Friga asked me to make a delivery to Cousteau tonight, so I did the deed. Say what you want about Cousteau, but he makes some of the most expressive, funny faces of any villager in the game.
When I went up to the house nearby, I had to pause for a moment. This is where Angus lived, but he’s gone now. I was shocked to see that this house belongs to Static!
Static has been one of my favorite villagers from my GameCube town for years. I’m glad to have him in my City Folk town now too! He instantly became my favorite villager in town.
With the NBA playoffs well underway, I put on my Cavaliers flag logo design as my shirt. Go Cavs!
I was looking for a certain item, so I switched to my Guest character so that I could check out his storage. I also looked through his mail, some of which has been sitting in the mailbox (or in my mail storage unread) for a very long time. I don’t use my Guest character very often, and even when I do, I generally don’t pay attention to the mail he received. It was bittersweet to find a letter from Bob here; he sent me a tennis table. It’s like a gift from the grave.
The other letters included multiple Mother’s Day and Father’s Day notices, and even a few leftover DLC items I never opened! I just plopped down the carnations from Mom and Dad.
Unfortunately, Guest didn’t have the item I was looking for. Neither did Scott. So I switched back to my Jeff character. I put my New Year’s shirts on display…minus the 2009 shirt. That’s what I was looking for, and apparently I never saved that one for some reason. And now I’m kicking myself.
Here’s how they look from the front:
Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of the last night of online play for ACCF and other Wii games. If you’d like to relive that last night, view that blog entry or view the video of that night’s events, Wi-Fi Moments #62.
The fishing tournament was held today. To win, you had to catch the largest black bass. After catching one, I took it to Chip and he measured it.
It wasn’t big enough to take away the top spot from Lily, but I continued fishing. My third black bass set a new record!
Chip gave me a black bishop as my prize. I hung around until night fell in Forest; Chip then confirmed that my fish hung on to the top spot for the rest of the day. I won the tournament! And it seems that Chip sprouted some mouse ears!
Mallary was sick in her house, asking for medicine.
So I went to the store and bought her…nothing! If that’s the end of her, then so be it. I’ve never liked her, and she’s lived in town way too long.
Twiggy asked me for some new clothes, but I didn’t have any extra shirts in my pockets. So I bought a spade shirt from Able Sisters and gave it to her. She enjoyed it, and she gave me some cash as a reward. You can probably guess how much: 552 bells. Deja vu.
As expected, Angus was all packed up and ready to move out of town. He will be gone by the next time I play.
The only thing that’s gonna be toasty is the bun you’re going on.
