Doing Favors

On Wednesday, Robin told me she’s been collecting blue furniture lately.

Robin: Lately I've been collecting blue furniture.

I took a look in the shop, and they had an elephant slide, which is partially blue. I bought it and took it over to Robin, and she said she didn’t even remember asking me for blue furniture! Even though only three minutes had passed! 😆

Robin: I haven't even mentioned blue furniture to you!
What a birdbrain.

But still, she accepted the gift. She rewarded me with some checkered tile.

Yesterday was the start of May, so I received my monthly bank statement in the mail. I earned 76,900 bells in interest this month.

Saharah was in town, and she again lost all her addresses.

Saharah: All my addresses...gone! My deliveries! My customers! What is a camel to do?!

I helped her out by taking a rug to Mabel, some wallpaper to Pelly (for Phyllis), and some wallpaper to Blathers. In return, Saharah offered me a concrete floor. That’s a solid reward, and it’s a good way to cement our friendship. 😉

Flea Market day is coming up on Saturday, and Truffles was looking forward to it. Except that she had a different name for it: Sell-Your-Lame-Old-Junk Day. 😆

Truffles: Hey, Sell-Your-Lame-Old-Junk day is on Saturday, on my Wii!

Caroline asked me to deliver a gift to Tank today, and it was a Nile shirt. He said it was “great,” but he followed that up with “I guess.” So it didn’t exactly sound convincing. Or maybe he was in de Nile.

Tank: Great, I guess, snappy.

I returned to Caroline and told her I made the delivery. She asked what Tank thought of it, and I said it was awesome. I didn’t tell her about the “I guess” remark. 😛

>It was AWESOME!

She then rewarded me with 510 bells.

Whitney asked me for some new clothes, so I bought her a bear shirt at Able Sisters. It may not be flashy, but it’s good for when she just wants the bear essentials.

Whitney: What?! Did you say you were going to give me this bear shirt?

She rewarded me with a pink tartan. I wonder why she didn’t just wear this instead of asking me for clothes? 😛

Here are a few other quick notes about this week:

  • I shot down a yellow balloon present yesterday, and I found an automatic washer inside.
  • Curt came down with a cold this week, so I gave him some medicine yesterday and today.
  • Over at town hall, I found a classic buffet in the recycle bin. I guess it was a leftover from a feast that didn’t pan out.

Truffles and Tank’s Tryst?

On Wednesday, Drift was telling me about how he used to sell seashells to Tom Nook when times were tough. He wondered what Tom Nook does with all of them, and this started out like dialogue I saw back in January…

Drift: Hey, what do you think Nook does with all those shells, brah?

But this time, he didn’t suggest that Tom Nook made swimming suits out of them. Instead, his theory was even more crazy: He wondered if Tom Nook eats the shells!

Drift: Ya think that maybe he... EATS 'em?

He said he thinks that Tom Nook will eat anything, regardless of whether it has amino acids. 🤔

Drift: I bet he eats anything, whether or not it has amino acids, brah.

Today, I listened in on a conversation between Truffles and Tank. Truffles accused Tank of following her around, but Tank said she was just in the way of his jogging path.

Tank: You're the one blocking my jogging path, snappy! Get out of the way!

The weird conversation got even weirder when Truffles slopped another accusation at Tank: She said he’s secretly in love with her! 😆

Truffles: You pretend like you're angry, but I can tell you're secretly in love with me.

Tank got angry, and said the only thing he’s married to is his weight bench.

Tank: N-NO WAY! The only thing I'm married to is my weight bench!

Truffles didn’t believe him, but she walked off anyway. Quite an interesting chat they had!

Later on, Caroline asked me to deliver a gift to Drift, on fire! 🔥

Caroline: I need you to deliver a present to Drift, on fire! Can ya do it?
It’s not a flaming bag of poop, is it?

The gift was a No. 5 shirt, and Drift didn’t seem particularly impressed by it. But Caroline rewarded me with 510 bells for making the delivery.

I Smell Like Coffee

Yesterday, Truffles asked me to deliver a git to Caroline. So I took the item over; it was a mummy shirt…on fire. 🔥

Caroline: Hey, look at that! A mummy shirt, on fire!
Truffles later rewarded me with a cash register. Ka-ching! 💰

Seconds later, I encountered more catchphrase fun. Curt told me not to get sick on his Wii. 😛

Curt: Be careful not to catch a chill or anything and get sick, on my Wii.
OK, I’ll Switch things up and Splatoon all over your 3DS instead.

On the bulletin board, I learned that Whitney was the winner of last week’s Flower Fest! Congrats, Whitney! 🌷

**Final Results** May the green laurels of Flower Fest victory rest upon the roof of Whitney's garden!!

Saharah was in town, and she asked me to deliver some wallpaper to Blathers, some carpeting to Mabel, and some carpeting to Tom Nook. When I eventually finished all of that, Saharah rewarded me with a boxing ring mat.

Saharah: Do you want an ancient wall or a boxing ring mat?

That was a lot of work, but I guess I really knocked out all those deliveries. 🥊

Today, Filbert asked me what I thought the distance was between our hearts. I left the slider in the middle (default), halfway between “three feet” and “one inch.” Filbert said he agreed, but he suggested that we move closer…because I smell like coffee. ☕

Filbert: Let's move closer, OK? You smell like coffee! Mmmmm!

I never knew he felt that way! He hasn’t espressoed those feelings before. 😉

A bit later, Caroline asked if I knew that flowers had feelings…on fire.

Caroline: Bunny, did you know flowers have feelings too, on fire?

This reminded me of the crazy flower lady (Magda) in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, who pretty much told me the same thing. She then went completely insane when I walked on her flowers, and I later set them on fire. 😆

But anyway, I told Caroline that I did indeed know flowers had feelings, and she was impressed. She even said she should start calling me the Flower Whisperer.

Caroline: Maybe I should start calling you the Flower Whisperer, on fire!

She clearly doesn’t know about what happened in Hyrule. 😛
