On my way to Main Street, I ran into Yuka. She was talking about memories.
If even good memories can make you cry, then I hope I give you lots of good memories, Yuka.
She then asked me how she looked. Muhahahahaha!
Once I was done annoying Yuka, I crossed the railroad tracks and checked out the new convenience store, T&T Mart.
On the inside, well…it looks a lot like Nook ‘n’ Go.
But instead of a Nook Point System machine like in City Folk, this machine gives you access to your catalog. You couldn’t access your catalog at Nookling Junction.
Of course, T&T Mart has more items available for purchase than Nookling Junction. This also means you can now buy two fortune cookies each day, instead of one. So you may want to save four Play Coins each day for New Leaf once you’ve upgraded to T&T Mart.
I redeemed my two fortunes for a fire flower and triple red shells. If you like collecting the Nintendo items in Animal Crossing games, you’re going to find it easier than ever in New Leaf. Depending on your point of view, that could be a good thing or a bad thing.
Back outside, Aurora told me she was looking for a furniture item to replace her snow globe. Coool, a snow globe? So I gave her a sewing machine that I found, and she loved it.
I thought this meant she was going to give me her snow globe…but no. Instead, she gave me a doghouse. That’s rough. Ruff ruff…
I talked to Fuchsia, and I see that her catchphrase is now “uh-huh.” So Isabelle did indeed wash her mouth out with soap. 😛 I can just imagine… “Do you like the taste of this soap? Say uh-huh! Say it!”
And then Katt asked me for a greeting that would change the impression she makes. Hahahaha, no greeting can overshadow that lovely face of yours, Katt.

In the Able Sisters, I saw a beak for sale and decided to buy it.
Back across the railroad tracks, I saw that my face-cutout standee was done. You can apparently draw new patterns for it, but I didn’t give that a try yet.
While walking around town looking for the money rock, I spotted Katrina’s tent! Just like on GameCube!
I went inside and had her read my fortune for 500 bells.
She told me that after the recycle shop (Re-Tail) closes for the day, golden furniture will appear.
But she said that a cap is the key to making it work. Does that mean I have to buy a cap and wear it? I have no idea.
So I continued on my walk around town. I spotted a lost item on the ground. Interesting.
I apparently have to find who it belongs to somehow. Meanwhile, Rory sees me and give me a new nickname: champ.
I make a stop in town hall and Isabelle asks me to attend the grand opening of the face-cutout standee. I agreed to go.
Later on, I run into Fuchsia and ask her if the lost item is hers. Nope.
And then I see Rory again. I’m able to ask him about it, and he says it’s his.
He gives me an elephant shirt as a reward.
And before I end my day, I watch a train go by. The railroad crossing is fully functional.
Just a note for those of you who use Club Nintendo. If you fill out the survey letting them know you intend to buy Animal Crossing: New Leaf, you can get 10 bonus coins once you buy and register the game. But you have to sign up by June 2nd to get the bonus coins.
I went into Nookling Junction, and Tommy told me that they’re having a preremodeling sale. So tomorrow, the store will be closed for remodeling, and it will reopen on Tuesday as a bigger store.
I then went next door to check out the new building. It’s a garden shop.
They sell flower seeds, saplings, and watering cans. This clown-like sloth named Leif works there. This shop is very small; I wonder if he ever feels like a mime trapped in a box.
Next, I decided to take a trip out to the island. First, I tried the Easy Item-Matching Tour. By digging up buried items, you must match pairs of identical items. And you can only hold one item at a time, so it’s a memory-based game. I completed the game and won a Gold Tortimer award and six medals.
After that, I tried a beetle-catching tour. I caught nine beetles and won another Gold Tortimer award and six more medals. I didn’t go on any more tours after that, but I did a little fishing and bug-catching on the island. Once I returned to town, I sold my catches and I earned enough to finish paying off my face-cutout standee.
On my way to town hall, I talked to Fuchsia. And again, she called me girlfriend. I introduced her to my net.
I really don’t know why her default catchphrase is girlfriend. Hello, Nintendo, there are guys that play Animal Crossing too! Once I got to town hall, I first talked to Isabelle across the counter to report Fuchsia’s bad language. She said she’ll take care of the problem (by washing Fuchsia’s mouth out with soap). Good.
And once I sat down at my mayor’s desk, Isabelle confirmed that my face-cutout standee will be completed tomorrow. Hooray!
Thank you all for reading! I’ll be back with another update tomorrow! 🙂
