Entry 140: Winter Olympics

Last summer, I gave a frying pan to Skull and he cooked up a seasonal sausage. He doesn't technically have a stomach, so he better hope it sticks to his ribs.

Seasonal Sausage. Voila!
But now that it's February 2026, it's been Winter Olympics season. My islanders have risen to the occasion by competing in a different "sport:" Spending time on the toilet.

Madeline was Number One, and she streamed her acceptance speech live. Stella dropped in for Number Two, while The Count brought up the rear. Of course, The Count is Madeline's father, so some talents don't fall far from the (family) tree. With two of the top-three rankings in one family, they've scored a royal flush!

The news didn't announce any specific events, but I can just imagine it included things like loo-ge, s'peed skating, and (toilet) bowling. Have any good ideas for toilet events? Leave a comment below!

Last Wednesday, Alien told me he wasn't in the best mood.

Alien: I'm not in the best mood today...
He had a fight with Shaq, and I told him to try to make up with Shaq. Fortunately, they both apologized and all is well once again.

On Friday, I gave SpongeBob an elephant ear and he melted into a pile of gray goo! It was his worst ever food!

I've now found all of SpongeBob's special reaction foods.

The next day, I played a Vs. Match with SpongeBob. It's the card-matching game, and I cleared the entire board before SpongeBob could even make one match.

SpongeBob: It's a historical bust.
You win!
After I gave Conan a Danish pastry, he leveled up. That in itself may not be notable, but he has now reached level 99! He is my 8th island to reach the maximum level.

Conan levels up to level 99.
Yesterday, Skull informed me that he uses his scale once a week. He even thinks he's getting fitter! However, I don't think he could possibly shed any more weight.

Skull: I use my scale once a week. I think I'm definitely getting fitter.
Today, Blake told me that he wanted to ask out Madeline. I told him to go for it, but she never showed up. So I gave Blake some food to cheer him up, and he seemed to be better. But when I gave him a frying pan, he cooked up some Soy Sauce Party Spoiled Milk. That's got to be one of the grossest creations I've seen yet. Perhaps he was still in a sour mood about Madeline after all. :P

Soy Sauce Party Spoiled Milk. Bon appetit!
Blake: Ah, the joy of cooking!
Buster was also in the mood for love, and he wanted to ask out Miss Piggy.

Buster: I have feelings for Miss Piggy. I've got to tell her!
So he confessed his love for Miss Piggy in the cafe. But The Count showed up behind Buster and he did the same thing!

I love you more!
Miss Piggy chose The Count over Buster, and they are now Muppet sweethearts!

New sweethearts Miss Piggy and The Count admire each other in the cafe.
That left poor Buster feeling depressed in his apartment.

Buster, wearing a wizard outfit, feels sad.
Miss Piggy left him all alone as one lonely wizard, with one broken heart. Ah, ah, ah!

Living the Dream

And now I'm going to talk about my plans with the upcoming Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, which comes out in April for Nintendo Switch. Which Miis (or at least characters, because I may not use the exact same Miis) do I plan on bringing over to the new game? I'll discuss them by category:

While those are my current plans, nothing is set in stone and I reserve the right to change my mind. And they're not all going to be added all at once. I'll probably just start the game with a handful of Miis and gradually add more over time.

Next question...what type of content will I make? With the 3DS game, I couldn't easily record footage. General capture devices won't work with a 3DS, but that's not the case with Switch. I can easily record videos, and I plan on posting a video series showing my highlights and island progress.

I probably will not post regular blog entries, though. It's an awful lot of work to process two forms of content (videos and a blog) for everything that happens, and I already do that for four Animal Crossing games. And not many people visit blogs any more anyway. I will still have some web content though, and much of it will be similar to what I have here: Perhaps a listing of my villagers, a page of their reaction foods, a list of kids born on my island, and maybe more. Have any ideas? We'll see. But the video series is going to be the focus.

Let me know who you want to bring to your Living the Dream island!

There are still four married couples on my 3DS island, and my Quality of Life rating is up to 244 stars now.
