Scented Paint

Sadly, Daisy has moved out of town since the last time I played. I got her goodbye letter in the mail today.

Daisy's goodbye letter.

I found a new villager house near Belle’s house, and it’s right up against the river. I believe homes in later games can’t be right up against the river like this–they need a space in between. But the new river home belongs to Betty the chicken, and she was quite surprised to see me.

Betty: Eeeeek!
I guess Betty wasn’t ready.

I went inside to check out her house, and I saw that she has three chairs in here. As if she would ever use that many at once.

I boarded Kapp’n’s boat and took a trip out to the island. On the way, a dead body floated by and Kapp’n kept right on singing!

The show must go on.

I didn’t stay on the island long; I quickly returned to the mainland and tracked down Gulliver (who was actually alive, just unconscious). I talked to him repeatedly until he woke up and gave me a prize: Plate armor.

Gulliver: In the end, however, that slimy beast prevailed, and I was plunged into the deep, green sea...

When I spoke to Ursala, she told me that she painted the roof of my house! She used orange paint, but not just any orange paint–scented orange paint! She said it will smell like an orange grove! I don’t recall seeing this bit of dialogue before.

Ursala: I painted it orange! I used a scented paint, so it'll be like living in an orange grove!

I stopped by the post office and then the dump, where I found a pad of paper and a phonograph. I returned home and took a look at my new orange roof. It might not be my favorite color for a roof, but it’s not horrible…I may keep it for a while.

At least it matches the Browns helmet on my sign board.

See you next time!

  1. No villagers (or players) can have houses that close to the river in any game after GC, you’re right! And your house actually looks pretty tied in with that paint, it’s nice 🙂
