Christmas Eve

I started up the game tonight and it was snowing in Forest. The Christmas Eve festival was going on.

A special message to you all! Happy holidays! But despite the holiday, the animals were definitely not in a giving mood. Candi wanted me to pay 5,000 bells for an exquisite wall. What a rip-off!

Candi: It'll be 5,000 bells for the exquisite wall (including handling charges).Static took it a step farther by forcing me to buy an item! It was one of those games where he lists five items, one at a time, and you have to choose which one you want or else you’ll be stuck buying the fifth item. As usual, I waited for the one that was under 1,000 bells.

Static: It's a Maki figurine for 910 bells! After that, I decided not to talk to most of my other villagers tonight. I eventually found Jingle, the black-nosed reindeer.

Jingle: Look at all this snow! It's a white winter! How romantic! He even says “Ho ho ho!”

Jingle: I'm the luckiest reindeer in the whole world! Ho ho ho!I didn’t have the time or desire to keep searching for him the five times required to get Jingle furniture, so I ended my game after a quick stop at the post office.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Gearing Up for the Holidays

Once again, it was snowing in Forest today. I got a letter in the mail from Groucho. He just moved out of town.

Groucho's goodbye letter.I then went to meet my newest neighbor, Grizzly.

Grizzly: Nice to meet you, grrr...!I talked to Puck, and he’s really looking forward to Christmas.

Puck: I've been good this year, so I'll probably get something really tasty! But Static seems more interested in the New Year’s Eve countdown.

Static: I wonder how cold it's gonna be on the night of the countdown? When I went by the wishing well, Sydney randomly ran by, kicking a basketball. Alrighty then…

Sydney kicking a ball near the wishing well.By the post office, Tom ran up to Copper, and then they both leaned in…for a kiss, apparently! This isn’t the first time I’ve caught them doing that, either! I wonder if Copper had some mistletoe hanging from his hat!

Tom and Copper lean in for a kiss?Emerald was asking me why snow is white when water is clear.

Emerald: If it's clear when it's water, why does it turn white when it freezes?I pulled some weeds, mailed some fossils away, and then ended my game for the night.

Snow on the Ground

I started up my game and saw that snow now covers the ground. That’s a day earlier than in City Folk.

Snow appears on the ground December 10th on GameCube.I talked to Candi and she was talking about the legendary living fossil (the coelacanth). She asked if I had heard of it, and when I told her I’ve already caught one before, she freaked out. She was upset that I caught one before she did.

Candi: Why? Why did you have to beat me?I also noticed that some trees now have Christmas lights on them. Forest is looking quite Christmasy. If that’s a word.

Christmas lights on trees. After stopping at Nook’s, I continued around town and saw Static. He was talking about Wisp until he spooked himself out.

Static: Yow! I just gave myself the shivers, on bread.I then saw Katrina’s tent, so I went inside to have my fortune told. She basically told me some good things may happen and some bad things may happen. In other words, it was a neutral fortune that doesn’t affect anything.

Katrina: In an attic, a safety-conscious bucket of glue will be sleeping heavily.A lot of the animals were mentioning Jingle, who comes on December 24th. Hank went so far as to imply that he was going to steal Jingle’s red suit for himself!

Hank: This year, I'm gonna get me that cool red outfit!I then mailed some fossils away and headed for home.
