A Pile of Rice

On Thursday, Curt was talking about Tom Nook, and how he always looks so spaced out. He said it’s even rare that Tom gives him the correct change!

Curt: Giving me the correct change is a stretch for him!

Robin was also bad-mouthing Tom Nook. First, she said he’s not the best-looking guy. And then she said he’s really cheap.

Robin: But the biggest turnoff for me is that he's cheap! I can't stand cheapskates!

When I visited Truffles, she made a snout snide remark about me always wearing the same clothes. She asked if I had fresh clothes to change into, and I replied with “Fresh clothes?” She then freaked out because she thought I didn’t know what clean clothes are.

Truffles: EEEEEEEK! You don't even know what clean clothes are?!

Funny that all this is coming from a pig. Go roll in the mud or something, you sow.

Yesterday, Robin told me she was looking for a flea, on her Wii. I appreciated the unintentional rhyme. 😆

Robin: I'm looking for a bug called a flea, on my Wii.

Whitney was complaining about Gracie for some reason, and Gracie wasn’t even in town! Whitney said she can’t stand Gracie’s superior attitude, and Whitney said she knows more about fashion than Gracie does!

Whitney: I know just as much about clothes as she does... Maybe even more!

Saharah was in town, and I delivered carpet packages to Pelly and Tom Nook for her. I then claimed a shoji screen as my reward.

Outside of town hall, I listened in on a conversation between Robin and Filbert. They were talking about three-course meals, but Filbert kept saying that he just wants rice to eat.

Filbert: So, for me, a three-course meal would be rice, rice, and sparkling cider.
So rice, twice, will suffice.

As you might expect, Robin responded to say that’s not a three-course meal. She said it’s just a pile of rice.

Robin: That's just a pile of rice!

Even though I changed Caroline’s catchphrase to “on fire” last month, she’s back to using her previous one: “On my Wii.” Curt and Truffles also use it, so I’m getting pretty tired of it by now. 😛 I’m starting to think the chances of eradicating it from Forest are remote.

When I started up the game today, I was met by two characters outside of my house. I noticed that they have similar color schemes: Curt and Lyle.

Curt and Lyle meet me outside my house.

Caroline was having a good start to her day, and she wanted to share it with everyone. But there was a small problem…

Caroline: I wish I could feel like this all the time, yuck!

The “yuck” is not a catchphrase! It’s a result of a flea that was on her. But I got a laugh out of the juxtaposition of her good mood and the “yuck” comment from her having fleas. 😆

Yesterday, I posted my latest Wild World video episode, #76. I hope you’ll check it out!

Tank’s Birthday

Yesterday, Truffles was talking about how cute she looked in her diamond shirt. She even (falsely) claimed that she spent a fortune on it! 😮

Truffles: I know that! After all, I spent a fortune on it, on my Wii!
That’s hogwash!

I know it’s not true because I bought it for her myself! Whatever “fortune” she’s talking about must be a pig-ment of her imagination.

It was Tank’s birthday, so I headed over to his party.

Tank: YESSS! That thing in your pocket! That's my present, right, snappy?

I gave him a Moai statue that I got from Gulliver a while back. (I’ve been keeping a couple furniture items in my pockets for situations like this.) He seemed to enjoy the gift, and he gave me a black bishop in return. He even said now we’re best friends until the end of the universe!

Tank: As of now, we're best buds until the end of the universe, snappy!
Soo…until Tuesday or so? 😛

Caroline was also at Tank’s party, and she had an interesting idiom about cake. Too bad this game doesn’t even have cake at birthday parties. 😛🎂

Caroline: There's nothing better than birthday cake. It's like a slice of concentrated love.

Today, Drift was talking about how seeing the frothy sea makes him want to catch some huge fish.

Drift: Looking at the frothy sea makes me wanna grab a ship and catch something huge!
Okay, but how exactly are you going to grab a ship?

He said it would be a “hot adventure” of fish vs. abs. Drift is a weird dude.

Drift: Whoa, yeah! HOT ADVENTURE! Fish vs. abs, in a pond!

Whitney seemed really excited about the bear shirt that I gave her last week. It’s nice to see them follow up about things like this. I’m glad she likes it so much! 😊

Whitney: Wow, it's been a while since I've word something that makes me THIS pretty!

I could only find one of today’s fossils, despite taking an extra walk around town specifically looking for them! I’ll have to try again (and look harder) next time. 😛

Doing Favors

On Wednesday, Robin told me she’s been collecting blue furniture lately.

Robin: Lately I've been collecting blue furniture.

I took a look in the shop, and they had an elephant slide, which is partially blue. I bought it and took it over to Robin, and she said she didn’t even remember asking me for blue furniture! Even though only three minutes had passed! 😆

Robin: I haven't even mentioned blue furniture to you!
What a birdbrain.

But still, she accepted the gift. She rewarded me with some checkered tile.

Yesterday was the start of May, so I received my monthly bank statement in the mail. I earned 76,900 bells in interest this month.

Saharah was in town, and she again lost all her addresses.

Saharah: All my addresses...gone! My deliveries! My customers! What is a camel to do?!

I helped her out by taking a rug to Mabel, some wallpaper to Pelly (for Phyllis), and some wallpaper to Blathers. In return, Saharah offered me a concrete floor. That’s a solid reward, and it’s a good way to cement our friendship. 😉

Flea Market day is coming up on Saturday, and Truffles was looking forward to it. Except that she had a different name for it: Sell-Your-Lame-Old-Junk Day. 😆

Truffles: Hey, Sell-Your-Lame-Old-Junk day is on Saturday, on my Wii!

Caroline asked me to deliver a gift to Tank today, and it was a Nile shirt. He said it was “great,” but he followed that up with “I guess.” So it didn’t exactly sound convincing. Or maybe he was in de Nile.

Tank: Great, I guess, snappy.

I returned to Caroline and told her I made the delivery. She asked what Tank thought of it, and I said it was awesome. I didn’t tell her about the “I guess” remark. 😛

>It was AWESOME!

She then rewarded me with 510 bells.

Whitney asked me for some new clothes, so I bought her a bear shirt at Able Sisters. It may not be flashy, but it’s good for when she just wants the bear essentials.

Whitney: What?! Did you say you were going to give me this bear shirt?

She rewarded me with a pink tartan. I wonder why she didn’t just wear this instead of asking me for clothes? 😛

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • I shot down a yellow balloon present yesterday, and I found an automatic washer inside.
  • Curt came down with a cold this week, so I gave him some medicine yesterday and today.
  • Over at town hall, I found a classic buffet in the recycle bin. I guess it was a leftover from a feast that didn’t pan out.
