A Night in May West

It’s Wednesday, so I headed to Crazy Redd’s shop to check out his new items. He had a froggy chair, a flowery painting, and a sandbag.

A froggy chair, a flowery painting, and a sandbag up for sale at Crazy Redd's shop. While watering my flowers, I saw Wendell walking around.

Wendell walking around town.I ran into Avery near the Able Sisters, and he asked me to make a delivery to Iggly.

Avery: OK, so we're set. Just walk this over to Iggly's place, landlubber!Iggly was standing near his house. I gave him the present; it was a steel flooring and he loved it. As a side note, this picture is the 3,000th picture I’ve saved:

Iggly: Really? From Avery? Right on! It's finally here, waddler.I quickly went back to where Avery was, but he was nowhere to be found. I had to search my town for 5-10 minutes before I found him. My pockets were full though, so he said he would mail my reward to me.

Avery: I'll send you a token of my gratitude by mail, OK? Just keep your pants on 'til it gets there, landlubber. At 8:00, Megan invited me over to her town May West. It has been a long time since anyone has invited me to their town (aside from quick Katie drop-offs), so it was nice to play in someone else’s town for a change. Yann was also invited, as was Ness–but Ness was having Wi-Fi trouble and was unable to come. I went to say hello to Savannah.

Savannah: Jeff, you're here! What a treat!I saw she again has a second bed in her house, so I asked her if I could move in. To my surprise, she actually seemed to agree, saying her house was my house.

Jeff: I can move in? Savannah: Please make yourself right at home! My place is yours, apple pie!We went into Nook’s and I tried to buy green paint for Megan’s house. Of course, Nook wouldn’t allow it. He was even rude about it, telling me he wasn’t going to walk to Forest and he told me not to ask about it again.

Tom Nook: Sadly, I can't sell it to people from out of town. While Megan went away, I posted a message on her bulletin board.

-Nook Special- We got a very special item in today! Yes, it's Megg's Eggs! Come check it out! Nook 'n' GoMegan created another character named Guest (just like my second character). Guest has a warm, cozy room that I liked a lot. But I think my favorite room in May West was Megan’s cool music room with lots of instruments. It’s a fun place to hang out.

Megan's music room, with lots of musical instruments.Megan then introduced us to a game she has been working on for a long time. Two competitors (me and Yann in this case) dig through a bunch of buried items to find three seashells (each of a different kind). Most of the items buried are gyroids, which you must re-bury before you can dig up another item.

One at a time, you must run the seashells to another area where you have to go through a minefield (filled with pitfall seeds) to put the seashell in a specially marked spot. The first person with all three shells in place wins the game. After explaining the rules, Yann and I played the game and I won.

Megan: Jeff wins!I got to pick a prize, and it was a fire hydrant.

Megan: What is it? Jeff: A fire hydrant. xDYann and I changed positions and played again; I was blue for the first game and then red for the second game. Megan watched us as we fell in the pitfalls (surely she was laughing at our distress).

Me falling into a pitfall while playing Megan's shell game.I again won the second game. Since setting up the game requires so much work, I suggested she just reset the game so that everything is back in place. We found out that the contents of presents are decided when you open the present, not when the present is shot down. In other words, they contained different items after resetting than they did the first time.

Yann did some dancing in one of Megan’s rooms, so Megan and I joined in.

Yann, Megan, and Jeff "dancing" by chairs. We decided to have a fishing competition (with sunglasses on), and we took a picture showing off our cool fish-catching shades.

Megan, Jeff, and Yann wearing sunglasses on the beach. It must have been my lucky night, because I won this game as well.

Jeff: 15 fish. Megan: 13 fish. Yann: 8 fish. After selling our catches (I caught a hammerhead shark), I asked Megan to save the game. After she did, I found myself in an unexpected place.

Me standing back at my own gate.I was back at the gate, but it was my gate. She accidentally ended the party instead of saving the game. 😀 I returned to her town for a little while longer, but soon left for the night. I had a good time. 🙂

UPDATE: Here is a video of us playing Megan’s shell game.
