Trapped with Broccolo

Mallary has officially moved out of Forest. I got her goodbye letter in the mail.

Mallary's goodbye letter. The Bug-Off competition was held today, but I played much too late in the day to participate. Nat, the judge and taste-tester, told me that Kitt was the ultimate winner. She caught a 53-point diving beetle that beat out everyone else. (Whoever else participated must not have been trying very hard).

Nat: The 53-point diving beetle caught by Kitt from right here in Forest.Saturday night is K.K. night, and I just barely made it to the Roost before midnight. He performed K.K. Casbah for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Casbah. And when I visited Broccolo, I temporarily got stuck in his house! There was only one way out, and he was standing in that one corner! I was unable to push him, so I couldn’t force my way out! Fortunately, he did move out of the way after a short time, but it is a bit frustrating when that happens.

Broccolo blocks the only way out of his house.
Move it, mouse!

Duck Departure Day

Friga informed me that Wendell was in town today. Of course, I had no need to speak to the starving walrus, but thanks for the info anyway.

Friga: But he's always more interested in scarfing down food than showing off his designs!
Well the guy has to eat.

Today is Mallary’s moving day! At last! It’s good to see her all packed up in boxes. Get the duck out of town.

Mallary: I'm getting ready to move out of town, like we talked about.Fang told me he likes to get his buddies to hide in deep shadows. It sounded a bit creepy, but he was really just asking me to play hide-and-seek. Thankfully.

Fang: One thing I do is get some buddies to hide in the deep shadows, then I go after them, see?He gave me 15 minutes to find him, Kitt, and Cousteau. But first he had to use the bathroom.

Fang leans out from behind the bulletin board, to see if the coast is clear. After finding Fang behind the bulletin board, I found Kitt hiding behind Cousteau’s house.

Kitt hides behind Cousteau's house during a game of hide and seek.It took me a while to find Cousteau, though. He was hiding behind’s Scott’s house. With the game completed, Fang rewarded me with a mini howloid.

Fang: Here, have a mini howloid. You deserve a little something for that performance.
Getting a howloid from a wolf seems strangely appropriate.

Collecting Old Carpets

Saharah was in town today, looking for old carpets.

Saharah: Your old carpets, you will bring them to me, yes?As I made my way around Forest, I stopped at the river to fish out a large shadow. It turned out to be an arowana, which is worth 10,000 bells.

Me catching a large fish in the river from my bridge. The fish turned out to be an arowana.Back behind Nook ‘n’ Go, Fang was the first of my villagers to hand over an old carpet today.

Fang: Well, you came knocking at the right time. I was just about to drag this rug over to her myself! It's all yours!Bunnie didn’t have a carpet for me, but when I spoke to her again after she told me no, she got very defensive. Apparently, she thought that I thought she was lying.

Bunnie: What are you accusing me of? I may be messy at times, but I'm not hiding anything!Twiggy had an old carpet for me, as did Bud. But Bud didn’t realize that the “Eyelash Lady” actually had a name!

Bud: So, that lady with the huge eyelashes is Saharah? All this time I've been calling her "Eyelash Lady"!I couldn’t ask Cousteau for old carpets, because he was still sick with a cold. I did buy him some more medicine, however.

Cousteau flips in the air as he takes his medicine.Still, I ended up with three old carpets, which is very good. Most of the time, I’m lucky to get two of them. So I took the three carpets back to Saharah, and she gave me a basement floor. Very disappointing.

Saharah: Here...a basement floor. Very exotic... Treasure it. It is a very rare thing. She’s crazy. She thinks a basement floor is very exotic?! That floored me!
