I nearly forgot about Joan this morning; it was about 11:56 a.m. when I turned the game on, and I still needed to get money out of the bank. Once I did, I had trouble finding Joan. I found her at 11:59, and the clock struck noon as I was buying my turnips. The good news is that she was selling them for only 90 bells apiece, which is the lowest I’ve seen. I bought 1,100 of them for a total of 99,000 bells.
After putting them into storage (except for one bundle, which I keep to remind me to check prices), I checked my mail for the day. Teddy and Molly sent me letters, and so did Gulliver. He sent me this conical straw hat from Vietnam.
Festivale is tomorrow, and Agent S told me I’ll get to see her amazing dance moves!
Copper told me Phineas was in town, and I had no idea why. But when I tracked him down, he told me I earned a new Expert Angler badge because I’ve caught a lot of fish.
I guess that 45 minutes of fishing for Teddy yesterday wasn’t a total loss after all! Now I feel a bit guilty for drowning him.
Here is an up-to-date look at my badges.
Skye asked me to check out her house, so I reluctantly agreed. But not before dragging her to the pyramid for a picture!
Once we got to her home, she was telling me about her wharf roach.
She told me she’s learned a lot from the roach! I was afraid to ask what exactly she’s learned.
After taking a short nap on her bed, I left and headed up to Main Street. Luna told me that Scott from NYC was my most recent dream visitor. And at Able Sisters, I bought a Festivale tank. I’m hoping I don’t need to wear this Festivale clothing, but I’m equipping it on my mannequin for now–just in case.
Tiffiny was looking to go on some island tours, so I joined in. Bre and Kelsi were also there at Tiffiny’s town.
First, I stopped at her Re-Tail to sell some perfect peaches. I had ten baskets, which I sold for 270,000 bells. After a brief walk around town, we headed off to the island.
We went on a bug-catching tour, a hide-and-seek tour, and a fishing tour. I did okay at the hide-and-seek one (finding two of the four villagers–and a tree!), but I did very bad at the fishing and bug-catching ones. But it was still fun and we all earned some medals.
After that, I returned home. I was selling an item to Melly, so I headed to her town Rotledge. I didn’t see much of her town, but I definitely liked what I saw. She had patterns of a river (or brook or stream or creek, I don’t know) and some flower bed patterns too.
She also has flowers lining the river. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have a dream address to visit, but her town looks great from what I saw.
Later on, Wendy asked if she could sell some stuff in my town. She also invited me over to her town, where she put down a yellow brick path.
She asked to borrow my gold axe, which she needed to cut down the trees that were in the way of her path. So she cut the trees down and I was the designated digger.
At one point, I “accidentally” stood in a blank spot as she was trying to lay the path down. She kept trying, but she ended up putting the tiles down everywhere except where she wanted. I joked that Oakville will have a roundabout.
After that, I returned home and ended my game for the night.
One other topic I’ve been meaning to mention: I’m considering switching from a night owl town to a beautiful town. The main reason of course is that I wouldn’t have to water my flowers. That would save a lot of time and effort. There are negatives though, of course. Naturally, stores would be closed earlier than I’m used to, which could be very inconvenient for a night owl like me. Also, flowers won’t wilt, which means I can’t create new gold roses. Also, fewer weeds will appear, making the weed badge much harder to get.
Ultimately, I think I will switch between the two ordinances. For summer, which is prime bug season, I’d definitely want those night owl store hours. Night owl would also be good for rainy seasons, where the beautiful ordinance wouldn’t be as helpful (since I wouldn’t need to water every day anyway). But for those dry days of autumn, I’d definitely want the beautiful town ordinance. I haven’t made a switch yet, but I think it’s just a matter of time.
I stayed for a few minutes, but these visits bore me to death. Once I left, I started noticing butterflies flying around outside. Spring is really here!
Up in GracieGrace, the gorgeous furniture and card furniture is gone. Gracie is now selling princess furniture.
