July Bug-Off

I saw Lolly up in the city today, wondering what was showing at the marquee theater. I wouldn’t know, since I don’t go in there any more, but it was good to see her again.

Lolly: I wonder what's going on over at the Marquee right now, bonbon...My old friend Puck was also in the city, talking about getting a haircut. He said his hair was shaggier than a shredded paintbrush! Really? It doesn’t even look like he has hair!

Puck: I was thinking about getting a haircut today 'cause I'm shaggier than a shredded paintbrush!Back in Forest, Lily was talking about today’s Bug-Off competition. But she said there was a problem…maybe she should try catching the bugs with her net instead of her tongue.

Lily: Everyone else entered, so, of course, I had to enter, too. But there's a little problem...Kiki wasn’t participating in the bug-catching. Instead, she was chilling in her house. She told me she put a lot of effort into her room. I tried not to laugh.

Kiki: I put a lot of effort into the look of my room... Can't you just tell?I circled around town and eventually spoke with Nat himself. He’s the judge of the Bug-Off competition, and he told me to find rare bugs for him.

Nat: In the mean, I ask that you search out rare bugs and bring them back here to me forthwith!I was a bit too lazy to catch any bugs myself, but I returned later to see who won. Octavian was the final winner, with a 55-point jewel beetle.

Nat: The 55-point jewel beetle caught by Octavian from right here in Forest. And before the night ended, I went up to the Roost to check the Saturday night performance. K.K. sang one of my favorite songs, K.K. Cruisin’.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Cruisin'.
