Foot Fingers

On Monday, Vladimir asked me to make a delivery to Grizzly for him. I agreed to help out, and Grizzly was happy with the skull shirt that Vladimir sent.

Grizzly: It's great to have friends that'll go out of their way to send you a little something, at circus!

Vladimir later rewarded me with an old brick wall. Just what I always wanted. 😛

Tom Nook was apparently hosting a block party at Nook ‘n’ Go. 😉 The three pieces of furniture for sale were all tall, rectangular items: an exotic wardrobe, a storage case, and a ranch bookcase.

Is this the right angle to take a screenshot from? 😉

At Crazy Redd’s shop in the city, I jokingly tried to buy an item I didn’t have the money for. Redd wasn’t happy that I tried to get it for cheaper than his asking price, and he said “What’n the Sam Hill?” 😛

Redd: What'n the Sam Hill?

And with St. Patrick’s Day coming up soon, I made my annual transformation into Mohawk McClover yesterday. But I took it a step further than usual by getting green shoes this time! Well, they’re green and white stripes, but that’s the best I can do. 😛

Tonight, Pascal was in town, standing on Forest’s middle bridge. He asked if fingers started growing on our feet, would we have to call them hands instead of feet? Pascal says some odd stuff sometimes, but this is one of his weirdest comments.

Pascal: If fingers start growing on your feet, do you have to call them hands, maaaan?

Boomer said he was considering moving out, and I asked him to stay. Not so much because I like him, but because I really want to get some more crankies out instead (just not Tom). I think I changed his mind, but his dialogue wasn’t 100% convincing.

Boomer: But I'll try asking if there's some way I can stay!

I tried talking to him several more times, and he didn’t mention moving. But I did (accidentally) catch a conversation between him and Lobo. They were talking about food, and I couldn’t even see Lobo behind the cliff. I couldn’t see much of Boomer, either. 😛

Lobo: Wow...ah-rooooo. Just hearing that gives me heartburn...

Have a great weekend, Animal Crossing fans! 🙂

Redecorating Upstairs

Ever since 2012, when Nintendo released the creepy furniture set as DLC (two items per month in the latter half of the year), I’ve had those items displayed in my upstairs room. Today, I finally redecorated that room. I installed the Pavé set, which I got out of storage so that I could take a screenshot for my upcoming Festivale guide.

My Pave furniture, displayed in my ACCF house.

That’s how the room currently looks, although the picture in my guide will be slightly different: It won’t include the clock, which was DLC, and not an item earned during Festivale.

Roscoe asked me to play a wilderness survival game, which was really hide-and-seek. He gave me ten minutes to find him and the penguins (Boomer and Hopper). It didn’t take me long to find Boomer, who was unsuccessfully trying to hide behind a sign post. 😛

A minute later, I found Roscoe behind a tree. And shortly after that, with eight minutes remaining on the timer, I spotted Hopper behind Lobo’s house.

It was a pretty easy win, and Roscoe gave me a broken post for winning. Why can’t I get a prize that isn’t already broken, though? 😉

Roscoe: Here, have a broken post. You deserve a little something for that performance.
Did it break when you tried to jump it to escape Lon Lon Ranch?

Saharah was in town (on hump day), and she was searching for some old wallpaper.

Saharah: Your old wallpaper, you will bring some to me, yes? And for them, I will give you exotic wallpaper I have made!

I asked around, and only two villagers helped me out: Tom and Queenie. But I couldn’t ask Grizzly if he had any wallpaper, because he was locked out of his house. Until I found his key, that is. (Fortunately, it only took me two attempts.)

I caught a key! ...Whose key is this?

I returned it to Grizzly, and he called me the master of searching. Just like he’s the master of “eating a whole oatmeal?” I don’t think that’s the right way to say that… 😛

Grizzly: You're like the master of searching! Like I'm the master of eating a whole oatmeal!
You’re a bear; you should call it porridge.

He rewarded me with a tall buzzoid, but unfortunately, he didn’t have any old wallpaper to give me. And I didn’t have any in storage, so I was unable to redeem the two I got. I’ll save them for next time.

Anyway, my monthly bank account interest pushed my total savings balance over 54 million bells.

Your current balance is 54,040,000 bells.

See you all next time! 🙂

Festivale 2023, Non-Cranky!

Today is Festivale, and I made my way over to town hall to speak with Pavé the dancing peacock. Viva Festivale!

Pave: VIVA... ...FESTIVALE!

Fortunately, I remembered to wear a costume (a matching “look” like you’d wear on Halloween) to score some free candy from each of the outdoor villagers. Of course it only works one time per villager, but it helps.

Roscoe: With a costume like that, you stand out even more than usual, nay!

The object is to give Pavé three pieces of candy (of whichever color he asks for) to receive a piece of Pavé furniture. The furniture sells for 12,000 bells apiece (except for the floor and wall, which are only worth 1,800), so it can be a lucrative event. The problem is that it takes a lot of candy, in a variety of colors. If you have some leftover candy from Halloween (or last Bunny Day), like I did, that gives you a big head start!

For my first run, Pavé wanted blue candy. Once I gathered up three of them, he gave me a Pavé bed in return.

Pave: Pave must thank you! Take this Pave bed!

But once you run out of leftover candy or free costume candy, you need to play mini-games with villagers to earn more. Unfortunately, each game is a gamble. You earn candy if you win, but you lose candy (or 500 bells) if you lose. So it’s helpful to leave your candy on the ground (or attached to a letter) so you don’t lose progress. In this case, Boomer took 500 bells from me because I’m not psychic. 😆

Boomer: Since you're not psychic, I'll need to take your 500 bells now, awwwk!!!!

Other mini-games include guessing heads-or-tails, playing rock-paper-scissors, or battling out a game of “mouth soccer,” which boils down to choosing left or right in a series of exchanges.

Boomer: GUUUUUUUUUUMDROPS! It's in, awwwk!!!!!

Note: You can’t play mini-games if your pockets are full, since you’d have no place to put the candy. 😛

Hopper: Why would you need to bring so much junk to Festivale, slushie?

I saw a new house in the spot where Gaston recently vacated, and I was surprised at what I found inside: A villager that wasn’t cranky! Even better, it was Antonio the anteater!

Antonio: SWEEEEEET! Good to meet you. My name's Antonio!

Antonio lived in Forest years ago. In fact he lived here back in 2011, when I first started this blog. He was Bob’s next door neighbor at the time, which gives me hope that Bob himself could return any month now. But for now, I’m very happy to have Antonio around again. 🙂

Antonio is a jock, by the way, which makes him the first non-cranky villager to move in since last June! That was eight months ago, when Boomer the lazy penguin arrived.

Anyway, I continued playing games and taking candy to Pavé. But I eventually used up all of my blue and red candy, and by then, I was tired of playing mini-games. So when Pavé asked for red candy again, I decided to stop. With no color trading like later games, and no saving/quitting to change his desired color like in New Leaf, I wrapped up my day…even though I had tons of green and yellow candy remaining.

But I was able to sell my eight items (six pieces of furniture and two carpets) for a total of 75,600 bells. Not bad.

Tom Nook: Ah, for all of that, I'll give you 75,600 bells!

I hope you all had a good day, and enjoyed the event (if you participated). See you next time! Viva Festivale!
