Former Villager Returns!

On Friday, Ankha asked me if the weather was gorgeous, in a pyramid.

Ankha: Isn't this weather gorgeous, in a pyramid?

I don’t know, it might be a little dusty, dry, and dark in there.

I grabbed five Nook Miles Tickets and headed off to some mystery islands to hunt for a possible new villager. Pango the anteater greeted me on the first one, and she was standing on one foot. πŸ˜›

Pango: Great to meet you! How are you? I'm Pango! Welcome to my hype-tastic island getaway!

My options were not looking very enticing, especially when Walt and Biff were on the next two islands. However, I was a bit surprised to find my buddy Hornsby on the 4th island!

Hornsby: Hey, nice to meet ya! I'm Hornsby. I'm visiting this island today.

I like Hornsby a lot, but I just had him and let him go. He only moved out in January, after all…so I left him there and continued on. The 5th (and final) island had Alice the koala. Even though she’s cute, I chose not to adopt her (sorry, Xavier). πŸ˜›

At this point, I decided to just roll the dice on a random villager. I checked the plot yesterday, and I was quite surprised to see who was moving in! It was a villager I’ve already had before: Midge!

This spot reserved for Midge's new home. -Nook Inc.

Midge moved out in 2021, and it feels so weird to have someone move back in again so soon. I haven’t even had any former New Leaf villagers move back in, and that town is almost ten years old!

K.K. Slider was in town last night, and he performed K.K. Fusion for me, Bones, Ankha, and Punchy.

Today, I went in to meet Midge. She did not seem to remember me. But welcome back, Midge! πŸ™‚

Midge: I don't think we've met yet. You're Jeff, right?

She came from J.C. Island, which is Jac’s town. I kinda wish villagers didn’t move back in so soon like this (unless it was intentional, from using an amiibo, of course). This didn’t happen in the older games; whenever a villager returns in GameCube or City Folk, I find it’s usually at least 7-10 years from their first stint in town. (Unless it was a result of train travel on GameCube.)

But at least Midge is a character that I know and like. I just hope it isn’t awkward between her and Marina, though. Marina is the other pink normal animal in town…the one who took Midge’s original house plot. πŸ˜›

I found a lost item on the beach today, and it turned out to be Louie’s workout journal. He thanked me for returning it, and he gave me some simple sunglasses.

Louie: I hope I'm not being too generous! I'm giving you some simple sunglasses.
Don’t worry. You’re not.

See you all next time! Never Stop Crossing! πŸ™‚

  1. Just wondering, what is your strategy for maxing out the Money Rock in ACNH? I can usually max out the Money Rock flawlessly in ACCF without digging any holes to prevent movement.

Speaking of ACCF, have you seen the list of Money-Making tips I commented on there? May it give you much prosperity!
However, I left my town, Peep, unattended for quite a while, and I now am tasking myself with Time-Travelling from September 20 to the Present Day, ONE. DAY. AT. A. TIME. That should be…… uhhhhhh…… fun. Before I start, what should I do every day to minimize the amount of time spent on that day?

    1. I dig holes and press the button as fast as I can. πŸ˜› Not really much strategy involved.

Yes, I saw that list, but most of that is stuff I already do. πŸ˜› Good luck with Peep, but I’m not really the person to ask about time-traveling. Just be sure to get the daily Nook Miles at the Nook Stop in Resident Services.

      1. That seems like a fine point, I’ll need to stop being too lazy to dig two holes.
Peep is my City Folk town, which I need to Time Travel in. I plan to talk to all of my villagers daily, hit the day’s money rock, dig up any fossils I find, water flowers, and check the city. Hopefully, this will only take me about 10-15 minutes per day, excluding event days.
Wavy Water is my New Horizons Island, and Mushroom is my New Leaf town. Ironically, getting the Daily Nook Miles from the Nook Stop is something I sometimes forget to do regularly!

Lastly, I’ll be waiting for Animal Island and the “jvgsjeff 3.0!”

  2. Wow! I never knew it was possible to access the Island using the GameBoy Player! I really look forward to that!

For Pocket Camp, could you at least give it a review on your Gaming Blog? I don’t believe there is one yet, surprisingly.

In regards to New Leaf on the 3DS, would it be possible to use some sort of Capture Card for videos? I’m no expert on the topic, so I don’t really know.

However, I recently started New Leaf on my 3DS, and I decided to use the name of your 2nd Active ACCF town, Mushroom, to name my town! I have recently completed the Dream Suite, so I should be stopping by Forest soon!

Lastly, another idea for your Gaming blog is everything you would add if you were tasked with developing the 3.0 Update! This could be both an entry and a video, and it would be cool to see what you think ACNH still needs now that Nintendo won’t be updating it anymore!

*Also, If you see any of my comments multiple times, sometimes my device will not display them as posted, so I’m not sure.

    1. Sorry, but I’m not interested in Pocket Camp that much.

3DS capture devices need to be installed. And when I looked into it a few years back, there were only a couple of people doing them, they were very expensive, and you’d have to send away your 3DS for possibly several months. It was not worth it for me.

      Nice, good luck with Mushroom!

Comments generally need to be approved manually (though the system does automatically recognize some regular posters). So there’s no need to post them multiple times; it won’t help them show up quicker, and I just have to delete all of the duplicates.

  3. Hey, Jeff!

I come to you yet again with some ideas!

Firstly, with New Horizons now being three years old, and Pocket Camp being about seven, it would be nice if you could start a Pocket Camp blog!!!

Secondly, for a shorter video, you could compare the walking and running speeds of each Animal Crossing game. It feels to me that hitting the Money Rock in ACNL and ACNH is harder than in previous games, so you could test this. A way to potentially do this is by laying out a path in each game, and timing the amount of time it takes to go from one end to the other by both walking and running.

Lastly, I’ll still be waiting for you to replace your GameBoy Advance SP’s battery!!

~ Mr. Michael M. III, Representative of Nook Inc.

    1. Hi, Michael! Sorry, but I don’t plan on starting a Pocket Camp blog. And comparison videos like that are hard because I can’t record 3DS footage for New Leaf. I actually think New Horizons is the easiest money rock to max out, though!

I do have one bit of good news for you, though. Even though I don’t plan on replacing my GBA battery soon, I remembered that I have another option: Using my GameCube + Game Boy Player to visit the island! I’ve only done it that way once or twice before, because it’s a bit more complicated to set up, but it will work. So I’ll try to do that this month. πŸ™‚
