Mmm Mmm Good

Last Tuesday (April 7th), I started up the game to participate in the Cherry Blossom Festival. But before I headed over to the wishing well, I checked my mail. I found a goodbye letter from Gaston. So long, my rabbity mustached friend.

Jeff, Sorry if this throws you for a loop, but I'm ditching this one-human town, and I may not be coming back. Thanks for being tolerable. Maybe we'll meet again sometime. Sincerely, Gaston

Sydney asked me to pick a hand, and she gave me a free pitfall. But she told me not to bury it anywhere, because no one likes a mischief maker. Well what does she expect me to do with it, then? That’s literally a pitfall’s only purpose!

Sydney: Please don't bury it anywhere, with wings! Nobody likes a mischief-maker!

Over at the wishing well, Hank and Ursala were seated at one table. Hank was trying to count all of the petals that have fallen. Unfortunately, he lost count at 1,984.

Hank: I just lost count of the petals that have fallen! Now I gotta start over!

Ursala said all the food was delicious, so she told me to eat up!

Ursala: Now, eat up, you! Everything's quite delicious, I promise, grooomph!

Genji and Kody were at the other table.

Kody: This festival rocks! We oughta do this every day, okey-dokey!

And Belle was the dancing fiend this year.

Belle: How's my dancing? Pretty pro-style, huh? It's definitely not for beginners, cuddles!

After I left the festival, I met Gaston’s replacement: Wart Jr. has popped into town. He may be ugly, but he’s toad-ally harmless.

Wart Jr: Anyway, I'm Wart Jr. It's a pleasure meeting you, grr-ribbit!

On my way back home, I caught a bee…right next to my own statue!

Jeff, standing next to his own statue: I caught a bee! Bzzz, bzz, bzz, bzzzzz!

I played again today, and Tom took notice of a cockroach I had in my pocket. He wanted it, and he offered me a peach for it! That’s a foreign fruit, so that’s a really good deal (for me). Not so great for him.

Tom: that cockroach! I've never seen one before... I'll trade you a peach for it. That sound fair?

He thought the cockroach was the best! But I do have to question his use of the word “mmm.” 🤔

Tom: This is so great! Mmm, this cockroach is the best. Thanks, me-YOWZA.

I found Gulliver down on the beach. He said he fell off his ship because of a pirate attack. Or sharks. Or…something. (Very convincing.)

Gulliver: What I mean to say is... It was pirates! Or sharks again... Something like that...

He gave me a shogi piece for “saving his life,” which was really just waking him up.

Up at the dump, I found a perfect painting and a new spring shirt. That sounded like an appropriate shirt to wear this time of year, so I decided to put it on.

Me wearing the new spring shirt in Animal Crossing for Nintendo GameCube.

I took the painting over to Tom Nook. But surprisingly, he only paid 490 bells for it.

I posted my latest GameCube Moments video today, #29! It contains highlights from December 30th through last week (excluding the spring sports fair, since I already posted that as a separate video).

Never Stop Crossing!

  1. Have to remind myself that this is the *one* game in the series where the artwork is always real; forgeries weren’t a thing until “Wild World” and it wouldn’t be until “New Leaf” that the fakes could be identified on the spot.
