This Isn’t Blue

Vladimir came down with a cold today. As tempting as it may be to let the cranky bears start dying off, it unfortunately doesn’t work that way. 😉 So I gave him some medicine…but it didn’t seem to help just yet.

Vladimir: What? It's not...like the medicine's going to...work right...this minute or anything, sparkles...

Down at the Roost, I asked K.K. Slider for a random song. He performed K.K. Sonata for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Sonata.

I later visited Queenie, and I was snooping through her bureau. I think she saw me. 😉

It's surprisingly clean and tidy in here.

Curt asked me for some blue furniture, but Nook ‘n’ Go didn’t have anything that was clearly blue. But they did have a wave breaker, which looked like a slightly bluish shade of gray. It was only 1,408 bells, so I bought it. However, Curt bluntly told me it was not blue. Well it was the best I could do!

Curt: Hey, kiddo, you know this isn't blue, right?
Lay off me, I’m colorblind!

8th Cranky!

Goldie’s replacement moved in yesterday, and I couldn’t believe it. It was Hopper the penguin…who is another cranky villager! MY TOWN NOW HAS EIGHT CRANKIES! This is insane! AGGGHHHH!

Hopper: Hey, what's the big idea?! When you visit my house, let me know you're here! Knock! Yell! Something!

The others crankies are Apollo, Grizzly, Gaston, Curt, Vladimir, Harry, and Tom. Here’s my full villager list.

My current villagers: Boomer, Queenie, Apollo, Grizzly, Gaston, Hopper, Curt, Vladimir, Harry, Tom.

Today was harvest festival day, and I found Tortimer in front of town hall. He gave me a knife and fork to use on the special guest of honor, Franklin. 😉

Tortimer: You know, if you want do the Harvest Festival right, you need a knife and fork, sprout!

When I visited Curt, I accidentally told him I had a knife and fork for him. However, I wasn’t about to waste my silverware on him. 😛 So I cancelled that, and he was disappointed. However, I was quite happy to disappoint him. 😆

Curt: Oh, thanks so much for getting my hopes up, then smashing them to pieces! Like all my dreams...

Perhaps I should have given them to him though, because I could have used the hint on where to find Franklin. It took me a whole trip and a half around all of Forest before I finally tracked the turkey down. (I missed him my first time by this spot.)

Franklin: You go your way, I go mine, and we just pretend we never saw one another.

I gave him the knife and fork, and he gave me a harvest mirror in return.

Tortimer gave me another set of silverware, and I resumed my search. This time around, Franklin didn’t have the best hiding spot.

Franklin tries to hide behind a sign post.

He rewarded me with a harvest clock. When I found him a third time, he gave me a harvest lamp. I sold the three items for a total of 9,999 bells. I hope you all had a great harvest festival, Turkey Day, and/or Thanksgiving! 🦃

I have now built my bank account balance back up to the 53 million bell mark. As you may remember, I dipped below it when I bought that throne a few weeks back.

I posted a new Youtube Short today, taking a (very) quick look at 11 things you could do in City Folk, but not in New Horizons. Hope you enjoy it!

Over the Waterfall

On Wednesday, I received Goldie’s goodbye letter in the mail. 🙁 I hate to even type that sentence. Oof. I’ll miss her.

Dearest Jeff, I'm leaving Forest today... I know it's the right step, but I'm still sad, because I'll be leaving you. I hope I see you again someday. Signed, Goldie

And then I saw the empty spot where she lived, right next door to me. If there is one good thing about that spot, it’s that villagers who’ve lived there have mostly lasted a long time. And Goldie was no exception, with a lengthy 3.5 year stay in Forest.

The empty spot where Goldie lived.

I was looking to change out of my Halloween costume, so I bought a BB shirt at Able Sisters. The cavalier outfit went back into storage.

I gave Curt another dose of medicine Wednesday, and he was all better by today. He thanked me for the help by giving me a shower. 🚿

Curt: I'm not the type to go throwing presents around, but I want you to have this shower.

I found Pascal standing on a bridge today, so I gave him a scallop I had attached to a letter. He told me that eating lobster is like eating a big bug. 😆

Pascal: Don't kid yourself, maaan. If you eat lobster, you're just eating a big bug.

He gave me a ship deck (flooring) before diving into the river. Since he started on the upper level of town, I had a chance to watch him go over the waterfall. 🙂

Pascal goes over the waterfall.

Goldie’s replacement has not moved in yet, but I’m sure I’ll meet him/her next week. Please don’t be another cranky! I will scream if that happens. 😛

Update: I posted an annual slideshow of my best ACCF screenshots today. Here is The 14th Year in Pictures:
