Today, Opal was walking around outside, holding a net. But she confessed that she has another reason for catching bugs: She can linger near her neighbors to listen for good gossip! She said her goal for the day was to catch two bugs and to hear five compliments.

When I went into Champ’s house, I was quite disappointed to see that he had all his furniture packed up in boxes. He’s moving out of town. This is what happens when you don’t play regularly–one of your favorite villagers may move away without you having a chance to stop them. It’s a shame he didn’t stick around longer. I’ll miss the guy.

Kitty asked me to make a delivery to Tabby, and I agreed to help out for some reason. The gift was a polar fleece, and Tabby just thought it was adequate. When I returned to Kitty and told her the news, she rewarded me with a cactus.

Tangy asked me for a yellow perch, so I went fishing for a while. On my way to Nookington’s to sell a bunch of other fish, Tabby noticed a carp in my pockets.

She wanted to buy it from me for 478 bells, and I agreed to the deal.

I continued fishing, but I never found a yellow perch for Tangy. However, I did fish a key out of the river!

The key belonged to Samson, who had locked himself out of his house. When I returned it to him, he rewarded me with a blue bookcase. Funny that he can carry around a blue bookcase in his pockets, but forgets to bring along his house key.

I got a letter in the mail from Mom today, and she sent me a cherry. So this is just a reminder that even though online play isn’t officially supported by Nintendo any more, you can still get the foreign fruits. And since today is Pi Day (3/14), maybe I can make some cherry pi. π 😉

I also got my election poster in the mail from Tom Nook. I put it in my house, although I still don’t know what I’m going to do with it. 😛

When I ran into Midge, she dropped a truth bomb on me. She’s a bird! 😛

Well okay, maybe that was a smidge obvious. But I really liked all the green and gold in that picture, with the four-leaf clover pattern path going up the ramp right behind her.

Tabby told me she likes to go to town hall at night to avoid the crowds. (What crowds?) That, and she also thinks Phyllis is awesome. Somehow I’m not surprised that Tabby thinks Phyllis is awesome.

Kapp’n gave me a bus ride out to the city, and I got my hair done at Shampoodle. I have now completed my transformation into Mohawk McClover, for the 10th year in a row! I started it back on St. Patrick’s Day in 2009, and you can see it way back in Wi-Fi Moments #8.

Back in town, Static asked me for a new greeting. I was going to have him say “Aww, nuts!” but the game wouldn’t allow the word nuts. I was thinking about using a special character so that I could say nüts or something, but then I just decided to have him say °. That’s the degree sign, although it looks like a tiny little “o.”

Pronouncing it correctly does have a degree of difficulty, and I’m not sure that a squirrel can do it. O well.

Samson pinged me today, and he complimented me on my “sweet hiding spot.” He then asked me to play hide-and-seek. I agreed, and he gave me ten minutes to find him, Static, and Tabby.

Within a minute and a half, I found Samson and Static, both hiding behind trees. I took my time finding Tabby. Believe me, I was in no rush to see that face of hers. I circled around town before I spotted her…hiding behind my house!

I won the game, and Samson rewarded me with a tall droploid.

With St. Patrick’s Day coming up, I changed into my club shirt. I was going to dye my hair green too, so I could transform into Mohawk McClover again, but I accidentally picked the wrong hair color. But at least I changed the path patterns around town. Instead of just green bricks, I switched to the St. Patty clover design that T. Zelda (TZ) made.

I spotted a balloon present, and shot it down. It contained a “? block.”

When I ran into Tabby again (in the rain this time), she told me she was really bored. She was even sick of her house. Of course, I bet her house is even more sick of her! 😛

At Nook ‘n’ Go, I decided to order an old DLC item. At only 3 bells, I believe it is the cheapest furniture item you can buy: It’s the election poster!

This item was not included in New Leaf, because Tortimer isn’t the mayor in that game. I don’t even have any specific plans for the poster, but it is a novelty item that probably not many people have lying around.
