Meteor Shower 2015

When I started up the game today, I received Nosegay’s goodbye letter in the mail. Maybe she sniffed out a better town.

Nosegay's goodbye letter on fireworks paperTo the southeast of Candi’s house, I saw a green frog. I thought it was Emerald at first, and I wondered why she was so far from her house. But then I spoke to the frog, and I saw that it was actually Lily! I’ve had Lily in my ACCF town for a while, until she moved out in June. But now I know where she was moving to: My GameCube town! 😛

Lily moved to town. After fishing a huge arapaima out of the river, I went up to Nookington’s. I felt it was time to change my clothes, so I bought this MVP shirt.

Animal Crossing MVP shirtOn the first floor, I also bought some sky blue paint for my roof.

I found Gulliver down on the beach, so I woke him up and he told me his tall tales of how he ended up in the ocean. He then gave me a Chinese lion for listening to all of his lion lyin’.

Gulliver forgot how to swim.I met up with Baabara, and she was telling me that August 12th is June 28th according to the lunar calendar. And according to my calendar, Baabara is a bit loony.

Baabara's lunar calendarUrsala told me my eyes looked bloodshot, so she decided to give me an eye exam!

Ursala gave me an eye exam! After a few questions, she told me my answer was wrong (even though it wasn’t). But she said my eyes were okay, and she gave me permission to stay up as late as I wanted. Wow, how nice of her.

Ursala: "You can stay up as late as you wish."I then headed over to the lake. The night of August 12th is when you can see the annual meteor shower, based on the real-life Perseids.

Tortimer: "I love shooting stars."Tortimer: I'm one tiny animal in a huge cosmos. In an apparent glitch, Emerald accused herself of hogging the best viewing spot!

Emerald: Emerald's hogging the best viewing spot! Her next statement was even odder, saying “Emerald’d better leave room for the rest of us.”

Emerald: "Emerald'd better leave room for the rest of us!"After I was done talking to everyone, I went onto the pier and just watched the shooting stars. The calm, peaceful music that plays at this viewing party is one of my favorite songs in the game. In fact, I left my game on for a good part of the evening just so I could continue hearing it play as I wrote this blog entry.

4th of July Fireworks Festival

Sadly, I received Bea’s goodbye letter in the mail today. I wish she could have stuck around longer. Dog gone.

Bea's goodbye letter.Unlike every other Animal Crossing game, this game celebrates the 4th of July. I headed over to the lake for the fireworks festival. I found Genji and Belle there, fanning themselves. I don’t think Belle is very bright though, because she was looking the wrong way.

Genji and Belle at the fireworks festivalThe mad cow accused me of blocking her view.

Belle: Go find your own spot, mad cow!Static was in a much better mood.

Static: Aren't fireworks the best?Emerald was also there to enjoy the show.

Emerald: Watching fireworks is so relaxing.Crazy Redd had a stand set up, and he was selling fans. I bought a bamboo fan and a cloud fan.

Crazy Redd's balloon stand.Once I left the festival, I saw a huge shadow in the river. I fished out an arapaima!

Catching an arapaima in Animal Crossing. It didn’t take long for my villagers to notice the large fish bulging out of my pockets. Hank offered to buy it for 770 bells. Heck no!

Hank: I'll take your arapaima for 770 bells!Just seconds later, Sydney wanted to trade me a three-ball shirt for my arapaima. No, no, no!

Sydney: I accidentally bought two three-ball shirt!I found the tent of a summer camper, and I went inside. Woolio the sheep was inside, but he was a bit rude. I didn’t bother playing any of his games.

Woolio: Sorry, no camping lessons. I'm busy. And in Acre B-1, I found a new house. It belongs to Nosegay the anteater. Her house is full of paintings; she must have a nose for art.

Meeting Nosegay in her art-filled house.I then wrapped up my night in Forest. Happy 4th of July to all of you in the U.S.! See you next time!

Grumpy Animals

Hi everyone. I recently bought a new (used) Wii to replace my old Wii that stopped playing discs a while back. This allows me to use component cables once again, which will result in higher quality screenshots (and videos).

When I started up the game today, I received a good-bye letter in the mail from Louie the gorilla.

Louie's goodbye letter.Static and Ursala apparently had a fight about something, but they took their anger out on me! Keep your Static electricity to yourself, pal!

Static tells me to shut up and back off. (Animal Crossing GameCube)I spoke to Candi, and she got furious that I haven’t spoken to her in ten weeks. Why can’t any of these grumps be happy to see me? She’s lucky I didn’t set a mousetrap outside her house.

Candi: I'm so mad I could spit!Once the mouse calmed herself, she started telling me that the Able Sisters will loan out their equipment. It’s true, you can download the pattern-designing tool onto your Game Boy Advance so that you design on the go. Of course, I think I only used that feature once, just to try it out.

Candi: The Able Sisters will loan you their equipment. When I talked to Tom, I found that he was also upset that I haven’t spoken with him lately. But unlike the situation with Candi, it has only been three weeks since I spoke to him! Even though I enjoy how villagers show more anger in this game (compared to later games in the series), it can get a bit annoying when everyone is mad at you.

Tom: It's ridiculous to get nostalgic afer just 3 weeks!Down by the beach, I found someone who wasn’t mad at me…because he didn’t know me yet. It was Bill the duck, my newest neighbor. Welcome to Forest, Mr. Bill.

Bill: It's a pleasure meeting you.Over by the wishing well, Belle seemed disappointed that nobody calls her a mad cow.

Belle: No one else says mad cow. That’s because you’re a sad cow. Actually she was just asking if she should keep her catchphrase, and I told her to stick with it a while longer.

I spoke with Kody, and he scolded me for chopping down trees. I haven’t even chopped any down in a long time!

Kody: You monster! I'm telling on you! Before I wrapped up my day, I did find someone who was in a great mood: Hank the rooster! He’s almost always in good spirits, so I’m glad to have him in my town.

Hank: I'm feeling just about perfect! One other thing about my new used Wii, is that it apparently hadn’t connected to the internet in a long time. So after using it for the first time, I found the disc slot all lit up in blue light. For those who don’t know, it would do that when you had a new WiiConnect24 message (either from Nintendo or from a friend). If you’re interested, here’s a look at it:

Thank you for stopping by!
