Fang-Tastic Lineup

Pascal was in town Wednesday, so I gave him a scallop. After wondering where pepper comes from (since salt comes from the ocean), he jumped into the river.

Pascal jumped into the river.

I followed him to the waterfall and watched him go over the falls.

Pascal goes over the waterfall in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Moments later, I spotted a new house in town. Robin’s replacement has moved in, and it’s none other than Fang the wolf! Pretty cool!

Fang: Wait a minute, who are you? Were you in one of these boxes? Oh, you live in this town?

This town has actually become quite a good collection of villagers. I currently have Biskit, Marina, Fang, Big Top, Rosie, Nana, Mint, Antonio, Felicity, and Monty. Those last two may be mid, but I like everyone else. And there’s nobody that I strongly dislike. Can’t complain about this lineup!

Felicity told me she’s not into bugs in general, but she does love the cute bugs! I’m not sure which ones those would be, though.

Felicity: I'm out here catching bugs to complete my field guide of totally cute insects.

I later had an 80-minute bug-hunting session, and I’ve since posted a gameplay video of that session. If you’d like, you can watch that on Youtube.

I played again today, and a dog without eyes met me at the top of the ramp, telling me he was waiting for to come outside!

Biskit: I was waiting for you to come outside and play, dumbbell!

It almost sounds a bit threatening if you don’t know Biskit. 😛

Over by the museum, Monty gave me a free pep squad shirt. I didn’t necessarily want it, but I can always sell it.

Monty: Feel free to do whatever you want with it, it's poop.

Down at the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed “K.K. Rally” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Rally.

Marina has been sick with a cold this week, so I gave her some medicine Wednesday and today. Get well soon, Marina!

While I didn’t specifically go on a bug hunt tonight, I did manage (somehow) to catch two tarantulas and an arapaima within 60 seconds!

And right before I wrapped up my game, Big Top asked me for a new catchphrase. I told him to say “528 bells,” which may eventually pay off.

Big Top: Thanks for the rockin' catchphrase, 528 bells!

For those who don’t know, 528 bells is a common reward for completing a favor for a villager. So stay tuned!

Sustainable Forest Fires

On Wednesday, I received Robin’s moving-out letter in the mail. She doesn’t call it a goodbye, because she’s sure we’ll meet again somewhere. And that’s probably more true than she knows, since she also lives in my Wild World town.

To: Jeff, I've decided to move away from Forest. It's hard to say bye to good friends like you. So I won't. Because I'm SURE we'll meet again somewhere! -From: Robin

While nosing through Antonio’s things, I got this curious message that said “Let’s just pretend we didn’t see that…” Except that I could literally see that nothing was inside. 😛

...Let's just pretend we didn't see that, shall we?
What’s in the box?
Nothing! Absolutely nothing!

Rosie approached me and gave me a free regal wall. She was on her way to throw it out, but she said it’s better to recycle anyway.

Rosie: I'm, like, totally concerned about greenhouse flashes and sustainable forest fires or whatever!
This sounds like Lindsay Bluth.

Later on, I held my first bug-catching session of the summer. I started shortly before 11 p.m., because I know more of the valuable bugs come out at 11:00. However, I was a bit disappointed when it suddenly started to rain right when the clock struck eleven! I wasn’t sure which of the bugs the rain would prevent from appearing.

However, I shouldn’t have worried. I was seeing a lot of scarab beetles, and a good mix of the other regular summer bugs too. But the rain also had a positive side-effect: It allowed me to catch two coelacanths!

A coelacanth?

In slightly over an hour of bug-catching (and a little fishing too), I made about 250,000 bells.

Today, Nana sent me a letter telling me that she was over her cold. She sent me an office locker to say thanks for the medicine I’ve been giving her lately.

I went over to the Roost to check out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show, and he performed “Comrade K.K.” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Comrade K.K..

Monty asked me for a new catchphrase, and I wanted him to say “it’s poop.” However, the game wouldn’t let me say that. So I added an extra “o” and then it worked out just fine. 😛

Monty: Wander around on a day like this one, and see what you discover, it's pooop.

While I haven’t yet recorded a bug hunting gameplay session video yet for 2025, I will be doing that soon…perhaps by next week.

Robin Relocates

Today, I received my bug trophy in the mail, from winning the Bug-Off last weekend. I sold it for 2,450 bells, which is more than I expected it to be worth.

When I visited Robin, I saw that she is moving out of town…and spreading her wings. 😆 Maybe she saw the Bat Signal in the sky, and she has to fly.

Robin: I just HAVE to spread my wings, so to speak. But I'm glad I saw you before I left, la-di-da! Take care!

I’m okay with her leaving; I do still have her in Wild World, after all.

Back outside, Felicity called me crazy for being up so late…even though it was only 8 p.m.! But then she realized that she was still up too, so she must be the crazy one. Either that, or everyone else.

Felicity: But I'm up, too... So that means that I'M the crazy one... Or maybe it's just everyone else!

Biskit was talking about K.K. Slider being at the Roost tonight. But he also was talking about going over there tomorrow to hear a song at lunchtime? K.K. won’t still be there tomorrow, dawg!

Biskit: I'm thinking of going over there tomorrow and requesting a good song with my lunch!

But speaking of the Roost, I did head over there myself. Monty was in there too, enjoying some coffee.

Monty, at the Roost: The coffee here is rich and mysterious, much like myself.

I asked K.K. for a random song, and he performed “K.K. House” for me and Monty.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. House.

It’s not a bad song; the chorus is the key, and now it lives rent-free in my head. 🏠😉

It was raining in town tonight, and Rosie was sick of the dampness. She even said if hating rain is bad, she wants to be REALLY bad. 😆

Rosie: Boooo! If hating the rain is bad, then I wanna be REALLY bad!

Nana was sick with a cold today, so I gave her some medicine. Get well soon, monkey brain.

July starts next week (Tuesday, in fact), and that means prime bug-hunting season is almost here! I’m wrapping up June with 67,650,000 bells in savings. My summer goal will be to earn 2.35 million more bells, so that I reach 70 million bells by September 1st. That shouldn’t be a problem with the way I enjoy my summer bug-hunting nights. 🙂 I’ll also post a video of one of those sessions at some point in July, too.

Good luck with your bug hunting everyone, and I’ll see you in July! 🦋
