Last Weekend for Campers

Sadly, Teddy’s return was a short one. He has already moved on out of Forest; I got his goodbye letter in the mail today.

Teddy's goodbye letter.

It didn’t take me long to meet his replacement. Goose the chicken has moved in near Kody’s house. He seems alright. I’m sure he has a tough side and a tender side, it just takes a while to cook get to know him.

Goose: Folks call me Goose. What about you? You have a name or should I just call you buh-kay?

After stopping at Nookington’s to sell some stuff, I accidentally scared away a huge fish! Ugh! I hate when that happens.

Accidentally scaring away a huge fish shadow.
Ouch.

Down in Acre F-1, I found the tent of a summer camper! This is the last weekend for campers this year, even though this is the first one I’ve seen this summer.

A summer camper's tent near the beach.

Jay the bird was inside, and he wanted to play a game with me. He listed four types of fish, and then asked me which one he caught. If I guessed correctly, he would give me something for my ptera left wing (fossil). If I guessed wrong, he would get my fossil for free.

I guessed that he caught a salmon, and that was wrong. He took my fossil, and then I quickly left his tent without speaking to him again.

Jay: Looks like that ptera left wing is now mine!
Is something wrong with your own wing?

Over at the wishing well, Maple and Belle apparently had a fight. Belle was running around steaming mad. But despite her anger, she couldn’t resist kicking a soccer ball.

An angry Belle kicks around a soccer ball near the wishing well plaza.
She could start up a soccer team: The Forest Mad Cows.

And up at the police station, Copper and Kody were getting friendly. Copper seemed to lean in, but Kody didn’t. Maybe Copper was just trying to sniff him out.

Copper leans forward to greet Kody.Copper told me that Crazy Redd would be in town on Monday, but I don’t plan on playing then.

Anyway, I wrapped up my day after making stops at the post office and dump. See you next time!

Teddy’s Return

I found a goodbye letter from Tybalt the tiger in the mail today. I hardly knew him, but maybe we’ll meet again someday.

Tybalt's goodbye letter.

Genji was talking about Saharah, and he seemed in awe of her. He said she travels everywhere on her own two feet (two?), so he concluded that she must be in really good shape. Personally, I think Genji just wants to see her lovely camel humps in person.

Genji: ...I bet she's in really good shape! I'd love to meet her!

I had a bunch of stuff in my pockets that I needed to sell, so I headed up to Nookington’s. I was disappointed when I saw that today is raffle day, so I couldn’t sell anything! And with no raffle tickets in my possession, I had no chance at winning this Arwing or the other prizes.

Tom Nook's raffle day prizes included an Arwing from Star Fox.

Puck was being quite blunt today, asking me if I’ve gotten fatter! He told me I should avoid eating snacks at this time of day (early afternoon) because it’s a one-way ticket to Porkdom! Wow, how rude!

Puck: Especially at this time of day. Eating snacks now is like a first-class, one-way ticket to Porkom.

He said that he can get away with it because he can hide his weight with his clothes. Puck, old friend? You’re not fooling anyone.

Puck: Me? I hide my weight with my clothes, so I can eat whatever, whenever. Ka-ching!

Maple asked if I attended the morning aerobics session this morning. Of course I didn’t; that’s too early for me. Back in 2011, I did participate, mainly just to get the aerobics radio. But I don’t plan on doing it again. Anyway, Maple called me a lazybones, and said that breakfast tastes better after a hard, sweaty workout.

Maple: I know getting up by 6:00 every morning must be rough on a lazybones like yourself, but come on!

Ursala was also talking about the aerobics, but she was far less enthusiastic. She was not a fan of getting up that early. She was actually so tired from it, that she fell asleep after our conversation.

Ursala: What sort of sadist would drag me out of bed this early in the morning?

Up by the cliff, I saw Genji and Belle share a kiss! They both started singing, and when I spoke to Belle, she said she was smiling because something happy happened! However, her mood changed after I refused to give her my dinosaur egg in exchange for furniture.

So Belle was angry and steaming, Genji was still happy from the kiss, and then I saw a third animal up above us: It was Teddy! I didn’t even know Teddy lived here!

Belle is angry, Genji is happy, and Teddy looks down on us from on the cliff.
You may see this full scene in a future video. 😉

I went up the ramp to go and meet Teddy. He has lived in Forest before, years ago, before he moved to my 2nd town of Ohio. That Teddy still lives in Ohio, so I now have Teddy in both of my GameCube towns.

Teddy: My name's Teddy. It's a pleasure meeting you, Jeff!

And I couldn’t resist catching a couple of these great purple emperor butterflies. Unlike the emperor butterflies in ACCF and ACNL, these emperors are daytime bugs.

Yes! I caught a great purple emperor butterfly! This butterfly supposedly comes from a far-off island!

I finished up pulling all the weeds I saw, and then went to the wishing well to check my town status. When I saw it was back to perfect, I returned home and ended my game for the day.

Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you next time!

Call Me Yo

Betty sent me a goodbye letter in the mail today. I guess she was too chicken to stick around in Forest. But that’s fine by me; she was a little tough to live with anyway.

Over by the river, Puck told me he wished Forest had a heated pool. But he’s a penguin! Why would he want the pool to be heated? Genji was also nearby, but he refused to back the idea.

Puck: Yeah... I really wish Forest had maybe a heated pool or something...

Up in Nookington’s, I saw a whirly shirt for sale. It’s not a shirt that I recall seeing very often, and I don’t know if I’ve ever worn one before. But I decided to give it a spin.

Tommy: That would be a whirly shirt you're looking at.

As I approached Maple’s house, she quickly went inside. Was she avoiding me? I followed her in to chat for a bit, but she told me it was her bedtime. It was only 6:30 p.m.! That’s beary early to go to sleep; I think she was lying and couldn’t bear to be honest with me.

Maple: Maybe you're just starting your day, but mine's almost done! It's my bedtime, and I'm going to bed.

I found a new house in town, and it belonged to this headband-wearing pig named Hambo. I’ll have to invite him over for dinner sometime.

Hambo: Folks call me Hambo. What about you? You have a name or should I just call you yo?
Call me yo.

When I had a chat with Belle, she was being unusually nice. She offered me some free wallpaper or carpeting as a gift. I chose the carpet, and she gave me an imperial tile. But then she accused me of sniffing (?) and she deduced that I thought it wasn’t good enough for me. I don’t know where she gets these ideas.

Belle: ...What? Did you just sniff? Do you have some kinda problem, in a tutu? She ended up calling me an unappreciative big baby, even though I didn’t do anything to cause her to become such a mad cow.

Belle: You got it for free! FOR FREE, you big baby! Show some appreciation, in a tutu!

But if she’s going to be mad at me, I might as well give her a reason. So I got my net out and beat her with it. Such bovine divine revenge.

I finished my walk around town, pulling all the weeds I could find (which was a lot). I stopped at the post office and the dump before returning home and ending my night in Forest. See you next time!
