Today, I was talking to Harry and he told me that he’s planning on moving out of Forest. Even though there are several animals in Forest I dislike more, I didn’t try to stop him. He said he’ll be moving out on the 22nd of this month.
While walking around looking for the money rock, I spotted a tent. It’s Crazy Redd! I guess they chose not to put “black market” on his tent this time.
Crazy Redd had two paintings and a statue for sale. I bought the mystic statue.
Even though you are required to pay him immediately, you can’t have the item right away. He says he will send it in the mail. Given Crazy Redd’s shady history, I’m not sure trusting him is such a wise idea. But there’s another curious aspect of Crazy Redd in New Leaf: You can only buy one of his three items! Why?? That makes no sense to me. As greedy as he is, why would he refuse a sale?
Anyway, I left his tent and saw an item down on the beach below. I went down the ramp to see what it was; it’s a lost item.
So I had to go around asking my neighbors if it was theirs. I asked a couple villagers, and then took a break from that and decided to go shopping.
In the Able Sisters, Sable and Mabel told me about a new, large sewing machine they got. Sable didn’t know how to use it, so she asked me if I knew. Then Mable told me it uses the 3DS camera to read QR codes of custom designs.
She said I can also use it to make a QR code of patterns I make. So if I make a pattern, I can have a QR code made, and you all could just scan the code into your 3DS and you’d have the pattern, without having to recreate it yourself! That’s pretty awesome, and a huge time-saver!
I’ve only made one pattern so far, and it’s not something people would want (the JVGS logo), but I may make some other patterns in the future. When I do, I’ll be sure to post a QR code so you can download them into your game.
I then crossed over into the accessories part of the shop, where I tried on the stache & glasses. I’m sorry, but Labelle has lost all credibility in my eyes. She says everything looks great. Come on!
Back in town, I eventually found the owner of the lost item; it was the scatterbrain, Gabi. She gave me a bamboo shoot to thank me.
And outside, Katt approached me, asking for a catchphrase. I had her ask “What am I?”
After identifying some fossils and selling some stuff, I made a donation towards the Dream Suite. I still have a long way to go.
That’s all for today. If you haven’t seen Nintendo’s Inside the Treehouse videos, they’re basically a chat with some of the Nintendo employees who have worked on localizing Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the American market. Here are the first two episodes:
Back outside, I found the daily money rock for 16,100 bells. I also saw some purple violets and put them next to my house.
I then headed over to the shopping district. Tom Nook told me I owe him 198,000 bells my house expansion. He’s going to have to wait, because I really want that Dream Suite!
Construction had not yet started on Club LOL. One of my readers informed me that Club LOL takes about six days to build, so I guess I’ll have to wait until next week for some music and comedy.
While still in the shop, I bought my two fortune cookies. Only one of them was a winner, but it was a good prize. A yellow Pikmin! Even though the word “hat” isn’t part of the item name, it is indeed a hat and not a captured yellow Pikmin running on a hamster wheel, for example. Although that would be pretty cool too…
In the Able Sisters’ shop, I tried on an afro cap. I had no interest in buying it, but I wanted to see how it looked. Labelle said it looked great on me. She’s clearly lying.
^They also had the moon and the stars for sale. But I tried on something else to go with my Pikmin hat; an eye patch!
Rock ‘n’ roll look? If you say so, Labelle. I think she’s just desperate to make a sale.
That’s all for today, but be sure to check back tomorrow for another update!
But it’s not a problem at all, because in her dream, she was told to build a Dream Suite that lets people visit other people’s towns, even when they’re not online! So that got added to the list of projects I can choose from! Suite! I mean, sweet!
This is something I definitely want, so I made this the current project right away. It may take me a while to earn all the bells it requires, but I’m going to work on it!
I then made a late-night trip to the island to catch some fish and bugs, and to grab some bananas. After I returned to the mainland, I planted a couple of bananas on the beach. I then sold some things at
After that, I went to bed. When I started the game up today, I got quite a surprise waiting for me outside my door…it was Shrunk!
He told me that he wanted to open up shop in the shopping district on Main Street. He wants to open a live venue that he calls Club LOL.
So I quickly went around and asked the first six villagers I could find: Big Top, Aurora, Harry, Tex, Katt, and Rory. They all agreed that it sounds like a great idea.
I then hurried to the shopping district to hand the paper over to Shrunk. He said construction will start soon, but he can’t say when exactly it’ll be done. If I were to guess, I’d imagine the construction will be up tomorrow and then it’ll be done on Friday. But we’ll have to wait and see.
That’s great news! I’ve been dying to get some emotions and songs! When I was done talking to Shrunk, I went next door to Nook Homes. Tom Nook congratulated me on paying off my house and told me my next house expansion will be done tomorrow morning.
I then headed over to T&T Mart for my two fortune cookies. I got fortunes #33 and #1. They were good for Pikmin and a mushroom mural, respectively. But before I returned home, I stopped in the Able Sisters and bought a deep blue tee.
Once I got home, I put up my wallpaper and put my Pikmin down. Good thing my house is getting bigger tomorrow, because it’s getting kinda crowded in here!
I also made a stop at the train station. There are lockers here, where you can access your storage if you don’t have a dresser or closet in your house. It’s also convenient to use when traveling. By the way, your storage lets you hold a total of 18 pages, with 10 items on each page. So it can fit 180 items, which is bigger than the storage in City Folk (160 items).
And last but not least, I returned to the beach for some fishing, and to check on my banana trees I planted last night. It looks like they’re going to make it!
Have a great day everyone, and I’ll be back with another update tomorrow! Thank you for stopping by!
