First Snow

The first snow of the season fell in Forest today!!

The first snow flurries of the season! Not only does it look nice, but it gives me a break from watering flowers. And it signals the end of the dry autumn season. But I’m not the only one in town who was glad to see it; Teddy was also pretty pumped about the snow.

Teddy: I love the snow! It makes me want to run a million miles! While making my rounds, I ran into Rolf. He invited himself over to my house.

Rolf: Wow, you're pretty flexible, huh? Awesome! Let's get going! I'll be right behind you, in my cage! But once we got there, he wasn’t very flattering. He called my house a mess.

Rolf: Other people might call this place a mess, but if it works for you, then what's the problem, right? After he eventually left, Big Top invited me over to his house! What’s with all these house visits lately?

Big Top: I was going to offer you some nice ginger ale, but I drank it all. Hope you're OK with that.I soon made my way up to Main Street. Luna told me that Jeff from Tokyo was my most recent dream visitor. And T&T Emporium had Spring Blossoms for sale. It’s a song I needed for my music player, so I bought it.

Tommy: Ah, Spring Blossoms! A fine item, yes?My (human) friend Skye asked me what my turnip prices were. After I told her Re-Tail was buying them for 134 bells each, she asked me to open my gate so she could sell hers.

After she was done, we made a quick trip out to the island. I needed to catch a butterfly for Teddy, and it was too late to catch one on the mainland. So I caught an emperor, and then we went on an easy balloon-popping tour. We scored 116 points and earned gold Tortimer awards.

Tortimer: And your final score is...116 points! We returned to Forest and I ended the party. Later, I took the butterfly to Teddy. His reward for me was pretty lame (wallpaper), but he made a funny comment about his frostbite getting frostbite. You’d think a big bear like Teddy wouldn’t be so bothered by the first few snowflakes of the season. Winter has a long way to go, buddy.

Teddy: Ohhh! My frostbite is getting frostbite, waddle!

Bare Town Tree

Instead of the money rock, I had a gem rock today. I think it’s the first one I’ve had in a couple weeks or so. Unfortunately, it didn’t yield any emeralds or gold nuggets.

The ore spat out by today's gem rock.At the event plaza, I happened to look up at my town tree…and it’s bare! Yikes!

My bare town tree.I found a lost item (a mitten) down on the beach, and I began asking my villagers if it belonged to them. I was hoping it belonged to someone I still needed a villager pic from. But those hopes were dashed when Molly said it was hers. She rewarded me with a pink velvet stool. Just what I always wanted.

Molly: In terms of a reward, this is all I have on me right now. I hope you like my pink velvet stool! If you’re wondering why I was hoping for emeralds when I mentioned the gem rock, it’s because I’m in the process of customizing modern furniture with them. I originally kept the items in my back room, but today I got rid of my spooky set in my main room and started putting the emerald modern stuff in here. It’s not finished yet, but this should give you an idea of what it will look like:

My first few pieces of modern furniture customized with emeralds.I decided to take a trip out to the island again tonight, and I went on a hide-and-seek tour. As soon as I began, I immediately found Jambette! That face is hard to miss.

Jambette, in a game of hide and seek: Whoa! Was I that easy to find?I found all four animals with 3:33 remaining and scored a gold Tortimer award and nine medals.

Tortimer: That was fast! Really fast! You've earned a Gold Tortimer award, meaning you get 9 medals!I then did some fishing, bug-catching, and diving before returning to the mainland. After selling my catches, I shook a tree and a bee came out! I’m usually pretty good at catching the bees in New Leaf (unlike other Animal Crossing games), but the bee stung me this time.

Kidd was nearby, so I talked to him. Of course he commented about my face (saying I looked wild), but then he did something completely unexpected. He gave me medicine to heal myself! I had no idea animals would do that! How cool is that?

Kidd: It's medicine! If you use that, you'll get better in no time at all!

A Busy Bench

Big Top sent me a letter thanking me for visiting yesterday, as expected. But the item he sent me was just a pineapple bed.

I StreetPassed someone that had Rhonda’s pic in their house. I had to wonder…why?

A home I StreetPassed that features spooky furniture, mush furniture, and Rhonda's pic.I’m pleased to see my metal bench is getting a lot of use. This evening, I saw Molly and Big Top both sitting on it. Big Top was sitting there asleep, however.

Big Top and Molly sitting on my metal bench. Big Top was napping.Molly told me she was enjoying the changing colors of the fall leaves.

Molly: We were just sitting here, enjoying the changing colors of the leaves.I woke Big Top up, and he caught me! He asked if I was watching him sleep! Oops!

Big Top: You weren't watching me sleep, were you?I then heard a balloon present flying overhead. I got my slingshot out and shot it down as Skye looked on.

I shoot down a balloon present in front of Skye and Big Top.After that, I worked a shift at the cafe and went around town to water my flowers. Saharah was in town, so I agreed to let her make over my house. She followed me as we made our way to my house. But on the way, I passed by the bench again. This time, Kidd was using it and he asked me to join him.

Kidd: There's a space next to me. Don't be shy. Sit on down!So I sat down next to him for a while. Impatient Saharah had no choice but to stand and wait for me.

Saharah waits for me as I sit on the metal bench with Kidd.Once I got to my house, Saharah kicked me out so she could do her work. When she was finished, I went inside to see how it looked. But before I could get a good look at it, Rolf barged in!

Rolf: I know this is a bit sudden, but I got the urge to hang out with you for a while! So deal with it!While he was still over, I took this picture of Saharah’s work. She installed a lovely wall and a concrete floor. Ew.

A lovely wall and concrete floor that Saharah installed in my house.Rolf joked that he couldn’t find any incriminating evidence during his visit. Good thing he didn’t look in the wheat.

Rolf: I didn't find anything to incriminate you this time, but don't think that puts you in the clear! After he left, I went over to town hall to change my town tune. I’ve been using The Final Countdown as my town tune for just about forever, so I was due for a change. And even though I’m not a huge fan of Christmas stuff when it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, I changed my town tune to Deck the Halls. Here are the notes if you’re interested in using it:

Music notes for a Deck the Halls town tune in Animal Crossing.I then went up to Main Street for my shopping run. I ordered several pieces of modern furniture from the Happy Homes Showcase, so that I can start replacing my spooky furniture in my main room. And after depositing some money into my bank account, my balance reached 2,000,000 bells for the first time.

Your current balance is 2,000,000 bells. And finally, I finished up my day with a quick trip to the island. I went on a dragonfly tour, where I caught 12 dragonflies in five minutes for a gold Tortimer award and six medals.
