Bright Nights 2023

This is the week of the Bright Nights festival!

Hey, everybody! The Bright Nights are here!

All of the villagers’ houses, along with many of the cedar trees in town, are decorated with festive lights. It may not make a lot of sense, but the lights are pretty, and they brighten up these otherwise bleak winter nights.

Bones's house decorated for Bright Nights.
Bones’s house was one of the better displays.

Over near town hall, Butch was overconfident that he was going to win.

Butch: Yeah, all the losers in this town better wave a white flag, nutty!
Wolfgang later repeated this same bit of dialogue.

Even though the festival was dominating discussions around town, not everyone was obsessed with it. Eloise was more concerned with her dry skin. 😛

Eloise: I've actually got chronically dry skin, nutty.

But she told me a home remedy that works for her: Waldorf salad. On her face. It sounds a bit nutty to me, but she swears by it.

Eloise: The Waldorf salad facial! ...What!? It really works! Just look at me!

Bones was finally over his cold, and he thanked me for the medicine by giving me an ornate wall.

After checking out all of the decorated houses, I decided that Wolfgang’s looked the best. He has some decorated cedar trees near his house that added to the appeal. (Even if the narrow camera viewpoint prevents a good look at the whole area.)

Wolfgang's house decorated for Bright Nights.

So I returned to Tortimer to tell him my choice.

Tortimer: Perhaps I'll pass that on to Wolfgang.

I spoke with Wolfgang again, and he acknowledged my choice.

Wolfgang: Hey, sunshine! Were my lights really that awesome?

Bright Nights continue through Sunday night, so you still have several more days to check them out for yourself.

See you all next time! 🙂

Speaking to Starfish

Yesterday, I saw a large fish shadow in the river, and I caught myself a stringfish! 😀 It’s always exciting to catch a valuable fish like this. 🙂

I completely rock! YIPPEEEEEE!

Mitzi asked me for a new catchphrase to replace “nutty,” so I told her to say “or yarn” instead.

Mitzi: Hmmmmm... I'll have to think about this, or yarn.

Speaking of catchphrases, Bob has continued using his recent one, telling me that he got a picture of a couch in a jar. 😆

Bob: I recently got this really nice picture of a couch, in a jar.

It’s too bad we can’t layer catchphrases, so he could say it’s in a jar, in a box, for example. 😉

Today, Pascal was in town. Apparently, he’s been asking starfish about the meaning of life. And apparently, they spoke back to him? 😛

Pascal: Ask any starfish about the secret to life...
Pascal: And they'll tell you that you've just gotta keep hanging on, maaannn.

Pascal gave me some sea view wallpaper and then jumped into the ocean.

A shooting star flew overhead, but it happened while I was in a conversation with Goose. So I had no chance to wish on it. 🙁

I listened in on a conversation between Wolfgang and Eloise, and Wolfgang was being quite rude to Eloise. He said she was looking scraggly today.

Wolfgang: I gotta say, Eloise, you've got a scraggly look going on today...

Eloise stormed off angrily, and I can’t blame her.

Bones has still been sick with a cold, so I gave him more medicine Monday, Wednesday, yesterday, and again today. That’s five doses of medicine he’s had now (including last Friday), so I feel this has been really excessive. Colds shouldn’t last this long in a video game. 😛

I recently posted my latest Wild World video, episode 52. It covers the events of January. I hope you’ll check it out!

See you next time!

250k HRA

On Wednesday, I received this week’s HRA score, and I have topped 250,000 HRA points for the first time! My score was 252,524 to be exact.

Jeff, your room gets 252,524 points! Stylish! Elegant! SASSY! No matter where you look, this is a PERFECT room!!! -Happy Room Academy

The boost in my score was because of the addition of the two new villager photos I received last week.

Wolfgang asked if I would like a golden stamp, if there was such a thing. I knew this bit of dialogue was a trap, so I said no. He said I’m a lot more honest than I look…and I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. 😉

Wolfgang: You know, you're a lot more honest than you look.

Yesterday, Bob asked me for a new catchphrase to replace “nutty.” That was Peanut’s catchphrase that has spread around to everyone, so I’m trying to eradicate it now. I told Bob to say “in a jar.” I know it’s not my best work, but I’ll take anything over “nutty” right now.

Bob: It's just like the perfect apple, in a jar. Mmmm. Apples.

Today, Peanut told me that Bones and Eloise are one of 2023’s biggest couples, according to Ms. Nintendique magazine!

Peanut: They're one of 2023's biggest couples, according to Ms. Nintendique, right?

I’m surprised to hear that two Forest residents have been recognized nationally. 😉 But Peanut threw some shade, adding that “biggest” doesn’t necessarily mean “best.” 😛

Peanut: Well, lemme tell you, biggest doesn't always mean the best, nutty.

To add injury to insult, Bones was sick with a cold today. But I gave him some medicine I had with me. Get well soon, Bones!

Mitzi has been asking me for green furniture lately, so I bought a weeping fig at Nookington’s for her. She seemed to like it, and she rewarded me with some steel flooring.

Mitzi: A deal's a deal. Here's your steel flooring. Enjoy, nutty!

See you all next week with more!
