It was raining in Forest today. When I checked my mail, I found a goodbye letter from Bill the duck. So long, quacker.
I also met my newest neighbor Sprocket, a robotic ostrich. Oh, is there such a thing?
When I chatted with Belle, she wanted me to help her with a maze from her Nintendo Power magazine. I’m glad these ridiculous mazes never made it into later Animal Crossing games.
Baabara was upset that she hadn’t seen me for five weeks. But there’s no need for name-calling!
Kody was telling me how hungry he is. Apparently, he’s ready for the harvest festival already. It’s still seven weeks away though, dude.
Over by the wishing well, Sydney wanted to play a game with me to determine if I have psychic powers. My actual psychic powers warned me that she was going to rip me off if I agreed, so I declined the offer.
I pulled lots of weeds around town, until the wishing well said my town was perfect once again. See you all next time!
Sadly, Lily the frog has moved out of town. I got her goodbye letter in the mail today. For such a cute frog though, she sure uses ugly stationery.
I found Gulliver down on the beach, washed up after one of his crazy adventures. Once I woke him up, he gave me a plate armor once he was done rambling.
Baabara told me she wanted to see the world, or at least a nicer part of it. (How rude). She told me to tell her if I find a nice town, so she can move away. Gladly!
She said she can now move away without hesitation. Of course, there’s no truth to this. Unlike similar conversations in later Animal Crossing games, on GameCube they don’t actually result in the animal leaving. I wouldn’t mind if Baabara proved me wrong, though! I wooldn’t miss her a bit.

Over by the wishing well, Bill asked for a new catchphrase to replace “quacko.” I told him to say quackpot instead.
Hank was also near the wishing well, and he told me how much he was looking forward to Halloween. However, Static did not share that enthusiasm.
After finishing my walk around town, I decided to drop everything and go fishing.
Early September is the best time of year to earn a lot of bells if you go ocean fishing. Because there are no sea bass or jellyfish right now, every ocean fish you catch will earn you at least 3,000 bells. For more details, check out my September Fishing Guide.
With my pockets empty and only a fishing rod in my hands, I decided to fish until I filled my inventory with 15 fish. That took me just six minutes, as I caught 11 red snappers and 4 barred knifejaws.
I went up to Nookington’s to sell my catches, and I earned a nice 53,000 bells. Not bad for six minutes of fishing!
When I started up the game today, I received Nosegay’s goodbye letter in the mail. Maybe she sniffed out a better town.
To the southeast of Candi’s house, I saw a green frog. I thought it was Emerald at first, and I wondered why she was so far from her house. But then I spoke to the frog, and I saw that it was actually Lily! I’ve had Lily in my ACCF town for a while, until she moved out in June. But now I know where she was moving to: My GameCube town! 😛
After fishing a huge arapaima out of the river, I went up to Nookington’s. I felt it was time to change my clothes, so I bought this MVP shirt.
On the first floor, I also bought some sky blue paint for my roof.
I found Gulliver down on the beach, so I woke him up and he told me his tall tales of how he ended up in the ocean. He then gave me a Chinese lion for listening to all of his lion lyin’.
I met up with Baabara, and she was telling me that August 12th is June 28th according to the lunar calendar. And according to my calendar, Baabara is a bit loony.
Ursala told me my eyes looked bloodshot, so she decided to give me an eye exam!
After a few questions, she told me my answer was wrong (even though it wasn’t). But she said my eyes were okay, and she gave me permission to stay up as late as I wanted. Wow, how nice of her.
I then headed over to the lake. The night of August 12th is when you can see the annual meteor shower, based on the real-life Perseids.
In an apparent glitch, Emerald accused herself of hogging the best viewing spot!
Her next statement was even odder, saying “Emerald’d better leave room for the rest of us.”
After I was done talking to everyone, I went onto the pier and just watched the shooting stars. The calm, peaceful music that plays at this viewing party is one of my favorite songs in the game. In fact, I left my game on for a good part of the evening just so I could continue hearing it play as I wrote this blog entry.
