I found a goodbye letter from Tybalt the tiger in the mail today. I hardly knew him, but maybe we’ll meet again someday.

Genji was talking about Saharah, and he seemed in awe of her. He said she travels everywhere on her own two feet (two?), so he concluded that she must be in really good shape. Personally, I think Genji just wants to see her lovely camel humps in person.

I had a bunch of stuff in my pockets that I needed to sell, so I headed up to Nookington’s. I was disappointed when I saw that today is raffle day, so I couldn’t sell anything! And with no raffle tickets in my possession, I had no chance at winning this Arwing or the other prizes.

Puck was being quite blunt today, asking me if I’ve gotten fatter! He told me I should avoid eating snacks at this time of day (early afternoon) because it’s a one-way ticket to Porkdom! Wow, how rude!

He said that he can get away with it because he can hide his weight with his clothes. Puck, old friend? You’re not fooling anyone.

Maple asked if I attended the morning aerobics session this morning. Of course I didn’t; that’s too early for me. Back in 2011, I did participate, mainly just to get the aerobics radio. But I don’t plan on doing it again. Anyway, Maple called me a lazybones, and said that breakfast tastes better after a hard, sweaty workout.

Ursala was also talking about the aerobics, but she was far less enthusiastic. She was not a fan of getting up that early. She was actually so tired from it, that she fell asleep after our conversation.

Up by the cliff, I saw Genji and Belle share a kiss! They both started singing, and when I spoke to Belle, she said she was smiling because something happy happened! However, her mood changed after I refused to give her my dinosaur egg in exchange for furniture.

So Belle was angry and steaming, Genji was still happy from the kiss, and then I saw a third animal up above us: It was Teddy! I didn’t even know Teddy lived here!

I went up the ramp to go and meet Teddy. He has lived in Forest before, years ago, before he moved to my 2nd town of Ohio. That Teddy still lives in Ohio, so I now have Teddy in both of my GameCube towns.

And I couldn’t resist catching a couple of these great purple emperor butterflies. Unlike the emperor butterflies in ACCF and ACNL, these emperors are daytime bugs.

I finished up pulling all the weeds I saw, and then went to the wishing well to check my town status. When I saw it was back to perfect, I returned home and ended my game for the day.

Betty sent me a goodbye letter in the mail today. I guess she was too chicken to stick around in Forest. But that’s fine by me; she was a little tough to live with anyway.

Over by the river, Puck told me he wished Forest had a heated pool. But he’s a penguin! Why would he want the pool to be heated? Genji was also nearby, but he refused to back the idea.

Up in Nookington’s, I saw a whirly shirt for sale. It’s not a shirt that I recall seeing very often, and I don’t know if I’ve ever worn one before. But I decided to give it a spin.

As I approached Maple’s house, she quickly went inside. Was she avoiding me? I followed her in to chat for a bit, but she told me it was her bedtime. It was only 6:30 p.m.! That’s beary early to go to sleep; I think she was lying and couldn’t bear to be honest with me.

I found a new house in town, and it belonged to this headband-wearing pig named Hambo. I’ll have to invite him over for dinner sometime.

When I had a chat with Belle, she was being unusually nice. She offered me some free wallpaper or carpeting as a gift. I chose the carpet, and she gave me an imperial tile. But then she accused me of sniffing (?) and she deduced that I thought it wasn’t good enough for me. I don’t know where she gets these ideas.

She ended up calling me an unappreciative big baby, even though I didn’t do anything to cause her to become such a mad cow.

But if she’s going to be mad at me, I might as well give her a reason. So I got my net out and beat her with it. Such bovine divine revenge.

I finished my walk around town, pulling all the weeds I could find (which was a lot). I stopped at the post office and the dump before returning home and ending my night in Forest. See you next time!

I’ll talk about my second town of Ohio a bit later in this entry, but first, here’s what’s going on in Forest: When I started up the game today, I got a goodbye letter from Axel in the mail.

It was raining in town, and the lousy weather put Emerald in a bad mood. She lost her will to do anything. You’d think a frog would like the rain, though.

Puck was talking about the fishing tournaments coming up in June. He’s hoping that baked beans will be the prize for the winner.

Over by Maple’s house, I spotted a new house and animal: Tybalt the yellow tiger! I don’t recall having him before. He seems like a grrrrreat guy to have around town.

Not much else was going on in Forest today, but I do have other things to talk about. For one thing, I made this GIF recently that shows how to change the background of your inventory screen. I know it’s not a new tip or anything, and I’ve mentioned it before. But some people may not know about it…and a GIF is more effective at showing how to do it.

Ohio Update

I’ve been playing in my second town of Ohio a bit lately. Since the town was overrun with weeds, I played after midnight several night until I was able to find Wisp. He wanted me to find all five of his kids spirits. So I hunted around until I caught them all. Wisp was clearly very grateful.

For my reward, I told him to pull weeds. His mood quickly changed; he asked how I could let the weeds get so bad and he whined about how it would take him all night.

But it didn’t take him that long. All I had to do was save and quit my game, and then start back up, and they were gone. It took me longer to track down your little spirit friends than it did for you to pull weeds, so quit complaining!

Several days later, the condition of town had improved. While I didn’t reach perfect town status, I did get it up to satisfactory. And that was enough to reach 15 villagers, which is the maximum. Once I did, Tortimer showed up and offered to build me a third bridge. I didn’t like the first spot he suggested, but he told me I could try again any day but Sunday.

But a few days later, I found him in the spot I wanted, and I had him build the bridge. It’s still a bit tricky getting around, though. I’m not a big fan of the town layout.

Ohio’s current residents are Freckles, Stella, Aurora, Cleo, Leopold, Lulu, Cookie, Deena, Ursala, Chuck, Chico, Chief, Teddy, Yuka, and Nate. I may not keep up with this town on a regular basis, but I do like to check in on it every once in a while.
