Acorn Festival 2025

The Acorn Festival is underway this week, and I had a chat with Cornimer (who is totally not Tortimer) outside of town hall. He asked me to bring him all the acorns that I can find lying around town.

Cornimer: If you find an acorn, bring it to me. In fact, bring them all!

He also gave me my fortune, which said a whole lot of nothing.

Your secret fortune: Giant Acorn. Life: It's possible. Hopes: It's up to you. Karma: No news is good! Look behind you!

So I began gathering up acorns. They were everywhere!

Acorns all over the ground in Forest.

But for some reason, Pippy felt the need to rush me!

Pippy: Bunny! The acorn picking has already started! C'MON!! WE GOTTA HURRY!!

These acorns aren’t going to walk off on their own! And this festival continues all week, so there’s absolutely no reason to rush.

Whitney asked if I’ve squirrel away tons of acorns yet. 😛

Whitney: So, gorgeous, how goes the acorn gathering? You squirreled away tons yet?

And speaking of squirrels, Filbert told me that acorns are very healthy. Yeah, maybe for a squirrel, but I’m not interested in eating them. Does he think I’m nuts?

Filbert: Hey, hon, acorns are very healthy!

As for the acorns, of course I took care to dispose of the rotten ones. I took the others back to Cornimer, earning mush furniture in the process. In all, I ended up with exactly 100 acorns! Just like I did two years ago.

Cornimer: The number of acorns you've given me is 100!

They earned me seven pieces of furniture: I got a mush stool, mush end table, mush lamp, mush chair, mush dresser, mush closet, and a mush stand. I sold them for a total of 15,600 bells…which isn’t mush.

In other news, Truffles was finally over her cold. She thanked me for the medicine I gave her last week, and she rewarded me with a chainlink fence.

Filbert asked me for a new catchphrase, and I told him to say “with acorns.” Whitney had the same request, and I was out of ideas…so I said “on a pig.” Robin asked for a new greeting, and she’s now saying “Where’s Batman?” I don’t know why so many villagers were asking for new phrases today, though. 🤷

Frobert’s House

On Thursday, I received my latest bank statement from the postal division at town hall. I earned 87,000 bells in interest this month.

Pippy surprised me by asking me to buy some coffee for her!

Pippy: Hey, why don't you go buy me some coffee! Pretty please, in a pond?
Sorry, but takeout coffee hasn’t been invented yet.

It wasn’t really an actual request, though. Just random dialogue.

A new post on the bulletin board informed me that the Acorn Festival starts next week! I would say to start gathering your nuts, but there’s not really anything you can do yet. Acorns don’t appear until then.

-Acorn Festival Notice- The Acorn Festival starts next Monday! Let's all go find nature's most eerie and mysterious of gifts... THE MIGHTY ACORN!

Speaking of acorns, Mom sent me one attached to a letter yesterday. I dropped it on the ground, and I’ll probably use it next week.

Filbert was talking about the Acorn Festival too, and he wondered why Tortimer never shows up for that event (when he shows up at all the others). 😆

Filbert: You know, that reminds me, Tortimer never shows up for that festival...
Filbert: I don't understand why. What could he be doing, with legs?
It’s so mysterious. 😛

Whitney reminded me to water any wilted flowers I see, saying that hydration is key for flowers and for ladies.

Whitney: And remember, for both ladies and flowers, hydration is key!

Frobert was home, so took a close look at the inside of his house. (Note: He was already unpacked when I met him last week, but I was more focused on who my new villager was, and I didn’t pay as much attention to his house.) But it’s very colorful in here, and he has a lot of fruit-themed furniture.

I’ve also noticed that Frobert and Filbert’s names are only different by two letters. So I have two F*berts in town. Don’t be surprised if I use the wrong name at some point. 😆

Truffles has still been sick with a cold this week, so I gave her some medicine Thursday, yesterday, and again today.

The flea market was held today, and I asked Filbert about his zipper shirt. I thought it would look nice for Halloween season. However, he warned me not to slobber all over it!

Filbert: Ah! Please try not to slobber all over it, if you don't mind.

Apparently, that was his way of telling me the shirt wasn’t for sale. But there was nothing else I wanted to buy, and I didn’t buy from any of my villagers this time.

I’ll see you all next week for the Acorn Festival!

Another Jock Frog

Yesterday, Filbert told me that he is now over his cold. He thanked me for the medicine I gave him last week, and he gave me some diner tile (flooring). He felt the need to remind me that the medicine was vile, though. 😛

Filbert: Uh huh huh huh! That medicine you gave me was vile, dude.

Today, it was Truffles that was sick with a cold! So I gave her some medicine too. These colds can be annoying in the older games, when the sickness just moves from one animal to another.

I noticed a new house, and I went inside to meet my newest neighbor: Frobert!

Frobert: Hey, nice to meetcha! I'm Frobert! You're Jeff, right?

He’s pretty cool! And I thought it was interesting that Drift was replaced with Frobert. I traded one jock frog for another!

Another surprising thing was that he was already unpacked. So that means he actually moved in yesterday, but I didn’t notice! I apparently walked right by his house without realizing it belonged to a new villager. Oops. I wish villagers’ house lights were always on when a villager is home, like they are in City Folk. In Wild World, the lights are off in the daytime, so it’s easy to miss someone.

I spotted Wendell in town, so I went back to my house to grab the gar I had saved for him. I took it over to him, and he gobbled it down. He loved it!

Wendell: Ahhhhhhhh! Mmm...burp! So very delicious! So very full and happy!

As expected, he gave me the “overhead view D” pattern. It’s part of the Nazca lines, and I now have three of the four pieces to it. I had to replace one of my road patterns, but that’s alright. I wasn’t planning on using them anytime soon anyway.

Three of the four overhead view patterns from Wendell.

Unfortunately, I’ll have to wait (at least) until next summer to complete the Nazca lines set. That’s because I need a giant snakehead for the last piece, and those are out of season until next June.

Speaking of fishing, I caught a few big (or valuable) fish in the rain tonight…but not a coelacanth, sadly. However, I reeled in a red snapper, a king salmon, and a blue marlin.
