Making Maple Cry

While walking around Forest tonight, I found the daily money rock. But because of the limited space at the top of the cliff, I was only able to get five money bags out of it (for 2,300 bells).

Money bags on the cliff.I made a rare trip inside Maple’s house, and wow, is she obsessed with bears!

Maple's house full of stuffed bears. She said she was thinking about moving out soon. She asked if I would miss her if she did. I said no.

Maple: Would you miss me if I moved away?I know some people think Maple is sweet, but I just think she’s sappy. And I don’t believe your answer makes a difference on GameCube anyway. But still, she started bawling her eyes out.

Maple: How cruel! I had no idea you were so mean!Animated GIF of Maple crying (Animal Crossing).I continued my walk around town, pulling up weeds along the way. I saw Genji kicking a soccer ball around.

Tom: You don't look so far all of a sudden. You lose weight?I completed my loop around town and stopped at the post office on my way back home.

Here Comes the Rain Again

As expected, Tortimer was waiting for me outside my house when I started up the game.

Tortimer: Ho there, Jeff!Once again, he scolded me for not turning the lighthouse on every night while he was gone.

Tortimer: I hope it didn't cause trouble for the folks out at sea. When I checked my mail, I found a goodbye letter from Fang.

Fang's goodbye letter.Of course the snow on the ground has all melted away, and the grass is green again. But it’s hard to enjoy the grass when it’s pouring rain.

Puck: I have this problem opening umbrellas, so I always get soaked.I got a nice surprise when I dug up the day’s glowing spot; it contained 10,000 bells instead of the usual 1,000 bells. Nice! I later found Gulliver washed up on the beach and I woke him up.

Gulliver: I was attacked! It was a really big shark! He gave me a fishing bear, which is an item that didn’t make it to City Folk.

A fishing bear item in Animal Crossing.I also got to meet my new neighbor Rolf, a white tiger. I had him in City Folk before; he’s pretty cool.

Rolf: Nice to meet you.I then stopped at the post office before returning home.

Inside the Lighthouse

While making my way through the snow, I saw an igloo and went inside. Genji was in there, and I agreed to play a game with him. I lost the game, so I had to buy his rare painting. But fortunately, he only charged me 750 bells for it.

Genji: OK! Now pretend the two of us are wrestling.I walked past the lighthouse and decided to turn it on, at least for one night. Tortimer is still going to be mad at me when he returns though.

Inside the lighthouse (Animal Crossing).I ran into Ursala and she was ranting about Wendell. She called him a picky vagrant! A bit harsh, I think.

Just thinking about picky vagrants makes me so mad I want to scratch!Kody saw me and wanted to buy my rare painting for 1,320 bells. That’s almost twice what I paid for it. Nice deal.

Kody: I'll buy your rare painting for 1,320 bells.I then returned home to get out of the cold. The snow will be gone in one week, so until then, I’ll be dreaming of spring.
