Big Top Picky About Tops

Tiffany was at home today, so I got to see the inside of her house for the first time (since she moved back in). One odd thing I noticed is that she put her dartboard directly in front of her window!

I attended K.K. Slider’s concert at the Roost tonight, and he performed “Steep Hill” for me. It’s one of my favorites.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Steep Hill.

Big Top told me that he got a letter from his mom, in a coma! But he said not to worry, because it’s nothing serious! (When has a coma not been serious?)

Big Top: I just got a letter from my mom, in a coma. Oh, don't worry, it's nothing serious!

In a very indirect way, he was asking me for some new clothes. I wanted to help him out, but Big Top was being picky about tops. Here’s a list of the clothes I got for him…that he turned down because they weren’t cool enough:

  • A gaudy sweater, from Able Sisters.
  • A samurai suit, from Able Sisters.
  • A Latin uniform, from Able Sisters.
  • A seven-ball shirt, from the lost and found.
  • A club shirt, from off my back!
Big Top: Oh, um... Well, this outfit doesn't say cool as much as I was hoping it would.

He turned down five shirts! I went above and beyond any reasonable expectations, trying to help him out. But nothing was acceptable to him, so I guess he’s just not going to look “cool.” You’re on your own, buddy.

See you all next week!

Unwanted Rabbit Returns

As I started up the game today, I was notified that the fishing tournament was underway. I still have my green mohawk and red balloon, while the blue mail sign was up and the gold roses continue lining my paths. It was a colorful scene, so I snapped a photo.

Hey, everybody! The Fishing Tourney is going on now!

As Willow informed me, the tournament is only for crucian carp. Willow bragged about being in the lead with a footlong fish.

Willow: I'm currently in first place with a 12.0-inch crucian carp, bo peep!

In the southeast corner of town, right near the beach (where Nana lived), I found a new house. Tiffany just moved in.

Tiffany: Well, the rumors are true! I am the newly arrived Tiffany that the whole town is talking about!

She has lived in Forest before, leaving in 2020. Some of you may remember me pitfalling her or dropping a large snowball on her head. I don’t like her.

I kept an eye out in the river as I made my way around town, and I caught a few crucian carp.

I caught a crucian carp! I'm looking pretty sharp!

My first couple of fish measured 9.9 and 11.1 inches, respectively. Not enough to take over the top spot. So I went back to the river and caught three more of Chip’s desired fish. My third fish overall measured 10.5 inches, which was still too small. But the 4th try was the charm: It measured 13.0 inches, and that put me atop the leaderboard! Chip gave me a claw-foot tub as a prize.

Chip: And of course, the prize... A claw-foot tub! Yes! All for you!

I went ahead and gave Chip my last fish too, and it measured 13.2 inches. So I beat my own record!

Chip: Psst, kiddo. You know you just beat yourself, right? Congrats! Good for you!
This time, he gave me a bird bath.

When I started up the game later tonight, I found a letter from Chip in the mail. He confirmed that I won the tournament with my 13-inch crucian carp, and he sent me a silver trophy.

I wrapped up my night with a song at the Roost. I asked K.K. Slider for a random tune, and he performed “Mr. K.K.” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Mr. K.K..

Better Sleigh Than Never

Today I received Biskit’s goodbye letter in the mail. I knew it would be coming, but it’s still sad to say goodbye. He was such a good dog. 🐶

Dear Jeff, Moving day is finally here, and I keep thinking of the fun times we had. Those memories are what I'll take with me to my new town, not just boxes and stuff. I'll miss you! -Biskit

Rosie told me about a contest to find the next Little Miss Baked Ziti, and she asked if I would like to do it together. I assume she meant helping her out or whatever. 😛 But then she remembered that I was a guy, and she said boys are too stinky to enter.

Rosie: YOU can't enter! You're a BOY! Boys are too stinky to enter a contest like this. Everyone knows that.
You don’t have to be rude and call me stinky. 😛

I helped out Antonio by delivering a gift to Sydney for him. He thanked me for the favor by giving me a sleigh. It may be a bit out of season now, but it’s still an ice gift.

Moments later, Big Top wanted that same sleigh.

Big Top: Hey, could I have your sleigh to remind me of you?

I told him he could have it for free, but he paid me 368 bells for it anyway.

I took the bus out to the city and walked into Shampoodle. St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, so I paid 3,000 bells to make my annual transformation into Mohawk McClover.

Mohawk McClover stands in the Shampoodle salon.

Phineas was standing in the city, so I asked him for a balloon. Unlike last year, he gave me a red one this time…so it didn’t match my outfit.

Later on tonight, I returned to the game. I attended K.K. Slider’s show in the Roost, where he performed “Soulful K.K.” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Soulful K.K..

There was a meteor shower going on in the sky tonight, so I stopped to watch a few of them go by.

Two shooting stars fly overhead.
“Ahh, there goes two!”
