Winter is Here

I started up the game and saw that not only was it snowing, but snow now covers the ground as well. Winter is here.

Snow in the air and on the ground.I also saw that many trees now have Christmas lights.

Christmas lights on trees.I went around town pulling weeds, talking to animals, and digging up any dig spots I ran across. This one had a pitfall. Pitfalls are fairly rare in this version; it’s not like City Folk, where a new one appears every day.

Check it out! I dug up a pitfall! When I talked to Hank, he wanted me to buy an exotic chest for 3,000 bells. I declined and he said “how about a space heater for 1,000 bells?” I again declined. He got mad, gave me the space heater for free, and then stormed off. Alrighty then. I talked to Sydney and she was getting nostalgic for when she lived in Ohio with Scott. She said Scott sent her the best letters, such as this one:

Hi Sydney. I'm just pretending to like you, friend. From Scott. After finishing my rounds, I stopped at the post office to mail a fossil and deposit some bells, and then I headed for home.

Valise Out, Snooty In, Snow, and Christmas Trees

It was snowing today in Forest.

Snow flurries.I went to Nook’s and saw that he has Christmas trees for sale, so I bought a large one. Even though my house is in-between designs right now, at least I have a Christmas tree.

A large Christmas tree in my house.I got a goodbye letter from Valise, so she is gone. I went to visit my new neighbor, Snooty. I hope I made a good first impression. I think I did.

Snooty: You didn't have to say it like that. I have feelings too, sniffff. You big loser!

Sale Day

Today is Sale Day in Animal Crossing, also known as Black Friday or the day after Thanksgiving. For Sale Day, Tom Nook will be selling a bunch of grab bags.

Grab bags on sale at Nookington's.Each one costs 2011 bells and contains three random items. They may include furniture, clothes, carpet, wallpaper, pinwheels, or perhaps other items as well. I ended up buying 11 of them. I sold most of the stuff back of course, but I kept this vertigo shirt and fancy pinwheel. I also kept a racer shirt for future use.

Me wearing a vertigo shirt and holding a fancy pinwheel.Crazy Redd will always be in town on Sale Day as well, and there is a cool glitch that will only work today. You have to go to Redd’s tent, go inside and buy all of his items (this may require a lot of money). Once you leave, his tent will vanish into thin air. But somewhere else in town, his tent reappears with new items…but Redd is not standing outside that tent.

Keep looking around (it may be back at the original spot you saw him), and you will see Redd standing in front of a sign post. Talk to him, and he will walk into the sign post and disappear! Here is a video of the glitch that I recorded two years ago: Animal Crossing – Disappearing Crazy Redd Glitch.

Redd: Coming back may just be the smartest thing you do this fine day! While talking to Genji, I accidentally asked him for a job. He asked me to get his comic book back from Static. No problem, Static was nearby, so I asked him. But Static said he lent it to Sydney, so I went to her house. She was sleeping outside, but I woke her up and then asked for the comic book. She told me Baabara took it. So I went into Baabara’s house. She told me she gave it to Tom. So I went up to Tom’s house, and fortunately, he actually had it. I then returned it to Genji and he rewarded me with a stately wall.

Genji: Is wallpaper a decent enough reward for you, melonhead?
