Pearls Before Swine

When I visited Inkwell on Monday, he was showing off his “spankin’-new” super toilet. 😛

Of course, he was trying to talk me into buying it from him…at a price of 1,584 bells. When I’m trying to earn someone’s villager picture, I’ll do almost anything for them (except collect petition signatures or catch a fish/bug that’s not available). So I bought the toilet from him. 😛

I later regifted the toilet to Molly when she asked me for some furniture. In return, she gave me a tennis table.

Molly: Oh, a super toilet! Nice!
It’s spankin’ new!

Cube was sitting on the bench near town hall, and he asked me to join him. I gladly did just that, and I watched the geyser almost touch the moon. 🌙

Yesterday, Graham the hamster was camping at the campsite. Even though I have an open spot in town, I didn’t invite him here.

Graham, at the campsite: Hey, I'm here visiting town! I'm Graham, and I'm just enjoying my camping trip.

My two penguins were having a discussion about food. Cube asked Aurora why she never shares her homemade snacks with him. Aurora wondered how Cube knew she cooked, and he said that he could smell it from a mile away. Aurora said that the artistic presentation of her banana bread would be lost on Cube.

Aurora: I can see my artistic presentation would be lost on you...like setting pearls before swine.

Yeowch, that is harsh. Aurora then ended the conversation, saying she had a headache. I never knew Aurora was such a savage.

Aurora: Excuse me. I have a sudden headache to deal with.

Today, I found Saharah in town, right next to my house. I hired her to put in some new wallpaper and carpeting, and she installed a ranch wall and modern wood flooring.

I ran into Cube tonight, and he said that holes in socks aren’t cool, but holes in pants are awesome. He’s a weird dude.

Cube: Holes in socks aren't cool, but holes in pants are awesome!
I disagree completely.

If you haven’t yet seen my annual slideshow that I posted earlier this month, here it is: The 9th Year in Pictures.

According to Luna, my recent dream visitors include Drake from Doborage and Sunbeam from Arcadia. Thanks for stopping by!

Forest Turns 9

On April 24th (my first day playing after Big Top moved out), I received his goodbye letter in the mail. He included his picture along with the letter. It was weird seeing an empty spot where his house sat for years. So long, old friend.

The empty spot where Big Top lived for almost nine years.

Cube was talking about Weeding Day, and he wondered if weeds would taste good if you cooked them right. Did he just predict cooking in New Horizons? 😉

Cube: Do you think those weeds would taste good if you cooked them right?

I didn’t play on Weeding Day, but I did play again yesterday. When I spoke to Aurora, it looked like I was talking to a lucky cat instead of a penguin. 😂

Aurora: Welcome to my home, Dr. J! I was just sitting down to write a poem about a compost bin.

Today (May 2nd), Isabelle greeted me outside of my house. It’s my town anniversary, so Isabelle dragged me over to the town tree/event plaza for a celebration. Aurora (one of my starters) was also there, along with Porter and Hornsby. Happy 9th anniversary, Forest!

Isabelle: Exactly 9 years ago today, Jeff arrived in Forest and became our mayor.

She gave me another sapling clock, and we fired off some party poppers.

If you’d like to relive my first day in Forest, you can see that first blog entry here.

After the celebration was over, Cube told me he was obsessed with getting a female mask. To be specific, it was the female mask I just got from Agent S.

Cube: I've been kind of obsessed with getting a female mask lately, Jeff.
Are you trying to sneak into Gerudo Village?

Cube offered me 400 bells for it, and I agreed to the exchange.

In an area overgrown with orange roses (and other flowers), I ran into Saharah. I hired her to install new wallpaper and carpeting in my house.

Saharah: I have many wallpapers for the papering of walls. Many carpets for the petting of cars.

I paid her 3,000 bells, and she put in a skyscraper wall and daisy meadow. I didn’t necessarily want either of them, but oh well.

Back outside, Lolly told me she was going to move out of town on May 12th. Even though I’ve said I may let some long-time villagers go, Lolly is not one of them. 😛

See you all next time!
