Explorer’s Day and Katie

Today is Explorer’s Day (Columbus Day), and Tortimer was at town hall to talk about the holiday.

Tortimer: The finer points escape me, but today is all about exploring...stuff. I think...He gave me a sailboat model to celebrate the occasion.

A sailboat model on display in my house.I then took the bus to the city to check out this week’s emotions.

Clerk: What show would you like to see today?Back in Forest, I talked to Eloise and found out she considers herself a fashion model.

Eloise: Keep making more, so I'll always have more designs to try out! Consider me your fashion model!I then saw Jambette. And my belief is that any day of the week that ends in the letter “Y” is a good day to pitfall Jambette. So I did.

Jambette stuck in a pitfall.Avery asked me for a new catchphrase. I tried to think of an appropriate phrase for an eagle, and I went with “in the air.”

Avery: If you talk to someone with a really distinctive catchphrase, it can be infectious, in the air.I then heard a sound I hate to hear: Katie’s crying.

Katie: Sniff... Snorf... I c-can't find my mommy...Her mom was in May West (Megan’s town). Anyway, I continued talking to the animals I saw. Egbert told me he’s afraid Bob is going to eat him.

Egbert: And all of a sudden, I feel like creme brulee, and Bob is about to stick a fork in me!I then listened in on a conversation Egbert had with Avery. It was about kids’ meals.

Avery: We didn't have pacifiers either, so we used squids! Not as fancy, but it did the job just fine!Egbert then asked me for a catchphrase. I had him say “on a pizza.”

Egbert: Yeah, I dig it! I'm gonna start using it right away, on a pizza! As soon as I told Megan I had Katie in my town, she offered to open her gate right away. That was pretty awesome of her. So Katie and I headed over to May West.

The lost kitten Katie follows me to the gate. The cats were reunited and I was very glad to be rid of them.

Jeff: Thank you very much. Megan: Hiya.I then returned to Forest to look for Pete. I found him, which meant today is not a UFO day. That saves me a lot of time and effort. If Katie hadn’t been returned to May West before 5:30, I would not have been able to tell if it was a UFO day or not, and I would have had to keep checking for the UFO for several hours.

Anyway, since Pete was out and Tortimer was out, I decided to take a rare picture of them together before I ended my game for the day.
