Independence Day

Kidd was sick today, so I went up to the Emporium to buy him some medicine. But he indicated that he’s going to need more medicine in the coming days.

Kidd takes his medicine.Gulliver was down on the beach, and I was able to determine he’s headed to Vietnam. He will send me a gift from there tomorrow.

Gulliver: Phooooooo! That's right! It's Vietnam! I remember now!And today is the 4th of July, also known as Independence Day in the United States. Unfortunately, New Leaf doesn’t recognize this as a holiday (unlike the GameCube version of Animal Crossing). But I took matters into my own hands by making a pattern of the U.S. flag.

QR code of the American flag. It’s impossible to make it perfectly in a 32 x 32 grid, but I think I came pretty close. It has 16 stripes instead of 13, and 49 stars instead of 50. But I’m happy with how it turned out. I put the new flag up at town hall.

My American flag at town hall.Happy 4th of July to all of the Americans reading this! And have a great weekend, everyone!

Drago Moves In

Saharah was in town today, and she installed a sand garden and backyard fence in my house. It seems like I get these items from her pretty often.

A sand garden and backyard fence. In the Roost, I finally got Resetti’s coffee right! For once, he had nothing to complain about.

Resetti: Whoa! This is the good stuff! Smooth but with a little kick.I made my way around to the new villager’s house and I went inside to meet Drago. To my surprise, he wasn’t a random move-in; he came from Maine. I’m guessing he’s probably from a StreetPass town.

Drago: Anyway, I'm Drago. I just moved here today from Maine!Up in the Dream Suite, Luna told me Amy from Waffleby was my most recent dream visitor. And when I returned to Forest, I saw that Resetti’s hole was open! Maybe he liked his coffee so much that he wanted to invite me over!

The open entrance to the Reset Center. This was my second time entering his mole cave. But he didn’t have anything interesting to say. In fact, he was being a bit gross. He told me how he had trouble clipping his toenails because his gut was so big. Wayyy too much information there, pal.

Resetti: Even if I wanna cut 'em, I can hardly get around this big belly a' mine! I can barely SEE 'em! It's the pits!Just a reminder that there is no Friday Night Forest tomorrow.

Agent S’s Birthday

It was raining in Forest today, and that’s good news to me since I don’t need to water my flowers. But as I walked around town, I found something I did not want to see. Perhaps you can spot the problem in this picture:

A new house plot on a path intersection.Yes, that’s a villager plot not only over my path, but right at an intersection. Ugh. I had been lucky with the locations of villager houses for the past 14 months, but that luck ran out today. But another question was raised…who is the villager? Please don’t be Jambette. The house will belong to Drago the dragon alligator.

This spot reserved for Drago's new home. - Nook's HomesI’ll wait and see how much I like him once he moves in. But his house location alone is enough to make me consider letting him move out the first time he asks. But we’ll see. That’s bound to be months away regardless.

Today was Agent S’s birthday, so I dropped in to celebrate with her. Kidd was also visiting.

Agent S: Awww... Did you come all this way just to celebrate with me? I'm so happy!Of course, she asked if I brought her a present when I spoke with her.

Agent S: Kidd knows how important birthdays are to a squirrel, so he got me an awesome gift!I gave her a customized ranch dresser. She said it wasn’t on her radar, but she thanked me anyway. Even if it wasn’t her ideal gift, she was nicer about it than Kidd was on Saturday.

Agent S: Why celebrate once a year? I can throw myself a party tomorrow for being one year and one day older!Back outside, Gala told me she’s started wearing her pajamas inside out and backward. She said it prevents bad dreams. If you say so…

Gala: Lately, I've been into wearing my pajamas inside out and backward.I went over to the town of St. Pete to give Stacie some pink roses. She’s my newest moderator on the friend code exchange page here on JVGS.

Visiting Stacie in St. Pete. When I returned to Forest, I went up to Main Street for my shopping run. That included a stop in Katrina’s shop to get my fortune told. I’m trying to get the two items Katrina will rarely sell, but it’s bound to take a while.

Katrina: With Cancer as my witness, I promise I'll never leave...I also stopped in the Dream Suite to update my dream town. Luna told me that Angel from Amestris was my most recent dream visitor.
