Fireworks Fortune

As I started up the game this afternoon, Lyle was bugging me to fill out another questionnaire. I was not interested, so I told him I was busy and went on my way.

So I headed over to Nookington’s to sell everything in my pockets from last time. I then noticed that Tom Nook had some new dialogue for me. He said even though he was born in Forest, he spent part of his life in the big city. While there, he had to endure some hardships that he hasn’t spoken of before.

Tom Nook: Indeed, I had to endure certain hardships that I've never spoken of, hm?But he didn’t want to go into any more detail just yet. Perhaps he’ll save that for a future discussion.

Tom Nook: For now, Jeff, maybe it's best that we forget we ever talked about this.Outside, Kiki was talking about the crawfish, and how it’s in season now. She even told me how to catch one.

Kiki: Trust me, just cast your rod into a pond during the day!I thought she was asking me for one, so I went and caught one. But when I returned to her, she wanted to race to see who could catch an eel first. Ugh, whatever. Well, Big Top was asking me for a crawfish, so I gave it to him. He gave me a ranch bed in return.

I still went on and caught an eel for Kiki. She gave me a brown drum for it.

I found a note in a bottle on the beach, which is the first one I’ve seen lately. Inside, I found a note from…my conscience? 😛

How's it going?! Right now, I'm far, far away. I hope this message reaches you safely. -Your ConscienceI caught a new bug today: the walker cicada!

I caught a walker cicada! These guys chirp funny! As I entered Static’s house, I spotted another bug I needed. It was an orchid mantis on a flower outside his house. Of course, it was gone by the time I came back outside, and I didn’t find another one today. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that in the future.

Rod was all packed up and ready to move out of town. I kept talking to him to tell him to stay, and eventually he said he lost his passport. That’s the same thing that Bill said to me last October, and he stayed, so I think Rod is safe for now.

Rod: I won't be able to move if I don't have my passport, in my ears!I’m not sure why, but Hopper told me I was snail-like.

Hopper: You're all slow and snaily, like a snail...and stuff.

I donated the walker cicada to the museum, sold some stuff, and then did some fishing and bug-hunting. I kept going until I had 100,000 bells to put towards my mortgage. After paying it, I now only owe 20,000 more bells! I should be able to do that next time.

Later on, I returned to the game to see a bit of the fireworks festival.

Fireworks in Animal Crossing: Wild World.I had a chat with Tortimer over by town hall, and he was acting a bit strange. 😛

Tortimer: Fireworks... Smelt... Power... Oh, hi. I was just making a list of things I like. After I got a roman candle and a sparkler from him, he offered to give me my fortune. I wasn’t expecting that. But I accepted it, and this is what it said:

Today's fortune: Giant Explosion. Head: Do as you like. Heart: It's in the air! Belly: It's all good! Fortune favors the brave. After setting off my roman candle, I made my way over to the Roost. There, K.K. Slider performed The K. Funk for me.
