put into the basket, and they will be returned to the dock in your town. It holds 40 items, so that is the maximum number of things you can bring back from the island per trip.
That’s all for today, but I’ll be back tomorrow with another update. Hope to see you then!
I also had mail from Crazy Redd; he sent me my mystic statue that I purchased yesterday. I quickly headed to the museum to donate it. But Blathers informed me that it’s a fake!
Very disappointing. While I was on Main Street, I did my shopping for the day. One of my fortune cookies wasn’t a winner, but it was good for a space shuttle–something I liked better than the Varia Suit, which was a winner. When I was done, I headed to my town tree to talk to Chip. He told me that this fishing tournament was about who could catch the biggest black bass.
I only had about 20 minutes to fish, but I caught as many fish as I could. I made a few trips to sell my catches, and I also dropped off some items at my house to make room in my pockets. This included my mystic statue, my space shuttle, and a drinking fountain I bought. The space shuttle looks really small compared to how it looked in City Folk. My steamroller dwarfs it.
Anyway, I ended up with the second-biggest black bass of the day. Harry’s was the biggest. So between 6:00 and 9:00, you can enter Chip’s tent to see the winners’ ceremony. I won a silver fish trophy. Yay, I’m #2!
And Chip congratulated all of us.
I then put my trophy in my house to take a look at it.
Before I quit for the night, I decided to take off my “rock ‘n’ roll” outfit. I put my yellow Pikmin in storage, and I’ll probably sell the eye patch. I’ll see you guys soon!
