Tabby’s Birthday

On Thursday, Kitty asked me for a new greeting. I told her to say “AC Switch please.”

Kitty: AC Switch please... Is that what you want, kitty cat?
YES!

On Saturday, it was Kabuki’s turn to ask me for a greeting. I told him to say “Quantum Fighter.” None of you may get the reference, but there was a NES game called Kabuki Quantum Fighter, where the guy fights enemies by attacking them with his long hair. 😛 I’ve never actually played the game, but the odd concept and funny name made it stick in my memory.

Kabuki: Quantum Fighter!

I went to town hall to complain about Tabby. It was for my latest video, which I’ll post at the end of this blog entry.

Pelly: What seems to be the problem with Tabby?
Where should I start?

Drake told me he was going to move out of town, but I didn’t want him to go. I asked him to stay, and he said it was out of his control. But the next day, I was able to change his mind. It’s far too soon for him to leave!

Drake: Since it means so much to you, I'll see if I can get out of this whole moving thing, in my nest!

Sunday night, I played again and watched some of the fireworks show.

Fireworks explode in the air over Forest.

And today (August 13th) is Tabby’s birthday.

~Happy Birthday~ Today is Tabby's birthday! Go congratulate her on another trip around the sun!

Wow, she really has a lot of weeds around her house! 😉

A bunch of dandelions outside of Tabby's house.

I put my gas mask on, laid out Tabby’s hat, and got ready to throw a birthday party for Tabby.

Tabby's birthday party?

Oops, I guess I forgot to invite her. Too bad. 😉 But at least I made a video for her. However, she might not like it very much. So if you’re a Tabby fan, you might not either. But here it is:

Have a great day, and I’ll see you next time! 🙂

Update: Oh, one thing I forgot to mention. I realized that I didn’t have the 3-way intersection paths anywhere in my path storage (and I checked all three characters). So I’m going to have to re-create those again. Ouch.

Al Be Here

On Sunday night, I played during the fireworks festival. They take place on each Sunday in August, and that was the first of four. Also, I was wearing the full knight outfit after receiving the armor suit in the mail from Nook ‘n’ Go.

Tortimer: This is the first fireworks show of the summer, an event to commemorate! With explosions!

As I stood there, I got bit by a mosquito. Or…was it Tortimer that bit me?? You be the judge!

Itchy itchy itchy! I got bit by a mosquito!

As you can probably tell from those pictures, I’m switching from the green brick path back to the nicer paths from Wendell. The only problem is that they take up 11 pattern spaces (at least with my custom three-way intersection pieces). I’m still in the process of switching over, and I’m probably about 70% done.

I collected some Roman candles from Tortimer, and then I made sure to fulfill my annual tradition of giving Tortimer a turtle wax. I burn his shell real good. This was something that started in the Wi-Fi days, with Kimmy/Megan blowing bubbles to soap him up and then I brought the heat to seal it. 😛 You may remember seeing the process in some of my old Wi-Fi Moments videos.

Jeff heats Tortimer's shell with a Roman candle.

Elsewhere in town, I found a new house. Al the gorilla was inside, as he just moved in. While I don’t hate him or anything, I’m not a big fan of the big ape.

Al: Whew... Unpacking sure is hard work! I think I'm actually breaking a sweat for the first time in years...
But you haven’t unpacked anything yet…

I played again tonight, and I found Tabby in the trash. Or at least eating out of the trash.

Tabby appears to be in the garbage can.

I realized that neither Guest nor Scott had the Wendell paths in their pattern storage. Ugh. So I had to use Jeff to display them in Able Sisters, and Scott picked them up. I’m letting Jeff use the three most common pieces (vertical, horizontal, and intersection), so that he still has some free spaces to work with. Scott will hold the corners and three-way intersection pieces. I’ll probably finish placing the paths by next week.

By the way, I may be posting a new ACCF video on Monday. 😉

Luxurious Octopus

On Monday, I found Clyde all packed up and ready to move out of town. So I said my last goodbye before he gallops off into the sunset.

Clyde: Well, Bro J, I guess the time has finally come.
Sure you’re not just horsing around?

Over by town hall, Opal told me about her new side business, selling luxury items. So she expected me to buy a luxurious octopus for 2,460 bells. I wanted to tell her NO WAY eight times.

Opal: I've started a side business selling luxury items. Like this octopus, for example!

As I’ve been doing lately, I went fishing and bug-hunting. I caught about 100,000 bells worth before ending my game for the night.

Today, I received Clyde’s goodbye letter in the mail.

Dear Jeff, It's almost time for me to leave Forest. 'Cause of you, every day I lived here was tons of fun. Thanks for everything! -From Clyde

Able Sisters had a knight’s helmet for sale, so I made a rare impulse purchase. It’s fun wearing some of the goofy hats in the game sometimes. I also ordered the armor suit to go with it.

Mabel: That's a knight's helmet. The price on that item is 1,000 bells.
I’m going to have a good knight.

Forest’s resident frog asked for a new greeting, so I told him to say “Catch my Drift?”

Drift: Catch my Drift?!

I did some more fishing and bug-catching, but I only earned about 30,000 bells tonight. That’s because I stopped when I reached my goal of hitting 33 million bells in my bank account.

Your current balance is 33,000,000 bells.

I first hit 32 million bells on June 22nd, so it took me just over a month to earn a million bells. That’s probably the quickest million I’ve made in a long time.

I recently put up my latest ACCF video, City Folk Moments #4. Please give it a watch if you haven’t seen it yet (or feel free to watch it again if you have seen it :P).

I actually have another City Folk video planned for later in August, too. (But it’s not a “Moments” video). See you next time!
