Bugs for Roscoe

Curly was sick with the swine flu a cold tonight, so I gave him some medicine. Get well soon, Curly.

Curly flips as he takes his medicine.

I went to the Roost to catch K.K.’s Saturday night performance this evening. I asked for a random song, and he played Steep Hill for me. It’s a really good song, but I did hear it in New Horizons just a few weeks ago.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Steep Hill.

Roscoe asked me to catch a centipede for him, and I tried. But after hitting rocks many times without success, I decided to at least hunt for some other bugs while I went from rock to rock. So in the process, I ended up catching a few good ones. That included a golden stag, a Hercules beetle, and this scorpion.

I caught a scorpion! It looks kind of crabby to me...

While catching a miyama stag in another part of town, I spotted a balloon just over the horizon.

Yippee! I caught a Miyama stag beetle! I beat the beetle!

So of course, I went over and shot it down. Pop!

Pop goes the balloon.

I found a ranch bed in the box. The very next rock I banged contained the centipede I had been looking for! I took it over to Roscoe, but he pinged me before I could hand it over. He noticed that miyama stag in my pockets, and he wanted to trade his “U R here” shirt for it. I agreed.

Then I spoke to him again to give him the centipede. To thank me, guess what he gave me in return? The miyama stag he just took from me a few seconds earlier! Wow. I guess the horse changed course. Make up your mind, Roscoe. 😆

Roscoe: At last! You brought it! The centipede is finally mine! Thanks, giddyup!

In total, I made about 120,000 bells tonight.

I’ll see you all next time! Enjoy your weekend! 🙂

Grizzly Confessions

On Tuesday night, I had my first bug-hunting session of the year. I recorded a video of my hour-long hunt, and you can see it here:

Yesterday, Nana was talking about how she wanted to be able to identify fossils on her own. (I’ve talked about that before too.) But Nana said that Blathers was unwilling to help, because it was a trade secret.

Nana: He said it was a trade secret, and he wouldn't tell me, giddyup.

Last night, I had a short (20-minute) bug-hunting session. I earned 56,945 bells in the process.

Today, Curly was talking about pants with elastic waistbands. He said he’ll never let fashion get in the way of his eating. 🐷

Curly: If I gotta wear skintight pants that hold back my buffet eatin', I don't wanna be popular, giddyup!

Grizzly asked me to buy his vertigo shirt for 356 bells, and I agreed. I don’t mind when the amount is in the hundreds. Anything over 1,000 bells is a different story. 😛

Seconds later, Mint came over to talk to Grizzly. They had a funny conversation that started with Mint apologizing for calling Grizzly a puddinghead. But then they both started admitting things they did to each other. 😆

Grizzly: ...See, I started a rumor that Pete had dumped you.
Mint: Well... OK, fine. As long as we're sharing, I was the one who threw fleas on you a while back.

They both got angry, and it ended with Mint calling Grizzly a puddinghead… again. The conversation came full circle.

When I visited Roscoe, he was looking for some new clothes. So I tried giving him the vertigo shirt from Grizzly…and it worked!

Roscoe: Wearing my brand new vertigo shirt, no girl will be able to resist me, giddyup!
I never said it was brand new, but I didn’t tell him it was used either. 😆

Roscoe gave me a melon chair for helping out.

Ruby asked me for a killifish, so I checked out my town’s ponds until I found one. She gave me a tulip chair in return, and she also gave me a very sweet compliment. 🍨

Ruby: If niceness was a flavor, you'd be ICE CREAM with sprinkles and fudge and a cherry!

Enjoy your summer bug hunting, and I’ll be back with more next week! 🙂

Clyde’s Visit

I found a four-leaf clover in town today, though I don’t think it gave me any good luck. 🍀

Check it out! I found a four-leaf clover! Does this mean I'll be really lucky now?

Clyde asked if he could visit my house, and I agreed. Unfortunately, I had to choose a meeting time. When I tried a time that was too soon, he said he couldn’t make it that soon because he’s not the running type.

Clyde: What?! I don't think I can do it that soon... 'Cause that might involve running. And I'm really not the running type.
You’re a HORSE!

So I chose a later time. In the meantime, I went to Able Sisters to buy a new shirt. I thought my flame shirt seemed a bit hot with summer here now, so I bought a nice, cool bubble shirt instead.

My next stop was Big Top’s house, and he just so happened to ask for new clothes. I gave him the flame shirt, and he loved it! He gave me 520 bells, which is 110 bells more than what I paid for my bubble shirt! That worked out well!

Big Top: I'm SO psyched! Here, please have 520 bells as my way of saying thanks!

When I visited Mint, she had a scowl on her face when she told me she was going to buy a deluxe beanbag. Um, okay?

Mint: I'm going to get myself a seriously deluxe beanbag!

She said she likes to buy nice things to pass the time while she waits for the next big event to come around.

I then headed home and waited for Clyde to come knocking. When he arrived, he initially seemed excited to see my house. But it didn’t take him long to start complaining about my lack of furniture. 😑

Clyde: Anyway, you just don't have what you need to live here comfortably.
What do you know? You were born in a barn!

I had a bed and other furniture upstairs, but he wouldn’t follow me up there. He just stood in my main room complaining. He said he would rate my room three stars out of five…and so would his mom.

Clyde: Since this place is missing the basics, my mom would probably give it (three stars) out of five stars.
Oh, get off your high horse and trot out of here.

I got sick of his complaints, so I just waited for him to leave. He may be new in town, but he’s already becoming one of my least favorites.

Later on, I went to the Roost to check out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night performance. I asked for a random song, and he played Rockin’ K.K. for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: Rockin' K.K..

Midge locked herself out of her house, so I did a little fishing and found her key for her.

Midge: Oh...! Awesome! Yes, this is my key, tweedledee!
Her last sentence rhymed. 😛

She rewarded me with a farting gyroid (a tootoid), which took the wind out of my sails. 💨

Before wrapping up my night, I gathered some fruit and earned enough bells to get my account balance up to 61.5 million bells. So my personal goal for the summer will be to earn 2.5 million bells (getting my balance to 64 million) by September 1st. I’ll get started on that summer bug-catching next week. I can’t wait! 🙂
