Solar Wolf

When I started up the game today, I found a letter from Rosie in the mail. She is over her cold now, and she thanked me for the medicine by sending me a deluxe range.

Fang was out enjoying the nice weather, and he said he thinks he’s actually solar powered!

Fang: Good to see ya! Some weather today, eh? I think I'm actually solar powered, I howled.
Aren’t you nocturnal, though?
How would that work?

Biskit asked me to deliver a gift to Mint for him, and I agreed to help out. But Mint wasn’t so sure that a gift from Biskit would be very tasteful.

Mint: From Biskit? I guess I shouldn't expect anything too tasteful from HIM then, hmm...?

But the gift was a birdhouse, and she seemed to like it. Well, she said “Wow!” When I returned to Biskit, he rewarded me with a cabin wall.

Several hours later, I played again at nighttime. There was a heavy meteor shower going on, and the little shooting star chime was going off almost constantly. 🌠

A shooting star flies overhead.

I went over to the Roost for K.K. Slider’s Saturday night performance, and I asked him for a random song. He played “K.K. Chorale” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Chorale.

Biskit had another request for me: He wanted a freshwater goby. I told him I’d help him out, and I tried. I tried and tried, but I wasn’t finding any freshwater goby! I eventually gave up and left his request unfulfilled. Sorry, Biskit! Maybe next time.

If you haven’t seen my latest Youtube Shorts video, with my animation of villager arrivals and departures for September, here it is. It was a busy month, with four villagers departing (across four different games) and another four moving in.

Sports in her DNA

Yesterday, I found a new house and a new villager in town. Nana’s replacement is Deena the duck.

Deena: I just moved into town, and I really haven't had time to get settled yet. My name is Deena.

I’ve had her before (back in 2012), and more recently in Wild World (in 2022). She’s not particularly one of my favorites, but I don’t hate her either. But she is a downgrade from Nana, in my opinion.

I saw a shark fin in the ocean, or at least I thought I did. Instead, it was an ocean sunfish…but that’s not a bad catch either! Monty enjoyed watching me reel it in.

I caught an ocean sunfish! I'm feeling pretty sunny now!

Pascal was in town, but I again couldn’t find any scallops to give him. Still, he told me that some people just help out to feel good about themselves.

Pascal: Some people want to help you just to feel good about themselves. But the help is still nice, maaan.
Sure, the help is nice, but be careful not to rely on the people who only pretend to care.

At the Roost, Antonio told me he was trying to cut back on his coffee chugging.

Antonio: I promised myself yesterday to cut back on the coffee chugging. Only up to 7 a day!
I think he means *down* to 7 a day.

But he said he can’t resist Brewster’s intense lattes.

Antonio: But the lattes Brewster makes are INTENSE! I can't stop downin' them, up my nose! WOOO!

Rosie has been sick with a cold, so I gave her some medicine yesterday and again today. Get well soon, Rosie!

Rosie: Thanks, la-di-da. Maybe the sleep ghosts will leave me alone now.

Tonight, I got to see inside of Deena’s house now that she’s all unpacked. Even though she has a normal personality, her house looks a jock’s house (or a gym) with all the sports equipment and lockers.

The inside of Deena's house.
Maybe sports is just in her D(ee)-N-A.

I went over to the Roost to check out K.K. Slider’s Saturday night show. I asked him for a random song, and he performed “K.K. Tango” for me.

K.K.: All right, get ready to dig the riffs on this ditty: K.K. Tango.

On my way back home from the Roost, I found a scallop on the beach. I put it in a letter so that I’ll have it for the next time Pascal shows up.

I found two items in the recycle bin today, an office locker and a high-end stereo. I’m surprised Deena didn’t snag that office locker for her gym. 😛

I recently posted my latest City Folk Moments video, so I hope you’ll check it out!

Five Old Walls

Yesterday, I received a letter from Monty in the mail. No, it wasn’t a goodbye letter, he was just thanking me for the medicine I gave him last week. He also sent me a gift: a trash bin. Wow, thanks. 🗑️

Saharah was out in the rain, looking for old wallpaper, so I started asking around for some. Antonio was the first one to sniff out a good one for me.

Antonio: that old wallpaper...is super dusty. Don't unroll it, up my nose!

Rosie also had some old wallpaper for me, and she called Saharah “a kick in the pants.” 😆

Rosie: Oh yeah! I totally heard that Saharah was in town! She's seriously a kick in the pants, la-di-da!

Felicity asked me for a new greeting, and I rarely bother with those (unlike catchphrases). But I decided to give it a try this time, and I told her to say “Ow! You bit me!” 😆

Felicity: Ow! You bit me!! Like, look at me! I'm happy!

As I continued asking for more old wallpaper, I was surprised by all the help I was getting. Mint, Marina, and Fang all helped me out too! That’s a total of five out of my nine villagers! I believe that ties a record; I’ve also received five walls/carpets on two previous occasions since starting this blog, most recently in 2016.

I took three of the old wallpapers over to Saharah, and she gave me a tropical vista. I put the other two in storage for next time.

Today, Mint met me outside my house and immediately wanted to play a game of hide-and-seek. She gave me 15 minutes to find her, Rosie, and Marina. I took my time, and I first found Marina hiding behind a tree near Antonio’s house. A couple minutes later, I found Rosie behind a tree near the fountain.

Rosie: Come on! This is hide-and-seek, not...um... hide-and-do-nothing!
I am seeking, and I found you, so what’s the issue?

Mint took me the longest to find, but it was only due to her being the farthest away. It definitely wasn’t the quality of her hiding spot… 😆

Mint tries to hide behind a sign post.

Mint was impressed with my win, and she gave me a mega plinkoid as my prize.

Mint: Amazing! Wow, I might have to rethink my notions of you, it's minty!

Antonio asked me to deliver a gift to Fang, and I was happy to help out. Antonio rewarded me with a library wall, although I’m not sure I want to use it after hearing this…

Antonio: This library wall is for you. Don't worry, I gave it a good wipe down, up my nose.

I noticed a new hybrid today (a purple tulip) in the same area where those purple roses disappeared from last week. The rain I got yesterday must’ve helped it out. 🙂

Nana’s replacement has not moved in yet, but I expect that to happen the next time I play.