Georgie lost her pears last night when we disconnected, so she came over today to collect them again. I also let her catalog my Festivale accessory.
We stood there doing emotions for a few minutes and then I ended the session. I went up to the Dream Suite, where Luna told me Jack from Chesire was my most recent dream visitor. And then down on the beach, Gulliver was once again telling me about the country with motorcycles and condensed milk. I remembered what Beth told me last time, so I knew it was Vietnam. He’ll be sending me a gift from there tomorrow.
Later on tonight, Teddy asked me for a carp. No problem, that’s a common fish, right? Hahaha! So I fished. And fished. And fished. I was catching everything except a carp. It wasn’t going well. But at the bridge, Rolf pinged me. He was telling me about a fox dude he saw in another town.
I didn’t know where this story was headed, so I asked the obvious question: What did the fox say?
He had a common painting, and Rolf was offering it to me for 3,136 bells. I didn’t have one in my museum, so I bought it. It’s a good thing too, because it turned out to be real! I quickly donated it to the museum.
I then resumed my search for Teddy’s
I quickly made her change her mind. Anyway, I soon found a lost item near the police station. Couldn’t Copper have just put it in the lost-and-found?
As I continued fishing, I would ask the villagers I saw if the lost item was theirs. It didn’t take long to find that Skye was the owner. She rewarded me with her picture! I already had one of hers, so this can be added to my future giveaway stash.
I ran into Agent S again, and she asked if I could imagine her in a big, fluffy skirt. Actually no, I can’t.
After at least 45 minutes of fishing, I finally caught a carp for Teddy! But then I had trouble finding him! He was down on the beach with a fishing rod! You can’t catch a carp in the ocean, you fool! But I gave him the carp and he rewarded me with a cloudy tee. -.-
After the long fishing search, I was really tired of playing the game at this point. But then I remembered to check for a new DLC item since it’s a new month. So I went to the post office, and Phyllis gave me a sprout table.
That’s a good springtime item. It can be ordered from the catalog for 4,120 bells.
See you all tomorrow!
Tiffiny also came over to sell perfect pears. She went from being broke to having two million bells in ten minutes.
At Shampoodle, I took Kim’s suggestion and got some green contacts.
The Able Sisters had some Festivale pants. I bought them even though I’m hoping I won’t have to ever wear them.
Meanwhile, Tia won’t stop with all the tea puns! I was starting to get steaming mad.
Georgie sat at the town tree to view my town’s history, so I sat and joined her. Forest has had 263 visitors so far. I also noticed that the town tree’s leaves are back.
After we stood up, I gave Georgie my traditional town welcome: I smacked her with a hammer. Welcome to Forest.
We then did some glitching. Georgie and Kim both had tweeters, so it was easy to push them into the river. But I had to use the net method, and it was taking me a while. Eventually, I joined them under the waterfall though.
We then took Kapp’n’s boat out to the island and went on a shark-catching tour. I don’t mean to brag
Actually it’s somewhat rare for me to do that well. But it’s nice to finally come out on top for a change.
We also went on a scavenger hunt. We had to find specific totem poles and specific plants. Are you kidding me? The plants all look the same to me! They’re green leafy things in pots. I literally picked up every plant in each house and then just dropped the ones I didn’t need. Fortunately though, I only had to visit three houses–each one had one item I needed.
Georgie was the first person to fall into a pitfall. And the second. And the third! She kept getting back in, and falling out! Of course she hasn’t played sumo in years (and perhaps not 3-person sumo ever), so she didn’t really know to stay out after being eliminated. But we had to tell her to stay out–otherwise all the pitfalls would be gone before Kim and I even finished! We had a long battle, but ultimately Kim beat me once again.
She’s the winner and still champion. But I do want to remind everyone that those were her pitfalls that she raised since they were baby exclamation points. I can’t punctuate that fact enough.
I’m sure I’ll play sumo again, but for now I want to keep Forest clean. I don’t want those pitfall seeds in my town, thinking dirty thoughts and plotting against me. 😛
