Air Pollution

I received Benedict’s goodbye letter in the mail today. I’ll miss the guy.

Dear Jeff, It's almost time for me to leave Forest. 'Cause of you, every day I lived here was tons of fun. Thanks for everything! -From Benedict

I then changed into my Mario outfit again. Why? Hmm, maybe Mario just needed to use the phone and couldn’t find one in his own game. 😉

Mario uses the phone in the attic.

Near the museum, I shot down a balloon present. It contained a gas pump! How did that get up there?

A gas pump in my pockets.

The mayor (Tortimer, not me) must need to enforce some stricter laws about air pollution.

Even though I knew Benedict was gone, it still surprised me when I saw the empty spot where his house had been. He lived here for nearly two and a half years, after all. It was New Year’s Day 2016 that he moved in.

Well, at least I can fix my path back, I suppose. 😛

Over at town hall, I decided to make a new town tune. Since I recently replayed Luigi’s Mansion (on GameCube), I decided to use its theme. Luigi would hum the tune throughout the game, and it quickly got stuck in my head. 😛

Opal asked me to make a delivery to Drift, and the gift turned out to be a bad plaid shirt. Surprisingly, Drift really seemed to like the shirt. I then returned to Opal, and she rewarded me with a common floor.

Have a good weekend, everyone! See you next time!

No More Chicken

Saturday is K.K. Slider night, and Tabby told me she was DYING to see him play!

Tabby: I'm just, like, DYING to see him play!
How can I help you meet that goal?

I then took a walk up to the museum and asked the singing dog to choose a song for me. He performed K.K. Tango. Fortunately, Tabby didn’t show up and expect to tango with me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Tango.

Static was feeling sick, so I bought some medicine for him. It didn’t seem to help him very much, though. Hopefully he’ll start feeling better soon.

Static: Big, bad Static floored by the common cold. How pathetic, tweedledee.

I was quite disappointed when I went into Benedict’s house. He’s moving away! Ugh! I’ve already lost Champ and Tangy in the past two months, and now Benedict too?!

Benedict: Well, see, I'm actually leaving Forest. For good, tweedledee.

Of course, I still like Static a lot. Kabuki, Opal, and Drift are fairly cool too. But still, Forest is going through one of those spells where my villagers are mostly mediocre. Ehh, things will improve at some point, I’m sure. Forest will just seem a little bland in the meantime.

Drift was out bug-hunting tonight. He was complaining that a spider wouldn’t jump right into his net. Is this his first time bug-hunting, or what?

Drift: But this stupid, stubborn spider won't jump into my net, tweedledee!
Your net? Or your mouth?

Have a good weekend, everyone! I’ll see you next time.

You’re Losing!

The fishing tournament was held today, and Tabby wasted no time in telling me I was losing. -_-

Tabby: You're losing, Bro J! I heard Samson is in the lead!
So you’re losing too, then.

I stopped in Nook ‘n’ Go, and it looked like it was tall furniture day. The items up for sale were a beach table, a cabana lamp, and a white king. Everything was much taller than me and Tom Nook.

Then back outside, I planted a pitfall seed and hid behind a tree. I waited for someone to fall in it, and I was happy to see I caught the right cat! 😉

Tabby struggles to get out of a pitfall.

I wasn’t planning on taking part in the fishing tournament, which was just for sea bass. But when I just happened to see a large fish shadow in the ocean, I decided to give it one shot. I caught a sea bass, and I took it to Chip. My fish was too small to take the lead, but at least Chip will eat well today.

Chip: Samson caught a respectable 43.1-inch sea bass. Yup. Ate it with my own mouth.

Benedict seemed a bit confused, and it seems that he’s a bit gullible as well. He was standing near Kabuki’s house, looking puzzled. He said that Opal told him that was the spot for catching fish. Uh, nope. You might want to try the ocean, pal.

Benedict, standing nowhere near water: Opal told me that this is the place for catching fish!
She lied to you, bro.

I didn’t stay for the end of the tournament, but most likely, Samson’s top fish will hold on and win. I know Benedict sure isn’t going to beat him. 😛
