Glasses, Rainbow

Yesterday, I received Aurora’s goodbye letter in the mail. It’s disappointing to see her go, but that’s how things go in this town. And at least I still have her in New Leaf.

Jeff, FYI: I recently decided to move for reasons I prefer not to go into. I can't tell you where I'm going, but I will say this: I won't forget you! Best of luck--to both of us. Goodbye! -Aurora

But Aurora’s replacement was another cute, normal villager that I like a lot: It’s Lily the frog! Welcome to Forest, Lily!

Lily: Hello. Is this the first time we've met, toady? Because you don't look all that familiar...

She has lived in Forest before, back in 2015…but only for a month. Another interesting bit of trivia is that both of my “temporary” villagers are frogs (Lily and Wart Jr.). Add in the permanent Emerald, and Forest is currently 20% frogs!

When I ran into Tom, he tried to sell me some lacy paper 2,910 bells! Stationery is one of the cheapest items in the game, and asking nearly 3k for it is crazy! No way, Tom!

Tom: I just happen to have some lacy paper on me. Wanna take it off my hands for 2,910 bells?

I (accidentally) asked Genji for a job, and he asked me to get his glasses case back from Tom. I agreed to help out.

Genji: Oh, yeah, I got a little job for ya. Check this out. I lent a glasses case to Tom the other day.

But when I asked Tom about the glasses case, he said he gave it to Static…because Static was literally begging for it. Somehow I doubt Genji’s glasses case is really such a popular item around town.

Tom: Actually, Jeff, Static took the glasses case from me just the other day.

Once I eventually tracked down Static over by the waterfall, he told me he gave it to Candi! And he doesn’t care enough to bother getting it back! How rude!

Static: Sorry, but can you talk to Candi about getting it back? I don't care enough to bother with it.

Fortunately, Candi still had the glasses case by the time I got to her house. She handed it back to me.

Candi: OK! Here's Genji's glasses case, sweetie!

I went back to Genji and gave him the case. He was stoked to have it back, and he rewarded with a tulip table.

Genji: Dude! That's my glasses case!

Tom gave me his paw (well, his paw shirt), and I decided to put it on.

I played again today, and I spotted a rainbow!

A rainbow appears in the waterfall in Animal Crossing for Nintendo GameCube.

This is just the 3rd time I’ve seen a rainbow in this game. I also went around the lake to check the view from the other side as well:

The rainbow in Animal Crossing.

Puck told me he found a cowhide rug, and he gave it to me for free. But only because it’s not edible. Thanks anyway, Puck!

Puck: I don't think it's edible. In fact, I'm sure it's not. So, I'll give it to you, brrrrrrrrr. Enjoy.

Hank told me that he woke up this morning with every muscle in his body aching from his last workout. He was thrilled about that, so he got up and danced! 😆

Hank: I woke up this morning, and every muscle in my body was aching from my last workout!
Hank: I was so happy, I jumped out of bed and danced around! Which hurt a lot, by the way.

But right after seeing the cheery Hank, I ran into the dreadful Baabara. She wanted me to spend all the money I had (39k) for a single carpet or wallpaper. No way, crook!

Baabara: Well, care to buy slate flooring or a library wall for 39,458 bells?

And then there was Ursala. She asked about my debt to Tom Nook, and I declined to answer. So she called me a burden on society. 🙄

Ursala: You seem to be a little touchy, Jeff! I guess you're still just a burden on society!

Earlier today, I posted a short, 2-minute video showing my quest searching for Genji’s glasses case. Check it out if you’d like!
