Igloo Season

After stopping at Nook’s to sell some fossils I got back in the mail, I made my way around town. I talked to Static, who told me that he painted my roof black.

Static: I painted it black, like you told me to.Continuing on, I spotted an igloo. It’s the first one I’ve seen this winter.

First igloo of the season.Genji the rabbit was inside.

Genji: Hey! You were going to eat my chowder while I slept, weren't you!?I talked to him a few times, but he didn’t ask me to play one of his igloo games. That was fine with me, since I wasn’t in the mood to get ripped off anyway.

I then talked to Rocco, and he was complaining about Totakeke (better known as K.K. Slider or just K.K.).

Rocco: His music always really gets to me.I also talked to Hank, the green chicken. He’s a night owl like me.

Hank: I feel like I could stay up all night! Wah ha ha!I stopped in the police station to grab some free paper from Booker. I had a bunch of new fossils to mail away for identification.

Booker: Oh, that's felt paper. I think. Would that be yours? After a stop at the post office to mail those fossils, I pulled a few weeds and then headed for home.

Happy New Year!

Even though I didn’t watch the New Year’s countdown at the lake, I did start the game up about 20 minutes into the new year. I got a goodbye letter from Grizzly.

Grizzly's goodbye letter.I then headed over to the lake, where the celebration was still going on.

New Year's celebration.Static, Tom, Kody, and Robin were there. (All blue animals?)

Tom: Happy New Year! I'll be counting on your friendship this year, too!And of course Tortimer was there as well.

Tortimer: It's not too late for me yet! I've got plenty of energy! Maybe I'll even dance! On my way back, I ran into Wisp. He asked me to find his five spirits.

Wisp: I must ask you to collect all five spirts by 4:00 a.m.Even though there is some festive music that plays at the lake, the music away from the celebration is even better. It’s a soothing rendition of Auld Lang Syne. So I hunted for spirits while listening to some cool music…not a bad way to start out 2013.

I caught a spirit! It feels so ectoplasmic!Along the way, I met Rocco, my new neighbor.

Rocco: Good to meet you, hippie! After three trips around town, I had only found four of the five spirits I needed. I didn’t really need my weeds pulled, since I already had perfect town status, so I just gave up the search. I then released the four little spirits into the night.

Releasing Wisp's spirits.Happy new year, everyone!

Christmas Eve

I started up the game tonight and it was snowing in Forest. The Christmas Eve festival was going on.

A special message to you all! Happy holidays! But despite the holiday, the animals were definitely not in a giving mood. Candi wanted me to pay 5,000 bells for an exquisite wall. What a rip-off!

Candi: It'll be 5,000 bells for the exquisite wall (including handling charges).Static took it a step farther by forcing me to buy an item! It was one of those games where he lists five items, one at a time, and you have to choose which one you want or else you’ll be stuck buying the fifth item. As usual, I waited for the one that was under 1,000 bells.

Static: It's a Maki figurine for 910 bells! After that, I decided not to talk to most of my other villagers tonight. I eventually found Jingle, the black-nosed reindeer.

Jingle: Look at all this snow! It's a white winter! How romantic! He even says “Ho ho ho!”

Jingle: I'm the luckiest reindeer in the whole world! Ho ho ho!I didn’t have the time or desire to keep searching for him the five times required to get Jingle furniture, so I ended my game after a quick stop at the post office.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
