The April fishing tournament was held today, and I caught a dace for Chip. He scrutinized it closely before wolfing it down.

The dace was 11.3 inches long, but that was much smaller than the current record: Static’s 41 inch sea bass. So I returned to the ocean from whence I came in search of a sea bass for myself. A few minutes later, I caught one. When I took it over to Chip, he told me it was 44 inches long!

That put me in first place, and Chip gave me a robo-table as a prize.

I visited Opal, and she told me that Static and Tabby have been fighting lately. But Opal wasn’t concerned about helping them out…she just enjoys seeing them throw shaved ice at each other! 😛 Actually, it would be pretty cool to see someone throw ice at Tabby.

I ran into Static on the ramp, and he said he wasn’t going to let anyone else win the fishing tournament. He planned to keep fishing for as long as it takes.

I was looking through the fish and bug descriptions in the game, and I learned something new: I learned that fireflies are not turn signals. Who knew?

At Able Sisters, I changed the path pattern back to the usual green bricks. Also, I suddenly got the urge to play the numbers 7-6-0 in the Animal Crossing lottery. 😛

After 6:00, I returned to Chip to check the results of the fishing tournament. He confirmed that my 44-inch sea bass was the final winner, and he said he’ll send my prize in the mail.

It’s a pretty time of year in Animal Crossing, because cherry blossom petals are now gently falling from the sky. On a less pleasant note, Tabby was talking about what makes her puke.

Perhaps Static overhead what Tabby said, because something made him sick. I gave him some medicine, so hopefully he’ll start feeling better soon.

As I was watering flowers, I fell into a pitfall right outside of Clyde’s house. The pitfall was hidden behind a tree, so I didn’t see it. Actually, this is where Merry used to live, and I often pitfall’d my Wi-Fi visitors here. 😛

Not far from there, I found a new house! Drift the frog was inside; he just moved in. He said it was good to meet me, but his face seemed to say otherwise.

Midge was talking about visitors from other towns, and then she started singing Cotton Eye Joe! 😛

Tabby asked to visit my house (no way!) to get decorating ideas. She said she needed some suggestions because “her honey” is going to visit her at some point. Who is her honey?! A blind beaver or something?

Tabby asked me for a new catchphrase, and I told her to say “crabby.” As in Crabby Tabby. She used her new catchphrase when she had a chat with Midge. Midge said that she wanted a big, bright house with lots of skylights. So Tabby called her a “trip and a half.”

After completing a trip around town, I realized that I hadn’t found any fossils today. So I made several more circles around town, this time making a more thorough search. And even though I found some weeds and gyroids I missed the first time around, I only found one fossil! The others must be hidden really well. I just don’t know where they could be, because I thought I looked everywhere. Oh well.

I received Champ’s goodbye letter in the mail today. He even had the snes sense to write it on SMB3 paper.

Kitty asked me to make a delivery to Samson, and I agreed to help. But really, why would a cat want to send a gift to a mouse? Still, I gave Samson the package, and it contained a dice shirt. Samson hated it.

I returned to Kitty and told her the news. She was a bit angry that Samson didn’t like the gift. But she gave me a gold screen wall for my trouble.

I rode the bus out to the city and got my hair done; it’s back to being brown now. And at Able Sisters, I bought a green tie-dye shirt. My Mohawk McClover outfit has gone back into storage until next year.

When I bumped into Tangy, she asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek. So I had ten minutes to find her, Opal, and Midge. It took me over four minutes to find someone: I first found Opal hiding behind the empty house by the river.

Nearly two minutes later, I found Midge hiding behind Kitty’s house. And with about three minutes to go on the timer, I found Tangy hiding behind a sign post. This is where Champ lived.

For winning the game, I received a mega howloid from Tangy.
