Five Years a Mayor

On Monday, Boots told me he prepared a time capsule. He said it was like a love letter to himself in the future. Um, okay…

Boots: It's like a love letter to the me of the distant future!
That’s a weird way to put it…

So I buried it for him, in the same spot I always use for time capsules: The very northwest corner of town. As I buried it and packed it down, the puffs of dirt and dust blowing up almost looked like flowers!

When I visited Bones, he advised me not to look in his dresser. But when I did, I found a deluxe range and Bones told me I could have it!

I got a deluxe range!

Today, Isabelle greeted me outside my house as I started up the game. It’s the 5th anniversary of me becoming mayor! It’s actually the 5th anniversary of the town too, but I didn’t want to break Isabelle’s heart by telling her she didn’t exist before I arrived. ๐Ÿ˜›

Isabelle: I almost can't believe it, but it's been 5 years to the day since you became our mayor!

I was dragged over to the event plaza, and Isabelle told me all of the villagers would be there. But actually, only Big Top, Boots, and Tom Nook showed up! Why Tom Nook?

Isabelle gave me a gift, and we all fired off party poppers.

Isabelle: I still can't believe it--5 years since your inauguration... What a ride it's been!

The gift was another sapling clock. I had been wondering if it was a one-time gift, but apparently she gives you one every year. I wasn’t sure what to do with my second one, so I just put it in my house for now.

Maybe I’ll have to make a Forest sapling clock forest.

If you’d like to read (or re-read) my very first blog entry from when I moved in five years ago, here it is: Moving In.

Molly told me she was planning on moving away on May 11th, but I quackly quickly changed her mind for her.

Molly: I was about to make a big decision based on a whim! Thanks so much for making me reconsider!

My recent dream visitors have been Sara from Pokรฉmon, Cameron from NightBay, EngUP from X’iang, Mike from Monument, and Nancy from Forest. Thanks for visiting!

Weeding Day 2018

Sunday was Nature Day (Earth Day), but I played too late to catch Isabelle at the event plaza. But I did stop for a picture at the Nature Day standee. I hugged a globe with a headless girl.

On Monday, I spoke with Bob and got him to change his mind about moving away. So he’ll be in Forest for a while.

Today was Weeding Day, so I met up with Leif at the event plaza. He informed me that there were 13 weeds around town. I’ve been trying to avoid picking weeds this week, so that’s why I had so many.

Leif: Ummm, the number of nasty weeds remaining in this otherwise beautiful town is...exactly 13!

I immediately started plucking around. I found 12 of them on my initial walk around town, but I had to search a bit for #13. It still didn’t take me long, though. I returned to Leif, and he gave me the town cleanup prize: a rose sofa.

Leif: This rose sofa!

I took it home to get a look at it, and it was smaller than I expected. It only seats one person! Doesn’t that make it a chair, not a sofa?

Even though Weeding Day is about cleaning up the town, my villagers were also talking about cleaning up their houses as well.

Hornsby: Today is all about cleaning up our town! Maybe I should go the extra mile and clean up my house too.

Hornsby mentioned his garbage can, saying it’s the place to put anything you don’t need, including cans and boots.

Hornsby: Empty cans, boots, anything you don't need--you just toss it in there, schnozzle.

Wait a second. Did he mean boots…or Boots? ๐Ÿ˜›

I hope you all had a successful Weeding Day! See you next time!

Pass the Trash

Boots asked me for something to replace his loach tonight, so I caught a barbel steed for him. He seemed to like it, and he rewarded me with a trash bin.

Boots: This trash bin ought to work for you, boss! Thanks a bunch for your help!

Hornsby then approached me, saying one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. He then asked for my trash bin! How appropriate! He offered me a tropical tee in return, which I accepted because I’m desperately trying to raise our friendship level so I can get his picture. ๐Ÿ˜›

Hornsby: So how about trading your trash bin for my tropical tee?

At Club LOL, I attended the Saturday night performance of K.K. Slider. He played K.K. Gumbo for me, Kabuki, and Elise.

When I spoke with Bones, he was talking about an all-you-can-eat buffet. He said the last time he went to one, he ate so much that he popped the button off of his pants!

Bones: Last time I went to one, I ate so much spanakopita I popped the button off my pants!
For a moment, I thought he said he pooped his pants. Oops.

Bones and Hornsby both told me that Bob was planning on moving out of town. But Bob didn’t mention it (and didn’t ping me) tonight, so I’ll have to try to change his mind next time.

I found Gulliver down on the beach, talking about ninjas and samurai. I knew he was headed to Japan. If you ever have any doubts about his hints, feel free to check out my Gulliver Guide.

Gulliver: ...Japan!

My recent dream visitors have been BlueJean from BlueTown, Mike from Funtown, and Kip from Astrub. Also, Bones mentioned dreaming of Silver from Semenint, and Hornsby mentioned dreaming of Alberto from Nintendo. Thanks for visiting, everyone!

Hornsby: So the other night, Alberto from Nintendo showed up in my dream!
