Salty Ocean Food

On Wednesday, I received Maelle’s goodbye letter in the mail. I can’t say I’ll miss the ugly duckling.

Au revoir, Jeff! I'm leaving town! I wanted it to be a big mystery, but I'm actually just bored. See ya. I'm out! -From, Maelle

I found Pascal in town, so I listened to his words of his wisdom: He said that living in the ocean means he never has to salt his food. 😛

Pascal: Living in the ocean means never having to salt your food, man.

He gave me some sea view wallpaper, jumped into the ocean, and swam away.

Butch asked for a new catchphrase to replace “woowoo,” which he learned from Deena. I told him to say “bark bark” instead.

Butch: ...Bark bark! Isn't that a little too cheerful for me?

Wolfgang was sick with a cold, so I gave him some medicine yesterday and then again today.

As I was talking to Peanut tonight, a shooting star flew overhead. Unfortunately, you can’t make a wish during a conversation, so I was out of luck. And no other shooting stars flew by during my session. Shoot.

Saharah was in town, and she asked me to make deliveries to Tom Nook and Phyllis.

Saharah: You will take it to Tom Nook, yes? Many thanks to you, friend!

When I was done, Saharah offered me a ringside seating or a lunar surface. Since I knew for sure that I already had a lunar surface, I asked for the ringside seating.

I caught a hammerhead shark in the ocean, and I think that was my third one in September alone! I don’t know why I’m seeing so many lately when I didn’t spot that many in the summer, but I’ll take it. 😛

Maelle’s replacement has not moved in yet, but I’ll be sure to find out who it is next week. Hope to see you then!

Short Stay, La-Di-Day

On Thursday, Bones gave me a free gift: a broken post. Sounds like a blog entry that won’t load correctly. 😉

Bones: I trust you'll treat my broken post the way you would me.

Today was La-Di-Day, and everyone wanted me to choose their song to be the new town tune.

Wolfgang: I've been practicing screaming at random people to improve my vocal power!
Bones: Hey, sunshine, wanna hear my funky jam?
Peanut: I've got an amazing voice, so I'm going to try to win today's big competition.

But Peanut was the first to sing for me, and I liked her song. So I chose her song as the new town tune. Congrats, Peanut!

Peanut: WOOHOO! I'm so happy, nutty! You have super good taste, sunshine!

When I visited Maelle, I was surprised to see she was already packed up in boxes and ready to move out! Even though I almost never do this, I decided to let her go…after just eight days in town! This has got to be one of the shortest stays in any of my towns ever.

Maelle: Don't make that face! I don't want to remember you with that ugly, sad face!
Well that’s how I remember you.

At the Roost, K.K. performed Aloha K.K. for me. At one point, the “camera” was briefly behind Brewster’s counter, so I got a close-up view of his siphon. 😛

A look at K.K. Slider from behind Brewster's counter.

See you all next time!

Duck and Run

Yesterday, I received Olivia’s goodbye letter in the mail.

To my friend, Jeff, I'm leaving Forest, but I'm not sad! It'll be exciting to meet some new, cultured people! Whatever! -Olivia
I’m not sad either. Bye.

When I visited Deena, she told I should never open other people’s drawers and cabinets without asking first.

Deena: HEY! You shouldn't open other people's drawers and cabinets without asking!

I wasn’t going to! But since she said that, I just had to. So I looked in all three of her lockers. 😛 She didn’t have anything good, though.

Jeff, looking in Deena's locker: Heh heh! I'm such a snoop!

I visited Wolfgang, and he asked what my favorite body part was. I chose “my legs” from his list of options, and he asked why…because he didn’t think I’d be able to run very fast. He even said I’d roll faster than I’d run. Dude, that’s harsh.

Wolfgang: Actually, you look like you'd roll faster than you'd run. Ooh, snap!
You have chosen death.

Today, Olivia’s replacement moved in: Maelle the duck.

Maelle: Sigh... I'll bet that he's looking up at the same sky right now.

She said she fled to Forest for many complicated reasons…one of which is apparently trying to get over a guy from her former town.

Maelle: I'm Maelle. I fled to this town for many, many complicated reasons.

Just like Wolfgang before her, Maelle recently lived in my City Folk town until a few months ago. She’s not one of my favorites, but maybe I’ll try to go easy on her since she’s hurting right now.

See you next week!
