Kabuki Moves In

I visited Tabby today, and she was being quite rude. She asked why I was so pale. Excuse me for not being orange like you! And she was also making ugly faces at me…not that that part was anything new.

Tabby: Bro J, how can you spend so much time outside and still be so pale?

Outside, Drift informed me that Wendell was in town. He said Wendell was so hungry that he could eat a corn bread planet. I’ve never even heard of a corn bread planet! It does sound tasty, though.

Drift: I kept feeding him... But his gut is like a black hole! That dude could eat a corn bread planet.

I found a new house in the spot where Bob once lived. I imagined how cool it would be if Bob himself had moved back into the same spot. But instead, I found Kabuki the cat inside. He’s no Bob, but he’s pretty cool too.

Kabuki: My name's Kabuki... not that you asked. Nice to meet you, pal.

Over by Nookington’s, Opal was gushing about Tom Nook. It almost made me sick! She said without him, we’d all be nothing more than animals.

Opal: I mean, without all the marvelous goods he sells, we'd be nothing more than animals!
We? Speak for yourself!

I rode the bus out to the city, and I saw Goldie there. She said she was going to borrow some ideas from the current model room at the Happy Room Academy.

Goldie: I just got done looking at the model room, and I think I'm going to pinch a few design ideas from it.

I was curious to see what the model room was, so I went inside the HRA to check it out. Um…

A smell, empty model room at the Happy Room Academy in Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Absolutely nothing! Lyle said that no rooms matched this month’s theme, so there was nothing to display. Remind me not to visit Goldie; she probably has no furniture at all! But then again, she is a dog. Maybe she lives in a doghouse.

Back in town, I finally spotted Wendell. He begged me for food, saying he would eat anything.

Wendell: I'll eat anything! Just give me SOMETHING!

I didn’t have any food on me, but he did say he’ll eat anything. So I tried giving him some yellow pansies.

Wendell: Wh-wh-what is this? I-I-I... I can't eat this!
But you just said…

I felt bad for the big oaf, so I shook a nearby peach tree and gave him a peach. In return, he gave me a “coloring Rover” pattern.

Saturday Seeking

I received Tangy’s goodbye letter in the mail today. I’ll miss my orange friend. It’s too bad I can’t give her one last squeeze. 😛

Like, to Jeff, I totally had to think about it for, like, forever... but I decided to move after all. Sniff! Don't forget me when I'm gone, OK?! -From your BFF, Tangy

Of course, there is another orange cat in town…but it’s one I don’t care for. I spotted that cat, Tabby, as I was making my rounds. She was standing right under the cliff, so I made sure to sprinkle her with…uh, let’s say it was water.

Midge then asked me to play a game of hide-and-seek, and I agreed. I had 15 minutes to find her, Tabby, and Benedict. I followed my nose right to Tabby, who was hiding behind town hall.

Two minutes later, I spotted Benedict peeking out from behind Guest’s house.

And with about nine minutes on the timer, I found Midge hiding behind Kitty’s house. Midge gave me a water bird as my prize for winning the game.

Midge: Have you ever given any thought to becoming a telephone psychic, Bro J?
I knew you would say that.

I returned to Kitty’s house to give her some medicine. She’s a sick kitty; she even looks like she’s lying down in mid-air!

Out of Juice

I got some bad news in City Folk today. When I went to visit Tangy, I saw that all her furniture was packed up in juice boxes. She’s moving out of town, without warning. 🙁

Tangy: I don't mind packing my bags.
I mind.

I just lost Champ last month, and now Tangy is leaving too. Two of my favorites. Why couldn’t it be Tabby instead? Or Kitty?

Speaking of Kitty, she said she heard people saying I don’t speak politely. But I think it was probably her that was spreading the rumor. Or it could be Tabby. I’m never polite to Tabby. 😛

Kitty: Oh, hey! I've been hearing people talk about you! They're saying that you don't speak politely!

I saw a balloon present floating by, so I got my slingshot out and popped the green balloon. The packaged contained a white boom box.

When I visited Benedict, I saw that his fish was laying flat on the bottom of its aquarium!

I think it’s dead.

It did flap around occasionally, but still…it didn’t look it’s doing very well.

While walking near the waterfall (and looking up), I saw Drift up on top of the cliff. I tried waving to him, and to my surprise, it actually worked! I didn’t think it would work when we’re on different levels, but it did. The only bad thing was that I didn’t see him wave back, because once I clicked the button, the view changed back to normal (instead of looking up). 😛

I walked over to the cliff to get a look at him, and I shot my slingshot in front of his face. I wasn’t trying to hurt him or anything, I was just messing around. When I took a picture, two of the pellets appeared in front of his face. It looked like he got some piercings on his upper lip…or maybe you think they look more like an extra pair of eyes? 😛

Opal asked me for some “bedlike furniture” (aka a bed). I checked Nook’s shop, and luckily for Opal, he had a bed for sale today. It was a modern bed, and it cost me 1,856 bells. I took it back to Opal, and she rewarded me with 528 bells. One-third of what I paid for it. Thanks a lot, Opal.

I rode the bus out to the city, and I saw my old buddy Bob there! He was sad that Phineas wasn’t around, because he was looking forward to getting a prize. Aw, poor guy.

Bob: And I was all excited about getting a balloon from him, too. Or a pinwheel. Or even some bubbles!

I recently posted a new ACCF video, City Folk Moments #3. It features the Tabby scene I mentioned last time, and a number of other things that you may remember from the blog (and a few others as well). If you haven’t seen it yet (or want to watch it again), here it is. I hope you enjoy it.
