On Wednesday, Whitney told me that she never buys something just because everyone else wants it. She does her own thing, and dances to her own beat. I guess that makes her a real lone wolf.

Yesterday, I found Pascal down by the beach. He had an ocean-themed pun for me. 😛

Speaking of puns, I recently uploaded a New Horizons Art Guide that includes a pun for every work of art in the game. I know not all of you play New Horizons, but any Animal Crossing player is going to be familiar with many of the paintings shown there. Check it out if you’d like.

Anyway, Pascal gave me a ship cannon before he jumped into the water.

When I ran into Curt, he surprised me some dialogue I don’t recall seeing before: He told me that his grandpappy was a paleontologist who found a bunch of rare bones!

Curt then spread some dirt about good ol’ grandpappy: Apparently he liked to snack on dirt!

I hope he at least washed it first. 😉 I thought Curt was about to ask me for a fossil, but he didn’t. The conversation just ended there. 🤷‍♂️

I’m not saying Animal Crossing: Wild World is a weird game or anything, but a rhinoceros wearing a tuxedo just asked me if it was a good time to catch a cockroach.

Of course, I said yes. I mean, when isn’t it a good time to catch a cockroach? 😆 Tank then told me that even if he catches one, he’s not going to give it to me. Aww, how disappointing. 😆

Today is Valentine’s Day, and I didn’t remember if Brewster serves hot chocolate for the occasion in this game. (He does in later games.) But I went to the Roost just to check…and he just served me normal coffee. Oh well. ☕

Caroline asked me for some pink furniture, so I went to the shop to see what they had. The only thing that looked pink was this tulip table. I bought it for 1,520 bells.

I took it back to Caroline…and she refused it. It’s not pink enough for her. Oof. It totally looks pink to me, but what do I know?

Oh well. She’s not getting anything pink, then. Not even a valentine. 💝

As I started up the game tonight, I was greeted with a notice that said the Bright Nights are underway.

A letter from the postal division at town hall arrived in the mail, informing me that I earned 72,300 bells in interest this month. Nice!

When I visited Curt, he told me he was over his cold and feeling better than ever. He thanked me for the medicine by giving me a classic table. I also noticed that he moved his furniture so that the left half of his house was completely empty.

So both he, and his house, are now all right.

Each villager’s house is decorated with festive lights for Bright Nights, as are many cedar trees around town. This is Filbert’s house.

And each villager (at least the ones that are outdoors) will boast about their lights, suggesting that their house is the best one in town.

My buddy Bones wanted to hear how great his house looked, and he asked me to tell Tortimer about it.

So I went over to check out his house. Of course, all of the homes look pretty much the same. But for me, the differentiating factor is generally the number of lit-up trees near the house. Bones actually had three decorated trees near his house, although I could only fit two of them on-screen at a time.

And that’s about as good as it gets. So I went back to town hall and told Tortimer that Bones was my choice for the winner.

After that, I had to go tell Bones the good news. He said that Tank sneered at his work and called him a hack, but Bones was very happy that I appreciated his decorations. Awww.

I’d call this a successful Bright Nights festival! The event runs through Sunday, though, so you still have time if you haven’t played it yet!

The flea market is coming up soon, and Drift told me that he wants to buy some new dumbbells and a Glute Displacer.

So he said I better buy a lot from him, because Glute Displacers aren’t cheap! 😆

Wendell was in town yesterday, but I actually didn’t speak with him this time. However, I liked how Booker mentioned his appearance…

I love how he’s not entirely sure if that large walrus he saw was real or not. What exactly is going on in his head that is making him question it? Is he afraid to turn to Copper and say “Whoa, dude, did you just see a walrus with an easel and art supplies walk by just now?” 😆

Curt has still been sick this week, so I gave him some more medicine Wednesday, yesterday, and today. Get well, already! 😛

Outside of town hall tonight, Whitney told me that Bones picked up a harmonica.

I didn’t know what she was talking about at first, but she said he found it in the recycling bin. Okay, well at least that makes sense…except for the fact that this game doesn’t have a harmonica. Oh well. 🤷

Tank asked me to make a delivery to Caroline, and the gift was a blue diamond top. She wasn’t exactly thrilled with it.

I returned to Tank and told him that Caroline just thought the gift was okay. He thought it was weird that she didn’t love it. But he still rewarded me with an illusion wall.

Drift told me that when times were tough, he would spend hours collecting shells and selling them to Tom Nook. But now, he’s wondering what Tom Nook does with all those shells…make swimming suits? 😆

That made me think of Ariel’s seashell bikini in “The Little Mermaid.” But to my surprise, Drift said he wanted one for himself! 😆

On that odd note, I think that about wraps up my week in Animal Crossing: Wild World. But as a reminder, Bright Nights takes place next week! Don’t forget to check it out if you still play ACWW!
