Sleepy Villagers

Sadly, Savannah has scampered off into the sunset. I got her goodbye letter in the mail yesterday. Why did my zebra have to leave me? She really crossed the line with that move.🦓

Dearest Jeff, I'm moving. There, I said it. I'd tell you where I'm going, but if you were to come visit, I...just know I'd cry. Please forgive me for going. This is how things must be. Take care! -Savannah

When I spoke with Candi, she noticed a trilobite in my pockets (it was one of the fossils I got back in the mail). She wanted to buy it for 200 bells! No way! It may not be the most valuable fossil, but it’s still worth a lot more than that!

Candi: Hey, how's about you sell it to me for... Does 200 bells sound good, sweetie?
It’s a grave injustice.

Right next door to Candi (in the spot where Yuka once lived), I found a new house. The new kid on the block is Chevre the goat. 🐐

Chevre: Oh! Where is my mind? Gee, I'm scatterbrained today! My name is Chevre.

I like Chevre, but not nearly as much as I liked Savannah.

Genji built an igloo in town, and he told me why it’s warm inside: Because it traps his body heat inside, with onion.

Genji: You know why it's so warm? It's because the igloo traps my body heat inside, with onion!
Well they do say to dress in layers in winter. 🧅

I played again tonight, around 10 p.m., and several of my villagers were sleeping outdoors. Of course, I woke them up so they could go into their houses and sleep properly.

Chevre: Yaaaaawn... Oh, that was so refreshing, la baa.
Go to bed! It’s pasture bedtime!
Maple: I can't believe I fell asleep standing up! What's wrong with me?
Maybe you were just unbearably sleepy.

When I visited Puck, he said Tom told him his clothes were too small for him. But he insists that it’s Tom’s clothes, not his, that are too small. 😛

Puck: I think Tom's clothes are too small, as a matter of fact! Yeah! In your face, Tom!

That may be a bit of a stretch. But these arguments seam like a waist of time. 😉

I found Gulliver washed up on the beach, and he gave me a Chinese lion.

Gulliver: ...Oh yeah... I was mopping the poop deck, when I fell overboard... It gets so slippery!

Hank later noticed it and offered to trade his fan palm for it. I agreed to the exchange, because Hank is my buddy. 🙂

Ursala was telling me about an upcoming wallpaper sale that Tom Nook is going to have tomorrow. Until she realized I might beat her to the shop and buy everything before she gets a chance, that is. So she told me to ignore what she just told me.

Ursala: So, Jeff, um, just forget everything you just heard. There's no sale or anything, grooomph!

And to think, she was just lecturing me about honesty not that long ago!

Just a few feet away from Ursala’s house, I found one of today’s fossils practically underwater! At least momentarily, when the tide rolled in.

Check it out! I dug up a fossil!
