Autumn Sports Fair

Unfortunately (but predictably), Butch has moved out of town. I got his goodbye letter in the mail.

Butch's goodbye letter. The autumn sports fair was held today. I didn’t wake up early enough for the first event (aerobics), but I joined in time for the second event, the foot race. In the first race, Belle defeated Genji–a cow outrunning a rabbit?? That’s udderly impossible!

Belle, at the sports fair: My heart's totally pounding! I think maybe I overdid it!Next up, it was Static against Sydney. Static won in a close race.

Maple firing a gun to start the race at the sports fair.I then went to meet my new neighbor, Hopper the penguin.

Meeting Hopper. At 1:00, the day’s next event started: The ball toss. This is my favorite event. This time, Candi and Baabara were Team Whiteballs.

Candi: All right, I'm done! Can't we just finish this dumb game? While my two favorite villagers, Tom and Hank, were Team Redballs.

At 3:00, the day’s final event started: The tug-of-war. Tom was the flag-waver, while Genji and Robin teamed up against Static and Baabara.

Tug of war: Genji and Robin vs. Static and Baabara.I then wrapped up my day in Forest. The sports fair only comes twice a year, and even though you can’t really participate, it is nice for a change of pace. It can be amusing to see the animals you like (or dislike) in unique situations that are unlike anything else you’d see in an Animal Crossing game. Happy autumn, everyone!

The autumn sports fair is coming up next Saturday, so a lot of the animals in town are talking about it. Puck, for example, wants a hot-dog eating competition added to the list of events.

Puck: Every fall, I tell the sponsors that they should add a hotdog-eating contest to the event list.Butch mentioned it as well, but wondered what the fuss was all about. By the way, my town tune (Pumped-Up Kicks) still sounds best when “performed” by Butch, just like it does in City Folk.

Butch: Why does everyone get so excited over a sports fair in autumn?I was by the ocean and thought I’d just test the waters, so to speak. The sea bass are indeed back. 🙁

Catching a sea bass.I talked to Kody and he somehow knew exactly how much money I was carrying. He then wanted me to buy his classic carpet for the full amount of 36,235 bells! When I said no, he got mad! The nerve of some people!

Kody: Wow! It looks like you've got 36,235 bells! Where'd you get that wad? After that, I promptly went to the post office to deposit my money. But I always keep 10,000 bells in my pocket for any purchases I may decide to make. After that, I returned home to make my house tour video. Yes, this is the day I finally show off my house!

My first floor is a space maze. Filled with asteroids, satellites, and other space items, I make my way through the maze to reach the treasure chest.

My space-themed room.My upstairs room is my pride and joy. The room of fire. Filled with bonfires and campfires, it makes for my most dramatic room design, at least since my Mouth of Truth shrine in my 2007 house tour.

My fire room. And last but not least is my basement. It hasn’t changed much over the years, mainly because I use it for storage of my models, NES games, special items, and other things. The only notable addition is the aerobics radio. I made sure to do a few stretches.

I hope you like my new house design! Thank you all for reading my blog and watching my videos!

Buzz Moved Out. Wait, Who?

I checked my mail and got a goodbye letter. Buzz moved out.

Buzz's goodbye letter.H…huh? Wait just a second here. When did Buzz move IN? Looking at my previous blog entries, I see Octavian moved out on September 1st. But I didn’t mention who moved in. With being distracted by the loss of Octavian and the beginning of September fishing, I must have forgotten to go meet my new neighbor that day. And apparently, that was Buzz. But he’s gone now. BUZZ! No points for me! I’ve made a tiny huge mistake.

Well, I wasn’t going to make that same mistake again today. So after selling yesterday’s fish at Nook’s, I went to meet my new neighbor Butch. I had Butch in my City Folk town for a while last year. I like him.

Butch: I'm Butch. Nice to meet you.I then did some ocean fishing and sold my catches. That gave me enough money to bump my bank account balance over the 16 million bell mark.

Phyllis: Your balance is 16,032,947 bells.I went in my house and worked on my main room a little bit. I now have a more specific idea of what I’ll be doing in here. It’s just a matter of ordering, ordering, ordering what I need from my catalog.

Tom Nook: I'll send your order to you by mail.I really wish you could order multiples of an item instead of having to purchase them one at a time. Anyway, I looked at my calendar and saw that the autumn sports fair is September 22nd. That means it’s on a Saturday this year. I hope I remember to participate. 🙂
