Summer Solstice

Today is the summer solstice–the longest day of the year. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the daylight lasts all day (and night) long!

Isabelle: Hello, Mayor! Today is the Summer Solstice, so don't expect to see the moon at all tonight!
Video game logic.

More than anything else, the presence of fireflies really showcases how odd the night sun really is. The fireflies just seem so out of place.

I made a trip to Arrested, where Michael/Beth and I used the special standee to stick our faces through a flower and the sun.

Michael and Jeff using the face-cutout standee for the summer solstice.Arrested resident Renée asked me why I was visiting another town in the middle of the night.

Renee: Jeff?! Who visits another town in the middle of the night...? Apparently you do, yo yo yo!
Why not? The daylight isn’t suspicious.

When I returned to Forest, Agent S told me how much she loved my eel. She must have seen the outline of it wriggling around in my pockets and thought “I want that!” She gave me 2,000 bells for it.

Agent S: Woohoo! I totally love your eel. What's your price? After picking up my ladder shades from Isabelle at the event plaza, I realized I didn’t mention where Julian moved in last time. He lives next to Hamlet in the southern part of town. This area was never very populated when Peck lived here. Coincidence? I think not.

Speaking of Julian, I had a medieval chat with him tonight.

Julian: Good eventide, Jeff! Finding the Summer Solstice to your liking, milord?Julian: ...OK, enough of that. I indulge in a little medieval talk once a year. Just to get it out of my system.Aurora told me she was going to move away on June 26th, but I quickly changed her mind for her.

Up at Able Sisters, I made a new Cavs pattern: It’s the CLE design from their “blackout” T-shirts.

My most recent dream visitor was Marie from Dragolin. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you next time!

  1. Hamlet lives in my town too! Haha.
Another great blog Jeff! I have not been able to read it lately, but I’ll always assume it is awesome!

  2. Seeing the fireflies in the middle of the night was so weird 😛 Plus, what’s Renee doing up in the middle of the night? Stop judging, rhino!
