Just a quick update today to let you know a new villager moved into Forest. It’s Melba, the koala.
I’m guessing she’s named after Melbourne, which is the second-largest city in Australia.

I briefly checked on my Bananas town tonight. I got my monthly bank statement, and I earned 3,725 bells in interest. That’s not very much (only half of one fruit run), but it’s better than nothing I suppose.
I then started up my main town, Forest. There, I got exactly 90,000 bells in interest.
At 10:00, I opened my gate for Friday Night Forest. Yann came over to visit. We put on Wendell’s chocolate pattern. It was raining, and we were hoping to catch a coelacanth. So we wore cocoa to catch coco.
I spotted Jeremiah and Peggy both using leopard umbrellas. So I joked that they must have killed a leopard and shared it. I bet they had matching leopard underwear, too.
Last week, Yann said she had a secret that she would reveal this week. So I reminded her, and she posted it on the bulletin board (after a lengthy delay). She said she was dating Bill the duck. 😮 But she’s still married to Del! Bad Yann!
At 11:00, I revived Forest Arena for a few games of sumo. Water sumo. 😀 I won the first round, pushing Yann into a pitfall.
We played another round, and this time Yann knocked me in.
So we had to have a tiebreaker, so we battled one last time. It was a good battle, and eventually, we both fell into pitfalls!
But I fell first, so Yann was the winner. Congratulations, Yann!
We then did some more fishing, but unfortunately, we didn’t find any coelacanths. We did have a good time, though. I closed my gate just after midnight.
Pascal was in town today, standing on one of my bridges.
I searched the beach and found a scallop to give him. He gave me a ship compass in return before plunging into the cold river. I tested the ship compass out, and indeed, the needle keeps pointing north even when you rotate the compass itself.
I then decided to try out this pattern, made by Green Knight on ACC. MrTobytiger23 suggested I use it after I wasn’t pleased with the last water pattern I tried. As usual, the patterns on ACC are based on the Wild World palettes, so I had to change it up. I also picked a shade that looked more blue and less turquoise; I also removed the fish shadow from the pattern.
This one flows together better, especially horizontally. You can still tell it’s tiled vertically, but this is definitely better than the last one. I quickly copied it onto my path pattern slot to see what it looked like.
That’s not going to be my path long-term, but I don’t mind using it for a week or two.
After I was done, I started up my Bananas town. I got a goodbye letter from Puck. Why do all my penguins keep leaving me? What the Puck am I doing wrong?
I gathered up some fruit and fossils to earn some money, then I put all my money into the bank. Since today is the last day of the month, I’ll earn some interest on it tomorrow. I nearly have 75% of the money I need for my lighthouse.
